Rob is one of the best therapists I’ve hired. He strikes an amazing balance on identifying issues, lending support, providing constructive feedback and offering solutions for change. He’s helped me to have a more positive outlook in every aspect of my life and has been an invaluable resource to me and my family.

Rob Howard is a kind, compassionate, and experienced therapist. He provided excellent therapy and support to my son on a weekly basis from age 13 – 18. Over the five years that Mr. Howard worked with my son, when my husband and I were part of joint parent/​child sessions, we were always impressed by the real rapport he achieved with my son, his therapeutic insights, his ability to constructively guide discussions so that our family communication improved, and his absolute professionalism. I have recommended Mr. Howard many times to other families in the San Mateo County area with teens who are struggling. We feel very lucky that Rob Howard provided us with such outstanding therapy services.

I hired Rob Howard after he was recommended by multiple colleagues. He is a compassionate, skilled and masterful therapist who has helped to change the way my family talks with one another. I credit Rob with helping to fix our once broken family and with becoming an advocate for our kids during the toughest times for our family. I would recommend Rob to anyone looking to build back relationships with the people they love. He is truly a diamond in the rough!

Rob Howard should not be allowed to practice. I hired him, on a recommendation from CPS, to provide therapy to my children, after child abuse allegations were made against their father. Instead of helping my children, he engaged in unauthorized reunification counseling (included the abusive parent in the children’s private therapy sessions), without my consent. My children reported to me that Mr. Howard told them, «Everything you tell me, I will tell the judge.» Of course, Mr. Howard denies saying this.
Without my consent or any agreement from me, Howard sent a report about my children and me to the SMC Family Law judge who was to rule on our custody (I was seeking a change in custody based on the reports of abuse). I believe this unauthorized report unfairly biased the judge’s decision.
When he testified at our child custody hearing (having been paid to appear by my ex), he claimed that I had accused him of abusing my children. When my attorney asked him to substantiate that allegation (he claimed I had sent him an email with the accusation), Howard could not produce any evidence. He lied under penalty of perjury.
It is clear from the moment you meet him, Howard is a second-​rate therapist, desperate for business. He will do anything for money, even lie under oath. He was trusted to protect my children’s private conversations, yet he forced them to face their (alleged) abuser in these sessions, then lied to these innocent children. Howard is beneath contempt. He is not to be trusted.
When one studies the systemic disease spread throughout the Family Courts of this county, Howard is one of the causes. Howard is willing to lie, and put children in danger, purely for money because he does not have the skills to compete honestly in his profession. The «business» of Family Law, where monied abusers win their innocent victims, is the only way scum like Howard can make a living.
