Mervyn’s California Department Stores

I love Mervyn. How nice to have a department store so close to my house that I can walk there to shop anytime?
Don’t know why no one come here to report that this has been closed. All should know that all Mervyn closed down statewide, right? I hope this time my review won’t be deleted.
No doubt that I live around this neighborhood. Passed by the old Mervyn store and saw the big sign saying «KOHL coming this September 27»

Kohl’s Department Stores will be takeover several Mervyn’s locations in Northern California.
Mervyn’s filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July and in October, Mervyn’s received court approval to hold going-​out-​of-​business sales.
If approved by the bankruptcy court, these current Bay Area/​Northern California Mervyns locations will turn into Kohl’s.

Absolute bathroom from hell.
I mean, really! S**t is actually on the ceiling!
I cant even begin to imagine how someone did that.
Its a pretty good mervyn’s to shoplift at, but dont do that
cause they are hurtin these days.

Oh Holy Mother of God, pray that you never have to use the Women’s restroom while shopping at Mervyn’s in Millbrae.
As you push open the restroom door, the smell of industrial air freshener commingled with urine, slaps vehemently at your nostrils.
I walked by stall after stall after stall. Plugged toilets, wet floors, no toilet paper. This restroom was so disgusting that I actually took photos with my cell phone and emailed them to Mervyn’s headquarters along with a complaint letter.
Needless to say, I grabbed the door handle with a paper towel and me and my full bladder got the heck out of there.
I’m not sure if I am the 1^st Unilocaler to write a review based solely about a restroom =)

when they have a sale, this is a fantastic place to go! i really shop here more so for the skivvies’…

Normally I would not be caught be dead in this store but I needed some cheap thermals which only cost me $ 4/​piece. This place rocks when you need to keep toasty. Who knew cheap clothes could be so… well… cheap.

What Mervyns is good for:
–Cheap 1928 jewelry (better made and better deals at Macy’s though)
–Nice but cheap pillows and wall-​mounted candelabras (psst! don’t tell but ours are from here)
–Shoes (cheap and surprisingly nice)
–Baby stuff (lots of the Carters line)
–Christmas ornaments (but there’s a little too much of my pet peeve — Santa playing sports)
