Peter Loftus Playground

A well maintained park located on a great neighborhood in sun-​trenched Millbrae. My wife and I always enjoy brining our kids here. There’re plenty of street parking. This park has lots of amenities including two play structures for kids from all ages and multiple BBQ areas with picnic tables. The play structures seem to be in great conditions. There is a larger play structure with a higher slide, which is my elder son’s favorite. The smaller play structure is ideal for smaller kids with less elevated height. There are several large trees next to the structures providing lots of shades if case parents want to stay away from the sun on a hot day while watching their kids play. The BBQ stations seem to be occupied on weekends but there’s always one or two vacant. I’m not sure reservation is required. The community center is located next to the park and is open on weekends. The restrooms inside are open to the public. Overall, it’s a great place for families to hang out.

Nice clean playground in sunny Millbrae with play structures for big and little kids.

I brought my pup here on Thursday because I wanted to find a new place to walk him that was close. Based on the reviews it seemed like a great option with grass and small hills, walking path, etc but once I got there I noticed the around the exterior of the main grass area had old food, papers, broken glass, dog poo, random dog food in a bowl hidden behind bushes and other bits that could potentially be hazardous to pets. The place is alarming and stressful. What if someone laced any of the food with poison and my dog happened to grab a hold of it.
Ont he other hand, if you’re going here just because you want a place to roam around for a bit then it’s a tad small. It’s few redeeming qualities is that the grass is green (either because they water or it’s fake), the main walking circle is 90% clean and there’s a play area for kids.
I will not be back to this park.

It’s a nice place to take a children and play in the playground with big grassy area and there’s always ample parking. Perfect for a small family picnic, as long as you clean up after yourselves.

Easy street parking, big grassy area to run, play and lay. Clean picnic tables, good structures for big or little ones. No sand, has wood chips. Lots of nice trees. Clean public restroom in the center with diaper changing table. Always sunny! =)

This park is really big and open. I like that there are two areas (2 – 5 and 5 – 11). It’s looks like they maintain this park well because the equipment seemed to be clean and new compared to some of the other parks I’ve been to. The public restrooms were exceptionally clean as well. There is a gazebo that was really nice and looks like it would be a good place to throw a party at.
The only improvements I could see here are for the picnic areas to be a bit bigger and had more than two tables each. Also, that there would be more than 4 swings and that the playground areas would be extended a bit more.

Are you kidding me? Playground is old and unkept, swings squeak like a 100 year old bike and there is a serious lack of shade. Restrooms?! Please don’t waste your time. Head down El Camino for 5 minutes and go to San Bruno City Park instead

It’s off Hazel and Laurel road. Most direct way is to take Taylor street and go all the way up.

I love how this place has so much grass! Green grass everywhere! And a beautiful revamped playground safe for kids. Seriously, I still play on the playground when no one is around!
Lots of parking and they have at least 5 picnic tables that you can reserve and have a bbq for those hot summer days.
Great place to just have a picnic or relax, play some sports with the fam bam. Dogs are welcome!
One thing I’d be aware of is the grass field behind the park on top of the hill. There’s always broken glass around there and sometimes there are kids who seem like they’re ditching school to smoke you know what.

One of my son’s favorite parks. He loves climbing those red bars on the playground structure. He loves the slides and even the kiddy structure he likes.
Community center near by, a huge open field!!, some picnic tables. The ground is made of small pieces of wood, not as cool as the rubber ground.
The cons, alot of teenagers hang out here and cuss a lot. Some parents like to smoke while pushing their kids on the swing (come on now!)
Definitely a cool little park.

Just had a party there at the big picnic area. The park is clean and safe. The tables are a lil rusty and the bathrooms are clean enough but the space is perfect for a party and family picnics. I often take my kids to this playground and my little one can play in the toddler section while my bigger child has the option of the regular playground. Also the recreation staff was very helpful and easy to work with.

Wonderful park and playground. Shady areas with trees and big open spaces when you want some sun. The playground has a section for 2 — 5 year olds and 5 — 11 year olds, both are great. My 2 year old loved everything. We live in Daly City and it’s totally worth the drive.

I really really really like this park. Its clean, modern and well kept. It has a really big grass area so the kids can run around. When we went there was what looked like a summer day camp where they were playing activities on the grass, but enough room so that our nieces and nephews were able run around too with plenty of room to spare.
Yes, the playground is split into two sections. My nieces and nephews age ranges were from 9 – 6 and they enjoyed both. I had to do a lot of climbing myself to help the kiddies out but even then I didnt feel like I was in any other kids’ way.
Everytime we leave a new park they tell us that it’s their new favorite park… I’m with them on this one. I definitely plan to come back.

Clean and pretty playground. Two play structures. The structures have different components to them that I’ve not seen at other structures and which my son hasn’t seen either which makes them interesting and fun and hence he had a great time and hence why I give it 5 stars. whew.

Clean, very well maintained with 2 very interesting play structures with lots of slides. Plenty of street parking, & a parking lot as well. Definitely highly recommended for parents.

What a wonderful playground! There are two sections, for 2 – 5 year olds and 5 – 11 year olds. There are lots of fun things to play on: numerous slides, bridges, see saw, swings, rock wall, really cool play gyms. There is also a nice little sand box and it has the great rubberized turf, which is great for those little tumbles.
It is part of Millbrae Central Park and was recently redone in 2006.
There is a parking lot and some street parking.
