Great atmosphere and décor. Nice folks too! BUT… NO BEER. Non alcoholic drinks only.

Would like to say that tonight a group of friends were having a retirement supper of 40 years for a nurse at Sylacauga we all drove to Prattville to the restaurant that we had previously planned to go had power outage. So I called the catfish house Millbrook asked the young lady on phone if they could accept 25 people in thirty minutes she said to come on down. We get there they have us a table within 2 minutes took everyones order brought our food drinks and never missed a beat we would all like to say thanks for saving our night to catfish house and to our. Server who’s name is heavenly without this nite would have been a disaster. THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL SERVICE. AND FOOD WERE TOP NOTCH

Hand’s down, this is the best catfish I have ever had! Ever!!!
We are in Montgomery temporally and leaving soon. I only wish we had tried this place sooner. Big family atmosphere. Lots of big party’s going on. The service was great and friendly and fast. The place is beautiful. Lots of wall stuff to peak your interest. Great for Kids.
They bring you your «set up» real quick which is white beans, hush puppies, and Cole slaw. It ALL was fantastic! We could not stop eating! Then came the catfish! My husband got the stuffed crabs. Both were perfect! I was stuffed when we left. Absolutely perfect catfish!
Don’t miss this place!!! It is a rare jewel in the middle of nowhere!!!

Great food. The set up cole slaw, pinto beans and hush puppies are out of this world. The wait can long but it is worth it.

Outstanding service and amazing food. We called ahead because we had a party of 11, they said they would start setting for us. We arrived and we’re seated immediately. We let the server know we were in a time constraint and he went above and beyond to make our experience excellent.

It’s very good — if you order right. Lovely restaurant. Rustic and open and country. Gorgeous setting out back with an open field, huge lone oaks, and the river. Absolutely beautiful setting. What’s great: someone here said the best hush puppies anywhere and it’s true. Fried catfish with homemade tartar sauce is great. Onion rings are incredibly sweet with a light batter. The included white beans are very flavorful. Skip: the boiled chilled shrimp was chilled but very very plain. I didn’t like the homemade cocktail sauce at all. The cole slaw had no texture for my taste. The fried scallops were ok but nothing special. Overall 4 stars but skip the shrimp.

I have been twice. The first visit they let us know they forgot the order in the kitchen. The second the overall service was awful. They forgot drinks and took quite a while after forgetting. They brought the setup bowls and said «enjoy!» Enjoy what? Then the order of the full catfish did not arrive with other meals. We were told it would be right out. Then we were told the kitchen forgot to drop it in the fryer. Half of the people at the table were ready to leave when it finally arrived. The waitress said the manager would take care of it. We got the bill and they removed $ 2. I then spoke to the manager who did not apologize. She finally agreed to cut the one meal to half price. Never an apology. I will not return.

We loved the food and service last night and also the option to order only the «set up/​sides» and was able to share a platter with my husband.

My flight delayed here so I found myself in Catfish house. The staff was kind and the place was kept well clean. I got the combination plate «Fried Oyster» and «Fried Shrimp» it’s was worth every penny. The oysters were soft and cooked to expectation as well as the shrimp. The hush puppy’s where the best I’ve ever had seriously. You can come here to dine with friends or family maybe even the wife. I’d recommend this to anyone passing through good ol Alabama.

This place is awesome! It’s not on the healthy side, but every time I come home I look forward to going there. The place is always packed!

Fresh tasting seafood with delicious sides of cole slaw, hush puppies, and white beans and ham. I really enjoy the sweet relish on the table. Tea was good also. The service was good and I enjoyed the old timey décor with John Wayne photos. Will definitely be back!

This is a great family restaurant which serves every table with hush puppies, relish, Cole slaw and pinto beans to start. You could honestly fill up on just those delicious treats but you wouldn’t want to miss out on a catfish dinner. There fish is wonderfully breaded and delicious and always filled perfectly– golden fries but not burned. The desserts are not that good but, honestly, few people would have room for dessert after eating all of that food.
Get there early because this place gets crowded fast and, as a result, the service is not outstanding. It’s slow and usually pretty inattentive but not rude at all. Also, if you are into healthy eating, this is not the place for you as there is not a green veggie in sight and your choice of low carb options is also non existent BUT hey, would you really pick this place if you were looking for veggies or low carb options.. . I think not!
Th restaurant is decorated with a lot of artifacts from tiles gone by from old signs and pictures on the walls to antique bicycles and wasps nests handing from the ceiling.
It’s not the type of place for a romantic dinner but it is a great place for a family meal and a little fun

I grew up in the area and have been eating here since the 80’s. I moved away years ago, but when I visit, this is where we eat. I love, Love, LOVE the Catfish House.
I have a confession, though. In the hundreds of times that I’ve eaten here, I don’t think I’ve ever had anything but the catfish. Not that I recall. So I suggest the catfish. And the white beans, and the hush puppies.

I docked a star due to the [non-​existent] drink menu. The only thing that could improve this place is a cold beer. Get with the times, Catfish House!

We went back and the hostess was very kind and helpful. Maybe she was having a bad night the first time we went. This place is great!

Good: clean fun atmosphere, efficient wait staff, friendly, lots of food for the price, my kids love it.
Bad: everything is fried.

Only one thing to say awesome!!! Worth the trip off the interstate to eat. We live I Florida and have relatives in the area who took us here. I will be back every chance I get.

Well, the place was clean. Really clean. Service was decent and we always had our drinks filled. Tea. No alcohol here. The food was decent. I didn’t see these «large portions». I ordered fries but received a baked potato. The shrimp were tiny. I did enjoy the one piece of catfish and the coupla scallops on the platter. The beans were great and and coleslaw was mehh. I’d go again but would stick to catfish… just a tad pricey.

Great food and really down home atmosphere. Great family restaurant. Large portions — we took home half of our meals.

My group was referred here from some people we were working with while in town… And am I glad they did!!!
The place is in a country setting, right on a large pond… be sure to ask for a table by the windows! Awesome views!
I had the seafood platter, which came with catfish, of course, scallops, oysters, shrimp… all ohhhhh soooooo gooooood! And of course they being you a ton of hush puppies, coleslaw, and beans… all ohhhhh soooooo gooooood!!!
Needless to say the food was most excellent, as was the service. Our server was the best!
Also, when you are walking to your table, be sure to check out the HUGE salt water aquarium! There are some beautiful fish… I even took a couple pics (no flash of course!!)
Anyway, this is one place you gotta find and make a trip too!

Very good catfish, comes with a side and three setups, hush puppies, white beans and Cole slaw which are all above average. You will never leave hungry. The décor is perfect for a catfish house.
