Dont get this confused this is for 0 stars. I was on the hunt for a wedding videographer for my May 2013 wedding. I found via a wedding site like the knot or weddingwire. I contacted«JOHN’ aka Jesse Clark and he was trying to get me to send him a deposit asap. But I had a gut feeling and something did not click. I wasn’t sure the videos on the website were really shot by him. And I didnt know if he was even in the Chicago area since I found 0 reviews for In Focus Studios. After doing some research, I found out that this company was associated with Sureshot and was just another name he was trying to scam under. I ignored his request for a deposit and stopped looking for a few months. When i revisited the videographer situation I finally found some information about the scam was running. I am so relieved that I did not lose $ 1500 and end up with no video. I sent him an email to( ) to him know I was aware of his scam and in no way would I be booking with him. I received a two word reply«f*** off» which definitely shows his guilt. I hope more brides do research and are prevented from being scammed.

I’m wondering why my review was filtered? I did not violate any policies. I’m wondering if perhaps the business owner might be filtering out honest reviews?

I would have given zero stars if that was possible!!! I saw a lot of the reviews on here were positive so I went with this scummy company, don’t be fooled. I now have no doubt that the«good reviews» are fake ones that the slimy owner Jesse Clark put up on his own! We booked him after finding this on , they should be ashamed for endorsing such a company. This company has all negative reviews if you google them but all good ones on wedding websites, clearly the work of the owners. I went on BBB recently and they have a grade F and are flagged as a company that will probably change their name! Real shady stuff. Anyway, we booked them for our 4÷28÷12 wedding. Final payment was due 2 days before the wedding, but a week before Jesse charged our credit card the final payment. When I called for a refund, no answer(no surprising) and when I emailed him, he said«I haven’t heard from you» He doesn’t need to hear from me, the payment is due on 4⁄26 an it was only 4⁄20! So I told him to refund our account since a check was already in the mail. He never did… We went on our honeymoon and came back and saw that we still had a charge for over $ 600 from him! We called and emailed him and never heard back so we had our credit card company get the money back after showing our contract and the voided check that he cashed right away!!! The day of my wedding Jesse didn’t show up as promised, he sent another photographer. Very nice but she has already left the company. I know this because she was the only one answering my calls after the fact and she was also shocked that no one had contacted me! My family took pictures on the side thank god or I would have NONE! After we got the money back ourselves, I have still never heard from this company regarding our pictures or video! I don’t believe I ever will… I was duped. I went by the wedding websites and not google like I should have! Stay away people, this guy is a slime ball! My husband and I are filing a small claims lawsuit against him so we can get our money back and them I’m going to have to put the dress back and on and get«real» professional pictures taken! The worst part, we thought we had a videographer to help us remember parts of the night like our first dance, the speeches, etc… But we don’t have anything now… And all of the pictures with my mother and stepfather, gone. None of my family took those pictures since they were before the ceremony… I don’t want this company to do this to anyone else! Run people!!!

To all potential brides and grooms, please do yourself a favor and do a thorough Google search on this company before you move ahead and book them. Unfortunately we did not and regret it. As we tried to get in touch with this company to move ahead with our upcoming wedding since I am away on business right before the wedding, I received the most unprofessional correspondence I have ever in my professional life received from a company. I had to read twice to make sure I didn’t misunderstand. Here are some quotes from Jesse himself: «You dod not sign a contract with Jesse Videography. You signed a contract with SureShot Videography and, per our executed contract, I have the authority to assign anyone I wish to film your wedding. If you took the time from standing in front of the mirror to impersonate Arnold and sat down to read your contract, you would be aware of this. « “As for a refund, I want you to read your contract about that issue as well. C’est la vie!» «And I will make sure Joe will never have an acting career.» How can a professional company write to their clients like this and attack their careers? I am happy to share the full correspondence with anyone who is in doubt about how this email went down. I’m sure my review will get taken down since this company does not like bad reviews, but I just want to get it out there. I will also likely get trashed by Jesse on this review, but that should be a review in itself.

After twenty-four weeks of being told that everything was fine and that the editors were working as quickly as possible, I was informed Thursday 1÷26÷12 that my wedding video from my 8÷7÷11 wedding is lost because of a supposed hard drive crash. If the editors had it, I would think that the footage would have been uploaded in more than one place, so I feel like I have been lied to this whole time. Jesse, the owner, was very responsive until after the wedding. In October, almost ten weeks after my wedding, Jesse emailed me back after three unanswered emails, and told me DVD turnaround time is eight weeks. The last time I heard from him was 11÷2÷11 when he told me that the editors were doing everything they can, and he thanked me for my patience. That was it. I ended up calling the studio on 12⁄30 and spoke with Keith who told me that I didn’t have the finished product because they had no idea which editor had my film. At that point I figured something was really wrong, but I waited to hear back. I even suggested to Keith that my film was lost and that I would never get my video. Keith responded by laughing suggesting that that scenario was so far-fetched and would never happen. January 19 – 25, I was told that they found my film and they were sending it to a new editor. Then I got a call on 1⁄26 when Keith told me they had bad news, and that they lost my video. He said that 10 videos in total were lost. He said that they knew that the videos were gone, but they were waiting to tell the affected brides until they settled with their insurance company so they could get refunds for us. I was horrified! He laughed at me when I asked if my video was lost. I cannot believe that I will never be able to watch my husband and I exchange vows. No refund, if we ever actually get it, will make up for that.

I had to contact the BBB and this is Sureshot’s reponse. It has been close to 4 month since my wedding and I have not gotten my video or product. I have stopped in the store twice in 14 weeks, emailed twice and 14 weeks– so there is nothing harrassing about my emails. This company is angry that I am actually posting what they are doing/not doing. I hope others will come out with their reviews. I would be happy to send all the email communication from this company if you are considering using them so you to view yourself. «On December 08, 2011, the business provided the following information: This client has been rude to this company and has harassed this company through email, telephone and in person. We have no time frame in which we need to submit DVDs to clients due to the fact that we film over 100 weddings per year and our editors are under extreme pressure. We have advised the client that she will receive her DVD within the next few weeks and, if not, we will return her money. We simply cannot wait to get rid of this rude client.» I have told them that I would be happy to change or update my review based on how they proceed with their actions and communication and I am doing that.
