This Wal-Mart Pharmacist denied prescribed medication to a woman who had just learned she had lost her pregnancy to miscarriage. In order to avoid surgery her Physician prescribed a medication that would allow her uterus to empty itself of the placenta without invasive painful surgery. The Pharmacist refused. Compounding… part of the job of a pharmacist correct? This time it is compounding the sorrow, compounding the injury…

I found this Walmart confusing to find, to get into and to get back out on the street. It’s kind of back on top of a hill and you don’t see it from the main street. As with most Walmarts, there is a strip mall along side of it which was maybe 75% occupied. Parking lot is typical Walmart confusion: It’s everyone for themselves!\ I did find the aisles either too narrow or too many pallets of junk put in the middle of a main aisle to the point that if someone ahead of you stopped, it was impossible to go around. In that respect, this store is poorly designed for the flow of foot traffic. Can’t really say that it’s more expensive than other WalMarts because they’re the only game in town, but it wouldn’t surprise me. The design of the parking lot and feeder roads leading in and out give rise to concern. That is, I would be concerned about someone hitting me because there is no clear arteries leading to the store.

Denies medicines to people in need. Shame on them.

Like any other Walmart in the country, this one here too also sucks! Everyone hates having to go to Walmart, but it is just so easy to get everything you need in one location that we all do it. What sets this Walmart apart from the ones in Atlanta is that you can get in, get what you need, and get out faster than the others; mainly because there are a lot less people in the Milledgeville Walmart than up here. Also the staff at this Walmart is a lot more friendlier than at the stores in Atlanta, which is another reason I’ll shop at this Walmart when visiting Milledgeville. One thing about this store that really gets me is their pricing. For some of the items that I regularly buy this store location charges more than the Walmarts in Atlanta. I’ve asked the management about this before, and the only answer they can give me is that they do not have the competition. Maybe one day Milledgeville will get a Target to help stimulate the competition making the prices fall a little.

It’s a Walmart like any other — awesome people watching. True to their clientele, I was only able to find one pair of swim trunks in the entire store that was my size — 32 – 34 waist. The rest of the suits were primarily XXL. USA! USA!
