Cindy’s Cafe On Cotton

Got lucky while traveling for work and found this great little restaurant in Millen right next to the train tracks. Very friendly owner and staff with a hometown feel. I had the bar and everything was hot and delicious. I’ll be stopping in again soon to order something off the grill. Looking forward to it already!

While passing through the area on a Sunday I used Unilocal to find a place that would be open for a good country lunch. It does not get any better than Café on Cotton. This hidden treasure is exactly why I love Unilocal.Just a few blocks off the main drag, we adored the small revitalized downtown and this southern cooking restaurant was just what we had in mind. Though you can order breakfast or lunch from a menu, the buffet is really the way to go. For $ 10.50 you get two meats, four vegetables, a salad bar, a drink, and dessert. I had the fried chicken, pot roast, creamed corn, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. Yeah I know, more fat content that anyone needs in a meal, but so worth every single calorie. Everything was so amazing, but the creamed corn and mac n’cheese were my favorites. The sweet tea was so perfectly southern and the dessert choices were almost overwhelming. I had the carrot cake, which was clearly made from scratch with cream cheese frosting and topped with pecans. When we were ready to go we mentioned we did not see the lace corn bread we read about, so they made us several pieces to go. Yes it really is super delicious. The employees here are so sweet and helpful, even to the out-​of-​towners. I cannot wait to pass through Millen again so I have an excuse to load up on my country cooking favorites.

If you happen to find yourself on the back roads of Georgia and go through Millen (between Statesville and Augusta), you must try The Café on Cotton. Just a block off the beaten path, they were welcoming and the food was as if you just walked into Grandma’s house on a Sunday afternoon. We had the buffet, with both fried and baked chicken (I had fried, just out of the pan), broccoli, beef stroganoff, lace cornbread (a first for me), cabbage, yam patties, mashed potatoes and gravy, and then some. They had a salad bar as well, and while I usually do s.b.‘s, who had room??? For just under $ 10, you get meats, veggies, drink and dessert. All homemade. And that price includes tax! We have been really enjoying staying off the main interstates while traveling, and these small town gems make it worthwhile.

Excellent service, quality southern cooking, clean and fresh! A hidden gem in a town that doesn’t even have a Wafflehouse!

Driving through Milen ms my mother in law recommended the lace corn bread. Said it would be the finest thing I put in my mouth. She wasn’t kidding. Delicious!
Also had the creamiest club sandwhich ever and a scrumptious piece of Oreo Cream cake.
Highly highly recommend.

Never thought i would write a review for a place in Millen, GA… but here goes.
Came in town for a shootem up bachelor party and this was the bfast spot. Great breakfast and very cheap. Good service but slow as they make everything to order is my guess. Everyone left satisfied and it hit the ‘i want a guilty bfast spot’. Only reason for 3 stars is because it’s a traditional, unhealthy breakfast spot… which to me can’t get more than 3 stars.
Def the place to go if you are in the area.

I stopped into this place while doing IT service in Millen. This restaurant appears to have been an old department store years ago as its a large open area.
I came in during off hours, but I was immediately given the family treatment. The owners were there and treated me like I was family.
I had the hamburger steak. It was so good I took half of it with me back to Augusta so that my family could try it.
to this date I have not had a better hamburger steak.
If you are near Millen or just passing through you MUST try this restaurant!
