I’ve had only dessert and coffee here. That being said: YUMMY! Get the apple pie with vanilla ice cream and a cup of the delicious and always piping hit coffee!

This is a 2.5 star review. I really wanted to like this diner more than I did. Best thing was the soup. I had an amazing homemade chicken soup. The atmosphere is great, the service was good. The rest of the food just fell down a bit. I had a Caesar salad that tasted like it was made with bottled dressing, it was too thick and kind of globby. And I am a Caesar salad snob, so I find most places over dress the lettuce. I had a bite of my kids burgers and fries(just to give an accurate review ;)) and they were okay but not great. There was some interesting seasoning on the fries, a bit too much cayenne pepper for my 4 yr old, but my 7 yr old loved them, loved her burger and cleaned her plate. My husband got the organic double burger and he said it was just average(and if you have read some of my other posts, you know he knows his burgers). I am not sorry I checked this place out, but I would try other places next time I am in the area.

The staff was very good. But everything else was sub par– from the coffee, to the food, to the comfort of the booth and table. Just whatever. Disappointing. We won’t be returning.

Unilocal said diner was open. We rode an hour on Tuesday to get here. So upsetting… Love this place but must be accountable to sites like google and Unilocal

I’m not usually a big fan of diners; something about them being perpetually covered in grease kinda turns me off. But Oakhurst isn’t quite like that. This is my first time visiting Millerton and after biking down the Harlem Valley Rail Trail this diner hits the spot. I chose the Bahn Mi. with a side of kimchi because you have to keep with the theme. Not only was the sammich everything I hoped it would be and more, there was a lightness, an airyness to it that I haven’t experienced with other similar Bahn Mi sandwiches. The staff seems friendly and the music is pleasantly reminiscent of 106.7 lite fm; oldies but goodies. all in all, I’d come back.

I love this place. Choices of locally grown food. They have a few tables outside and we were able to sit at one of those on a beautiful day. Edamame dumplings were great. Service was fast.

I was drifting with my friends today at like rock and decided to leave to get food. This classic American diner caught my eye. The interior was exactly what I wanted. My 3 friends and I fit well in a booth. The food was fantastic. Now on to the highlights of the diner. I cannot quite put my finger on it but there’s something about the waitress. Before you think it, it’s not like I want to have sex with the waitress. More like I’d like to have an extended conversation with her because she seems… I don’t know let’s just say there was something about her. Let’s have a short story time. I ordered some burger thing it had half of a corndog cut off in it it was interesting, OK, but that’s not the point. I decided to add a chocolate milkshake to my order. I regret nothing about the chocolate milkshake. The dish for in the back brought me a chocolate milkshake. Two minutes later the waitress brought me another milkshake by mistake. When I made her aware of her blunder secretly I wanted to have a second milkshake because I’m a fat fuck. When I made her aware of her mistake she handled it like a fucking boss. Casually but intensely bit the wrapper off the straw put the straw into the milkshake with a sassy attitude and claimed it as her own. Something about the smirk, something about the way that she walked away with such pride interest me. Now I know what you’re thinking and I have no desire to replace my current wife with this new waitress. But what I am saying is I would let her roll of my crew and make us milkshakes. She had no interest whatsoever in rags

Not sure I understand the mediocre reviews here. Hello!!! This is a diner… not the Four Seasons! My wife and I had lunch here yesterday and were pleased, given the lack of good places to eat in the area. I had the turkey club and she had the organic burger. Side dishes like fries are only fifty cents extra. The food was very good and the service was fine as well. Will definitely return on our next trip through Millerton.

I have a certain soft spot for diners. American nouveau in a converted diner, and you’ve struck a path to my foodie heart. Oakhurst offers breakfast from Benedict to buckwheat pancake. Dinners range from roast pork bahn mi to steak frits. Really, this is a wonderful of new american dining and at reasonable prices. The house made sweet potato fries are outstanding. Try the edemame dumplings to start, fried and served with a classic but indispensable Chile sauce, its a great light starter. My bahn mi was exceptional, if unusual; house mayo, pickled veggies and cilantro, fiery fresh jalapeños, and sweet thin sliced pork between sourdough baguette halves. It wasn’t the bahn mi of Vietnam but distinctly the new american fusion of flavors I crave. Service was good, quick and attentive but not obtrusive. I’ll be back for the homemade Whoopi pies and pie raining from behind the counter.

Great(very) little lunch/breakfast/dinner place in Millerton. They have a good beer selection and some really tasty sweet & sour sauce they actually sell. I have a bottle in my fridge. It is certainly over priced, but if you’re coming to a tiny little village upstate for shopping, why complaint about $ 20 for lunch?! Keep up the good work.

I’ve been going to the Oakhurst for nearly 4 years. In that time I’ve seen the Oakhurst decline. When I was new to the area it was delightful, good food. There were great items on the menu discontinued over the years. Service got poorer & poorer with a very high turnover of the waitstaff. I started to notice stuff that would earn you a «C» in NYC and stopped going entirely. Dirty. Subpar, overpriced food. I live in the area, there are few options, but I’d rather pay more for a quality meal elsewhere in Millerton. Would be nice if they could turn it around. I’d happily return.

This is the place to be. Breakfast served until 5pm? check. Beer — including a ginger ale shandy? check. Apple pie to close it all out? check. Bonus points from my kids who strongly endorsed the pancakes…

Perfectly good lunch. I believe I got a chicken club or something similar. Very tasty, good french fries, exactly what a diner should be.

I stopped by here on my way back to NYC from a camping trip, Millerton is a little cute town, w mixed hipsters, locals and bypassers like us! The diner is very clean, chic and sunny! I have to say everyone on our table love our food, my grilled chicken sandwich was superb, chicken was grilled to perfection, tender, juicy and delicious! I don’t know what kind of dressing/sauce, but it makes it one of my fav chicken sandwich place! The sweet potato fries are crispy and yum! I definitely prefer it over reg fries my friends ordered. they’re very satisfied w their oakhurst burger! I love the fact they’re doing their best to use local produces and it’s indicated on the menu, service was quick and friendly, kitchen moves pretty quickly so does tables! There was brunch special and good varieties food selection on the menu. It feels more like a small local restaurant than a diner to me! And I will definitely stop by next time when I’m around.

If I lived near this diner, I’d be a frequent diner. We stopped here, along the drive to NYC. Parking available to customers. The diner is small, but tables aren’t squished together. There are tables, booths and seats at the counter. Diner features 1 women’s restroom and 1 men’s restroom. I ordered the Oakhurst Hamburger with French fries. I can see the coarse salt sprinkled on top of those fries. The right amount of saltiness, crunchy exterior & moist interior in each french fry. The hamburger features Oakhurst Dressing or did they call it ‘sauce’. No matter cuz it was delicious. The meat is provided by a local purveyor. Now THAT’S what I call ‘good beef’. I had no complaints!

This diner always appears busy on our trips to Millerton. Considering it was about 10:30AM on a Saturday(the first Saturday the Farmer’s Markets opened for the summer season) the place was quiet. We were seated right away, and there appeared to be more waitstaff than there were diners in the restaurant. Menu was sparse for a diner but it had all of the new trends in trendy cooking ie. organic, grass-fed, locally sourced. Breakfast was delicious. I ordered a vegetable omlette which came with home fries and a slice of toast. Portions weren’t large but rather just right. Veggies were fresh and plentiful. My dining companion ordered pancakes which came with two eggs and bacon for a reasonable $ 7.99. I did not find the prices high because the quality of the food matches the pricing. Only complaint was the uncomfortable booths, but the staff got us in and out in true diner fashion so it didn’t matter much.

Service was S L O W. Food fair but very small portions and waaaaaaay overpriced. Was unable to get a server to get that second cup of coffee so… Will not try this tourist trap again!

I entered and paused at the register to see if the girl there would say anything about where to sit. She was too busy sending a text message to even notice that I was there. I had been warned not to try and sit at a booth unless you were the size of Twiggy so I proceeded to sit at the counter. Well the stools were like sitting on a rock! I have been going to diners of all types for 60 years and this one was one of the worst as to appearance. It just looks shabby. There were not very busy and there were two workers near the other end of the diner not really doing much of anything. No one came to wait on me and there were no menus available. After sitting for awhile and being ignored I left. The girl at the register was no longer texting but just had a sort of blank look on her face as I told her I was leaving since no one waited on me. I have no idea about the food since I never got see a menu. None of the people working there seem to have any idea about customer service and the whole place looks like a Depression era throw-back. The McDonald’s in town is a much better choice.
