We just left the West End Tavern in Millstadt, IL! Good Friday! It was excellent in every way! It was busy, a fun crowd, fresh fish, the best ONION RINGS ever! Paula, our server was a Pro! Everything about it was great and we can’t wait to come back! 1000 per cent better than Catholic Warvets outside Belleville, no comparison.

Kitchen closes at 10 pm. Bar closes… whenever. First, whole fried catfish, oh my goodness. And frog legs, yesyesyes! And the beer! Ice cold frosted glasses and Stag on tap, hehehe. You can’t go wrong. The whole vibe of this place is small town friendly and small town wholesome. It can get loud though! Super chill and safe environment!

Found this place after a planned trip to Otts’ tavern in Milstadt Ill. for fish. For some reason Otts is closed on Sundays now. Fish was not as good as Otts fish but other food items were pretty fair. Service was ok and friendly. On a positive note, the beer they serve is ice cold.

I grew up in Belleville and now live in NYC. Every time I get back to the Metro East I try to get to a Fish Fry and this has got to be one of the best.
Crispy coated fish. Outdoor and indoor seating. Excellent Cole slaw and onion rings.
Only draw backs were the sullen teenage waiter and the stale-ish white bread.
Will be back.

This is an upgrade of my earlier review. Today in the mail we received a gift certificate for a lb of fish and 2 sides. We plan on eating in the beer garden in the near future. Thought this would be better than trying another carry out
