This place is great. Good atmosphere and great food. I’ve been twice now and found their pad see ew to be just excellent. There is also a tempura chicken dish with macadamia nuts that my girlfriend and I have decided that we need to get every time. I’d also recommend getting a green tea, as it was flavorful and interesting. Even the sticky rice and ice cream dessert was great. I’ll definitely be back here for a third time, and many more!

The food is good and atmosphere pleasant. The owner brought apps and dessert to the one regular at our table and not to the others or ladies at the table, not a practice that will get them the business they obviously need as most nights the restaurant is empty.

Had dinner here on Saturday night with my boyfriend. For starters, that it’s BYOB is great with a wine and liquor store right next to it(couldn’t get better). For starters we had the ocean roll(crap meat and shrimp fried) which was amazing! 8 rolls came with a sweet sauce! It was perfection. Next I had the lightly breaded chicken with broccoli, and he had an entrée that contained pineapple shrimp and spinach. They both tasted amazing and just left you with a desire for more. To end the night we had the raspberry icecream with apples and a crêpe. It was great! The price was well reasonable and the portions were huge. I will be visiting again. Also my boyfriend gets lunch from here all the time, according to him it’s the best Thai spot in East Brunswick. And the great pleasant experience I had, backs it up completely! See you soon Rice Factory!

The atmosphere gave off a cozy feeling I thought. I was not expecting that when I walked in but it was enjoyable. There were no issues with the arrival of the food or the service. They also had pictures of the specials on the table, which I had not seen before(who knows if those are the specials all the time). The menu was also very extensive with tons of interesting options. For an appetizer, the dim sum($ 9) was ordered. This was a ravioli stuffed with fresh crab meat and shrimp with a Worcestershire dipping sauce. I thought the Worcestershire sauce was odd with this kind of dish and I was right. It added no substance at all. The crab meat and shrimp did not appear to be fresh while the ravioli just did not taste like anything. It was a disappointing start to the meal. I ordered the Wild Boar as an entrée($ 25). The boar tenderloin was sautéed with garlic, green peppercorns, basil, mushrooms, and asparagus. This was a superb dish. The boar was extremely tender and the sauce was great as well. I do not remember tasting any asparagus in the dish, but everything else complemented the boar well. This was also my first time eating boar I believe and I was very impressed the way it was prepared. Will I go back? I will. Lots of entrees I was interested in trying.

First time here and the food was excellent. Our waiter Paul suggested basil fish. Flavor was mixture of spices and basil. Flavor explodes once you try the sauce. AMAZING. We also got the drunken noodles. That also was very flavorful. Wife thought it was a tad spicy. I thought it was just right. Sure I looked like a basketball player in the 4th quarter but I couldn’t stop eating. I also got the ruby tuna. Fish was fresh and had a smokey flavor. For dessert we got the ginger ice cream. Very smooth, creamy, and right amount of ginger flavor. Service was excellent. Very attentive but not over my shoulder. Finally found my favorite Thai place near monroe. We definitely bring our family back here again. Highly suggest this place for Thai food.

First time here, love Thai food and figured I would step outside Aroma and try somewhere new. Ordered: Chicken dumplings Drunked fried rice(chicken and shrimp) She got chicken pad see ew I got beef massaman curry(+1 spicy) Massaman curry was absolutely on point, some of the best I’ve had, beef was that slightly tender slightly chewy type of curry beef, excellent ! She loved the pad see ew, slightly heavy on the sauce but was delicious The drunken fried rice was great, lots of shrimp and the sauce used gave it a flavor that sets it apart from the rest, very very good Can’t wait to come back, next time I may ask for +2 spicy and do the massaman again, great spot and great service, very clean restaurant A+

5th time here. Food is always excellent. I order Pad Thai every time because it is sooooo good. Had garlic fish tonight — scrumptious. My husband almost licked the plate clean. Crème boule melts in your mouth. The owner is warm and gracious. Highly recommend this place

This is great tai food in a surprising area! Very enjoyable and byob. The décor inside is very pleasant and up to fashion. Great environment. The service needs a little help but the people are all so friendly!

My sisters, brothers and I all got together for dinner here this past Sunday night and we were all pleasantly surprised. I wish I had something bad to say. Maybe the worst thing was the server was over attentive lol. Some people don’t like that. It’s a BYOB which makes it slightly less expensive to eat there. If you forget there’s a liquor store conveniently located next door. There were 8 of us and we shared 3 appetizers(portions are small which is good for an appetizer) and we each had an entrée. The sweet and spicy Thai wings were AMAZING. It was my favorite part :) We all wound up string food because everything was so great. The drunken noodles I would advise ordering with a little bit of heat added to them. They were good but I needed a little bite. The Lad Na was so tasty. I would just eat the gravy/broth on its own. The pad Thai was good as well as Honey Glazed chicken with Macadamia Nuts. I wish someone would’ve ordered the curry because it smelt great walking by. Guess I will have to on my next visit. They don’t deliver but do offer take out and ordering and reservations online.

Good food, not so great service. We actually had to actively flag down the waiter several times to take our order or bring wine glasses. He also didn’t offer any suggestions or recommendations, did not speak to us in a friendly manner and was very cursory or clipped. In terms of the food, the pad Thai, chicken dumplings, chicken satay, red curry and chocolate soufflé were our favorites. They had a flaming fried ice cream too but again, the waiter lit it on fire for a few seconds so we really didn’t get to appreciate it. Even though the ambience was nice I might skip on the dine-in and do takeout instead. The service made for a very awkward dinner with our guests.

This restaurant replaced The Tomato Factory a year ago. The décor is classy and ambiance comfortable. They play some soothing background music as well. The owners are very personable and polite. The menu is extensive. I only ate there this one time, so I didn’t get a really good impression of the food. I usually order classics like Tom Kha Gai, green curry, or Pad Thai when evaluating a new Thai restaurant, but I started with the crab soup. It tasted very nice, but there was no crab in it, only sliced mushrooms. I also had one of the special entrées, which was stir-fried shrimp and diver and bay scallops over broccoli. It was presented beautifully, and cooked well. Not much heat, maybe I should have asked them to make it spicy. My wife had the spring rolls, and a batter-coated stir-fried chicken dish with cashews, also over broccoli. It was bland overall. The chicken strips were dry, and the batter a little raw on the inside on some of the pieces. This still seems like a nice place to eat, so I would give the menu another shot.

Extremely disappointing and wished there was a 0 star rating. To have the word Thai in the name is an embarrassment. Avoid ordering any traditional Thai dishes(especially Pad Ke Mao) as you will find, these dishes are far from decent for a Thai food joint.

Food was authentic Thai, we were so thrilled to finally find where our favorite waiter from Four Seasons ended up, and the service was stellar. If you’re used to the Four Seasons/Pad Thai spice level, it’s not as spicy at the Rice Factory so if you order a medium at Four Seasons, you can eat a hot level here.

Another fusion poser in the mist. Fellow trusted Unilocalers got this one wrong. I’m a massive fan of Thai cuisine. Of all the Asian deviations Thai may very well be my favorite, next to Sushi. With that said I can honestly without bias summon a low rating review having dined here a 2nd time. Unfortunately both visits produced less than satisfying results, to say it kindly. And when the word fushion gets cropped into the offering there’s always watered down possibilities. When it comes to Thai I want spicy ass Tom Yum soup $ 6 that makes my nose run from first swallow to last. Nope not here. The Pad Thai $ 13 which is a staple must be moist yet flovorful, I usually prefer shrimp. Dry as the desert. Small shrimp and tasteless chicken. Now at this point I figure I needed to grab something a lil less Thai, so Tamarind duck and a too subtle green curry chicken with bamboo shoots $ 18(remember the Exorcist green soup puke scene, well not quite, but I love the reference). The duck was slightly portioned, but done well. I wish the portion had more meat especially at $ 21. There was plenty of multiple different veggies within most dishes if that’s any consolation. The place is clean and they have a waterfall inside. A decent authentic feel unfortunately without the flavor or heat that I desire. If it’s about execution they Fail, but edible and of course there’s other less traditional plates available that may be better at a cost. If your not a hard core Thai connoisseur you won’t hate it. If you are expecting a truly authentic fusion dining experience, be prepared to avoid the Thai dishes. Over priced, especially for what it is. What it is is a poser fusion wanna be something appeasing Caucasians. The«Orchid» close by in the Summerhill shopping center is truly a magnificent fushion experience with significantly better prices. One word, pass.

This brand new Thai restaurant on Ryder’s Lane is located in a shopping strip. At first the outside and name make it feel like a chain restaurant. The décor inside is very nice and was very well put together. BYOB and there is a liquor store right next door. The menu was a little over priced for location and food quantity. The quality of the food was pretty good. This was definitely not the best but it could be my new spot for thai food. The appetizer trio didn’t scream value at $ 18 dollars for 3 options and portion size was small. The pan seared salmon was delish. It had sweet, sour, and acidic all on one plate. The dish was balanced very well. The service was prompt and food came out very fast. One appetizer, 2 entrees, one dessert $ 63 bucks.

Given that the East Brunswick area recently lost its beloved Thai Chili restaurant in Spotswood, the Rice Factory is a welcome addition to a town that otherwise lacks good Thai options. I’ll admit I was skeptical at first. Rice Factory is apparently owned and operated by the same family that ran its predecessor, the Tomato Factory, which I was never a fan of. But they might be onto something here with the new place. First impression was a good one. The place is beautifully decorated and spacious inside. I can’t really recall how the Tomato Factory looked, but this felt completely brand new in the very best of ways. As for the food… let me preface this first by saying I am no expert in Thai food. When I enjoy a Thai restaurant, it’s usually because of two things: the ingredients are super-fresh and high quality, and whatever dish I am eating leaves my mouth on fire. Everything we ate at the Rice Factory was definitely good quality. So a big check in the plus column there. However, none of their dishes were advertised as spicy, nor did any come with a lick of heat whatsoever. I’m not sure how spicy authentic Thai food should be, but I like it hot. Luckily, when I asked for hot sauce, I was given both a dish of Thai chili sauce, as well as dried Thai chili pepper flakes — the latter which left my tongue scorching afterward. I had no issue adding the heat on myself, and it actually enabled my wife and I to share our dishes, since she doesn’t like things too hot. What we ate: Fresh Basil Rolls — A healthy version of a spring roll, as it’s not fried or cooked. From the menu: Carrots, shiitake mushroom, romaine lettuce, Thai basil and mints wrapped in thin rice paper, and served with a side of Hoisin sauce. We loved them. Pad Eggplant — Eggplant and fresh basil sautéed in house special sauce. Delicious. Lots of veggies. Pad Pak — Sautéed mix vegetables and tofu with brown sauce. This one I didn’t enjoy as much as the Pad Eggplant. Even though I’ve gotten good at eating vegetarian a few times a week, I just can’t get into tofu — especially big, giant chunks of it. One thing I really liked is that they get a little char on the veggies. Not sure if they actually grill them first or sear them with a little dry wok heat — whatever it is, it adds a really nice flavor to the dishes. Extra bonus for having chicken fingers and french fries for the kids. The dessert menu looked wonderful, too. But we were too full to pile on any more. Next time, though, for sure. Service was excellent. Wishing these guys good luck, and hoping they eventually add delivery.
