First grocery store we visited when we moved here to New Jersey and their credit card machine went out, so they only accepted cash. No problem, they had an ATM, except it ran out of money. The store workers were collected and patient with customers as they waited for the system to come back up though. Overall, they had a good selection, pretty good prices, and since we’ve visited more grocery stores now, we’ve discovered they’re the only store that carries the frozen waffles my son likes, so we’ll be back.

Depressing place. Unfriendly unmotivated employees. After two years, I’m not going back.

I’ve downgraded my review of this Shop Rite. I almost went to two stars and the store is definitely trending in that direction. I am a capitalist, but ever since the lousy Acme and Pathmark went out of business, this Shop Rite has gotten a lot worse. There are many items that are hard to find now. There is no tahini in the store. Light hamburger buns disappeared for months before I complained. They recently returned to the shelves, but are more expensive. Bagel Thins are virtually nonexistent. The cheese my wife bought there for years has disappeared. The meats, never great to begin with, have gotten more expensive and now seem to be butchered by a child. Seriously! I have never seen such shoddy cuts anywhere. Try finding coconut at St. Patrick’s time. Can’t be done. White chocolate chips are never around at Christmas. And to top it off, Shop Rite is spending lots of money to fight the Walmart expansion. That’s serving your customers well! If Walmart will provide the items I want cheaper, good for them. Shop Rite can keep their customers not by limiting competition, but by serving them. Novel thought, eh?

This is the only store I will do food shopping at with the exception of a drive to Trader Joe’s. I have always been a ShopRite girl since I was little. My mother and Nana prefer Acme but they are so ridiculously overpriced! Shop Rite is very organized and shopper friendly, and their sales and prices can barely be beaten! I think the thing that made me stay a loyal customer here was when I left my purse in my cart near closing time a few years back. I called about 8 minutes after leaving, freaking out. The manager spoke with me and said he would send his cart guy out to look for it. After holding 5 minutes, they found it, safe and sound. I wanted to thank the manager and cart guy with a reward, but they both would not accept it. It showed me there are still good people in this world, and sometimes they work in your favorite grocery store!

I was once a faithful fan of the Shoprite in east Vineland, but this brand-spanking new Shoprite is so shiny and new and closer to my crib, so it’s where I do most of my shopping now. I love this and all Shop Rites for several reasons. 1. They are WAY cheaper than Acme and Pathmark 2. Their produce is much nicer and better priced than other area stores 3. They have crazy good sales on lunchmeat… I never pay more than $ 5 a pound for lunchmeat. Generally $ 3 a pound. 4. Can can sales in the winter to stock up the pantry 5. Decent food courts! This one has American, Chinese and Japanese food. 6. Meat cutters on site. Specifically this store also has a fishmonger on site, a good selection of organic products, a great bakery department, completely automated touch-free bathrooms, and an awesome cheese department that includes DiBruno brothers products. A few things I don’t like about this store: I don’t like the way it’s organized and as a result, I always forget something. The check out aisles are too narrow, so my kiddie cart always gets stuck and I have an anxiety attack during the rush of check out. The staff here are friendly, but they don’t treat you like friends like they do at the Lincoln Shoprite. I also don’t think this store has as much selection as the Licoln Shoprite. Overall, it’s a toss up for me between this Shoprite and the Lincoln Shoprite. There are pluses and minuses for both stores. This one is just more convenient for me.
