Compulsive Soundz

Joseph (Jay) and his crew did one hell of a job with my wedding reception on August 6, 2011. From the lighting, to the song selection, to the mixing, to Manny’s (bilingual!) MC’ing skills, everything went perfectly. I can’t say enough good things about their performance. They did a great job of playing all different kinds of music and really had a great feel for the crowd. I’ve gotten tons of compliments about them and, from the pictures I’ve seen, everyone had a great time on the dancefloor.
The one piece of advice/​constructive criticism I would offer is to be more clear about what is and isn’t covered under the contract. During some of our planning meetings I got a little uneasy that Joseph wouldn’t be fully prepared for what we wanted. But to his credit, he was always very responsive to my emails and texts and he showed he was trying hard to give us the party atmosphere we were going for. And in the end, damn! He came with it!
Again, great job to the whole crew and thank you for making our reception off the chain AND off the hook! I will not hesitate to recommend Compulsive Soundz to anyone who needs a DJ.

Joseph from Compulsize Soundz did an aaaaaaamazing job at our wedding on Aug 28, 2010! Not only was he easy to work with but he was professional and listened to all of our suggestions. We met up with him to go thru our wedding line up and immediately saw the genuine excitement in his face while we we’re bouncing music suggestions off of each other.
At the wedding ceremony, he kept the dance floor packed appealing to both our old and young guests. The party was crackin!

We were initially unsure about what this DJ could do, because we have not had the chance to check him out. However, recommendations from friends turned out right on the money. The setup, the music choices, and the professionalism was top-​notch, not to mention the price they asked. If we need another event that requires DJ services, we don’t need to look further, as we’ll use them again! This was for an 18^th bday celebration.

I used Compulsive Soundz for an event in September. I am from Seattle and working with him from out of state was very easy — he was very professional and timely in responding to all my questions and requests regarding the type of music I wanted at the event. If I have another event in the Palo Alto area, I would definitely contact Joseph again.
