Customer service was blah and their party trays for lumpias are overpriced. Update: Received a call from the restaurant as an attempt for service recovery. The prices for the lumpias were accidentally misquoted. Their prices are fair and their efforts in retaining their customers is appreciated.

I’ve been coming to this place ever since they first opened the restaurant. It is easy access from my job. My colleagues and I like to dine here for lunch almost every Friday. The owner of this restaurant knows my friends and I plus how fast we need our food served almost immediately. I only get 30 minutes of lunch time. The Chef and all the people who work here are super friendly. This is considered a fast food Filipino restaurant so you shouldn’t expect high quality food. I love ordering their Halo Halo and Gulaman drinks. I normally order the Grilled Chicken with rice and Chicken Mami(chicken soup). Both were really good.

1st time here was okay. My 2nd time here. I ordered their special mami with siopao asado and my bf ordered pancit with bbq from their Merienda combo. While waiting. –they gave us someone else’s order –then gave our order to the couple that ordered AFTER us –FINALLY got our food, the special mami had no taste –the siopao looked like someone dropped it on the floor and rewrapped with saran wrap. It was hard and it didnt look like it was the asado siopao. –pancit was good, the veggies on it though were still raw/hard –bbq was okay. The servers were nice, but they were making so many mistakes with ppls orders. –they didn’t tell us we could just get our«free soda» in the fridge.

It was my first time here with my mom & it was just okay. I got the tocilog combo which was suppose to come with bangus but I substitute it with loganisa instead. The tocino was dry and the longanisa tasted okay but had a different taste. I also noticed on the menu that there are alot of meat disbes and not enough vegetables. I love meat but I love my vegetables also.

Revisited this place, they were good and I got my delicious embotido. Went around noon and the only thing out was tapa for the tapsolilog Card users– no Amex

The place is pretty small but most people pay to-go. They have pretty good portions and the food was good nothing to complain about. But, the reason 3-stars is that they have too many meat dishes and not much vegetables dishes. I’d dine here more often is this was the case.

I ate here with my family and boyfriend for my birthday dinner, and the cashier/waitress kept flirting with my boyfriend… While we were ordering, she kept smiling and looking over at him the whole time. Then when our food came out(we both ordered the tapsilog) she gave him double the amount I had, his order came with a cup of vinegar while mines didn’t, and she handed his order over personally and put everyone else’s order at the edge of the table and made them pass it down… Overall bad service and only mediocre food.

I’m sad to read the bad reviews in here. Been a Kadoks eater for 8 years now. I’m going to give my time to give a fair review for this resto. I’ve eaten on all Kadoks restaurants: Daly City, Milpitas, and the newly opened at Union City. The first time I arrived here in California the first thing I looked for was a Filipino restaurant since I used to live in an area in Ohio where I’m the only Filipino around! Lol! Anyway, to every branch each person has a different favorite and some products/menu aren’t on the other branches, so to me I won’t generalized and give a bad review generally as a whole. I love their chicken inasal and my daughter(4) who is picky on food would ask for this whenever we pass by Kadoks and devours the whole plate of food all by herself! I love their bulalo! A comfort food to me especially when I get homesick reminds me of my mom’s home cooked meals and it’s soooo good to eat especially on a rainy day. On special orders, I love their beef mechado! And the sauce, to die for. I’m not a silog person but their tinapa is good… Their BBQ is a MUST order food there! I’m not going give a bad review for the variety of food I want in a restaurant, because I think that is unfair, I think people should give a review that is fair and just and not a review because I want to be a brat! All in all, this fast food resto serves a decent amount of food for the price you pay. I wouldn’t compare this restaurant to Barrio Fiesta, Kalesa or other Filipino known restaurants in the Philippines coz’ Kadoks has it’s reputation before this known names of Philippine based restaurants popped up! Kadoks has been here and was establish here for 20 plus years and still being in business for that long speaks for itself.

This place needs more perspective. Although the food is not bad it’s also not great as well. My tocisilog was ok but very small. My wife’s lugaw was like rice soup and taste like rice and water with garlic. The guy at the cashier looked like he was pissed off and irritated with us while we were ordering. We got our food in a different amount of time but it was not as hot as I was expecting it to be. The only thing that was good was a barbecue sticks. Overall this place is only two stars for me and my wife gives it a one star. I noticed some people give it 5 stars and others give it just one that just shows you that this place is not consistent what their stuff. I do notice though they have a lot of customers coming in and out so they are doing something right for others but more on the downside for others. I guess I’m one of those who will not be returning. The next time I want Filipino food I’ll just go to Jollibee.

First time at Kadok’s. It is a small place that seats about 28 people. First thing that caught my eye was the menu that was displayed on one wall and also displayed on two flat panel tv behind the cashier. It was very easy to read and understand. The place also looked relatively clean and well kept. I had one order of Tosilog and an order of arroz caldo. The tosilog was alright, which was served to me 15 minutes after I ordered it. It tasted good but the portion was a bit small for me. But for the price, I guess it was proportionate. The arroz caldo was served about 35 minutes after I order it. Seemed kind of long! The arroz caldo was seasoned very well, plus it was scalding hot just as I like it! The service that I received was good. The food and service merits two stars at the most. A criticism I have is that they constantly keep the back door open. I keep having to wave and swat away flies while eating. They should do a better job of keeping the back door closed. Is it worth coming back? Probably not! There are so many other Filipino restaurants in the area that serve better food.

Filipino food remains an oddity in the dining scene. When you break it down, its isn’t about the food as it is about eatery itself. As a dietician pointed out, food on the steam table and under the lamps isn’t as good, no matter what it is. Filipino food unfortunately is one that doesn’t fair especially well. Fresh is better. Kadok is not a turo-turo. Despite its juvenile attempts at interior decorating and dingy interior, Kadok turns out decent food at very affordable prices. Just ignore the oddball service, skittish and confused staff running around and let the intoxicating aroma of Pinoy barbecue draw you inside. If there was one significant contribution to the trendy food scene, it would be the Silog or Filipino breakfast consisting of garlic fried rice, fried egg and protein of your choice. Typically Filipino chacuterie(I’m sorry for trying, but we need to step up the game here) like longanisa, tocino, and tapa. Fried fish if you please. Its a multitasker that its good anytime of the day, but especially good as a drunk munchie. For five and some change and a pretty good wait(remember…no turo-turo) they will serve up a satisfactory rendition that will take up vacancy in your gut. Its about the price point.

Love, Love this place. I’m so happy that this Filipino restaurant opened near my house in Milpitas. «Mura, MASARAP, marami» That’s how I describe this Filipino restaurant. Sometimes I don’t have time to cook because of my hectic schedule. Kadoks then becomes my go to restaurant. My suggestion Half chicken Inasal for $ 7.50 Half fried chicken for $ 7.50 I always buy the party tray whenever I can because the noodles are a big hit whenever I bring them to the parties I go to. These are my suggestions because I love the way they taste. Like i said Again Mura, marami, MASARAP

All I can say is AWSOME, they have a very reasonable price, great food & one thing that separate them from the rest is the service. Friendly staff & owner Pam was very accommodating. Chicken inasal with Java is by far one best BBQ dish I’ve ever had.

I tend to always over order because the menu options all looks very mouth-watering(except the dinuguan — eeewww!), hence I over-eat and go on a food comma(not a fun feeling). If you want inexpensive, very good, and authentic Filipino food, this is a good place.

A couple years ago when they first opened this place was great… since then its gone downhill. This restaurant is not well maintained too bad for the owner the customer will not k be back anymore after they will taste the food greasy, salty, burned half cooked, and my java rice so hard and spoiled and employees are not clean you will loose your appetite to eat if you see them to serve your food, lots of clutter and the towel they used to wipe the table looks so dirty I don’t know where did they used it before wiping the table, nothank you, no thank you. not coming back anymore .the owner must hire a descent server, or provide a uniforms for their employees, Cleanliness is the top priority when you have restaurant business .from the tables, kithchen, restroom, plates and spoons. not recommendable, Milpitas branch. …won’t be coming back for awhile untill things change.

Not coming back. Will not recommend. Food is whatev. Service is — they’d rather play billiards in the back — no one checks on you. Bathroom…Disgusting. It’s the epitome of the last restaurant you wanna eat at.

You know it’s a Filipino place when they start playing Bryan Adams in the background the cook is singing too. Food is made to order which is great because it’s fresh. The price isn’t that bad too so don’t compare this place to Kalesa or Barrio Fiesta because there is a huge price difference. People can be stupid and complain about the steak is different in Denny’s when it’s not from Morton’s steakhouse. Don’t complain about food taking forever. Would you rather have your food sit there buffet style for hours or have it fresh? It does take time for food to cook so hold onto your pants. Their Siapao is pretty good too if you haven’t tried it because there is more filling in the inside than outside. Filipinos are notorious for cutting corners and giving you less and charging more but not theirs.

The World According to Noelle Allergic Girl’s Guide to Life Kadok’s is located in a small strip mall. Parking lot has only one entrance(in and out), parking spaces are small. The dining room is small but we were able to get a table for three. We ordered: Chicken Adobo Silog Lumpia Shanghai Pork BBQ Pancit Bihon Chicken Adobo was tender and could have been considered delicious if the cook wasn’t heavy handed with the sugar– it was so sweet. The lumpia Shanghai was cooked well but was tasteless, comprised mostly of vegetables and definitely lacking flavor. The Pork BBQ was grilled to perfection but like the Adobo was overly sweet. The garlic fried rice was weak tasting. The Pancit Bihon was decent with a generous amount of vegetables. I did inquire if there was shrimp in the Lumpia Shanghai and Pancit Bihon and was informed that there wasn’t any shrimp which was good because of my food allergies. Customer service was extremely friendly. Tables and everything inside was clean. It was quite hot inside the restaurant– too bad they lack air conditioning. Hopefully, the cooks won’t be so heavy handed in certain dishes with the sugar. Noelle’s Notes Good service, decent prices, so-so food, clean restaurant. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.
