Terrible Chinese food… Lobster lo mein special was not good, but what do you expect for $ 10. Dim Sum is not supposed to be served cold… Crap restaurant.

Well, since I don’t think the restaurant will be opened again, might as well, leave my last 5 stars here. =) Another reason I left 5 stars for this restaurant, since I took my dad there last time. He is not in here now. It was pretty good memory, we order lobster noodles and some dim sum, and the food is pretty good.

Pretty average for dim sum that is inexpensive. I got to try the chicken feet, gai lan, har gau, fried meat dumpling, and glutinous rice in lotus leaf. The chow mein dish was like stale or left outside really long. We also got siu mai, fried shrimp balls, egg custard, but i didn’t try. I gotta come back to try the lobster noodles for $ 10! And some other stuff like crab.

It’s a four not because it’s actually great. It’s because of the nostalgia associated now that I look back. Even though my parents forced me to go to this restaurant more times than a truck driver frequents the gas station, these employees have watched me grow up throughout high school and college. They weren’t just a restaurant, but a sweet, warm community here and I really miss that. They really honor customer loyalty by adding discounts from time to time and having you skip the waiting list. The environment and prices are worth its value. It’s nice enough to have a big fancy dinner for family or the company department without your wallet vanishing. The dim sum is inconsistent. However, their dinner is hearty. My favorite dishes are the stuffed eggplant with shrimp and the lobster noodles. If there’s one thing they can make any anti-seafood customer love, it’s the shrimp.

This place is actually pretty good if you factor in the price. All dim sum are only $ 2.00 and the quality aren’t terrible. Certainly, there are some hit and miss. The dim sum here are not made to order so occasionally you will find some sitting on the cart for too long and turned cold. Those which came fresh out of the kitchen are actually decent. It is no competition for(slightly) better South Bay dim sum places like Fu Lum Mum or Hong Kong Saigon but it is on par with Great Mall Mayflower and ABC. They have a special Lobster Lo Mein dish for only $ 9.99. The portion is very generous and you really get a whole mid size lobster. It can feed 5 – 6 people easily. If you want quality dim sim this is not the place to be. If you want okay dim sum at bargain price, check this place out.

Since it was mother’s day, we expected quite the crowd/wait time. However this place was spiraling way out of control.(Ex: People yelling, waiters frantically running around, and plates dropping) We waited for about 20 – 30 minutes for a seat and saw many people leave angrily. We sat down and they immediately took our orders. I thought, «hey perhaps it won’t be too bad after all». Boy was I wrong! The soup came 20 minutes later and we immediately cleaned it out due to our hunger. The wait time was at least 25 min in between each course. We chose to order the special for about $ 48 which feeds 2 – 3 people. The order included: Squab, fish/Veggie dish, soup, dessert, lobster lo mein, and clams.(However, we swapped out lobster lo mein for a seasonal crab dish) They approached us around the 2nd entrée and told us they ran out of clams! So we figured we were able to order whichever we preferred. *DING wrong again! We replaced it with a sauteed beef dish. The soup was pretty bland. The squab was poorly displayed and had barely any meat. The sauteed beef dish was decent, could have been less salty. The fish/veggie dish was quite delicious and was probably the only dish I won’t complain about. The crab dish came out the latest. It was extremely fresh, but the ingredients were kind of random. Oh and the rice had the weirdest smell, so we basically just ate the entrees without rice. BIGNONO, for asians! Everyone around us seemed to be running out of patience. The look of disgust and dissatisfaction seemed to be plastered on people’s faces. I’ve never left a restaurant hungry and this is seriously a first! I’m a tiny girl and it doesn’t take much to feed me! This restaurant has plummeted so far south in terms of service and quality of food. I’ve been here three times VERYVERY long ago and I’m utterly disappointed.

They got crabs! We were in the Bay Area for Easter weekend, and on Good Friday needed some no-meat Catholic approved food. So near the Great Mall in Milpitas, we sought a place that had seafood and vegetables, and ended up at this Chinese restaurant. Interesting that in the same complex was Lee’s sandwhiches and L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. The outside looks umimpressive and even run down. Inside, was a lot better though their carpets were dirty. I guess their dim sum carts and all the people that come in contribute to the foot tracks. The bar looks pretty nice as their bright red wall pieces. At least at night, they have cloth covered tables over the wood chairs. There was nobody in the place at 5:15 but half full by 6PM. There is an expansive menu, and features lobster and crab dinners for $ 22 a person. But we opted for Shrimp Sizzling Rice Soup, Stir Fried Veggies with Shitaake Mushrooms, and Sweet and Sour Cod. It was served with rice and Oolong Tea. The waitress was nice, brought out drinks right away, and was attentive without being a helicopter hover craft. The soup came out first. The delicate shrimp in a broth also contained carrots, bamboo shoots, diaknon radish, and mushrooms. The hot rice sizzled as she mixed it into the rest of the soup at tableside. The veggie stir fry had broccoli corwns with very few stems, mini bok choy, carrots, onions, and my favorite gai lan, along with large mushrooms. It was tasty and fresh, good overall. The sweet and sour cod was good mainly because the cad stayed crispy, with fresh pineapple, carrot, bell peppers, and onions in a good sweet and sour sauce. All this was $ 37(tax included) along with one coke(for me) and the rest had tea. The clientele was all Asian and they had on a big screen TV with Chinese program in the background. Definitely a decent place for us who didn’t want to commit a food sin on a holy hungry day.

(+) –cheap –no wait(thursday) (-) –parking kind of sucks –siu long bao(shangahai/soup dumplings) suck. no soup in them Came here on a thursday around 12:30 and there was no wait at all. I was surprised that this place had dim sum, everything is 2 dollars except the xlarge dishes which are 5 bucks. Food is not great, not bad, just mediocre but for 2 dollars I think it’s a pretty good value. Lobster noodles are also cheap, only 13 bucks. theres only a couple parking spots in front of this place reserved for them other than that youll you have to park over near kinkos and then walk over. Good place to get cheap dim sum.

TIP: ask for sharon when ordering, she hooks it up big time. this review is for the wedding dinner, which was alright. the groom’s side were all on time, so we pretty much just waited for the bride’s side to arrive fasionably late before dinner could begin. one of the balloon decorations was shaped like a giant cock(the base had two balloons). the first dish was good, jellyfish had good texture(can’t really f$@k that up), fried rice was kinda damp and lumpy(good for next day lunch). i heard someone from other tables screaming this is hot and sour soup when instead it’s supposed to be shark fin soup. lobster was garlicy, salty, small, and not as fresh(meat sticking to shell). the stir-fry geoduck aka mirugai with snow peas was not bad. they changed plates only once(should be at least twice). the groom gave an oscar worthy wedding speech. i was bummed out when i didnt even tried the cake. beverages were awesome. water was crisp and refreshing. free tsing dao on the house. We also had stella and blue moon from one of the groomsmen passing them out with a white ice tray like a waiter. speaking of waiters, another one came in to help out from moongate garden as the usher. the groom was mad at the usher. jeans with holes. saggy. that is all.

Being in Norcal, there’s not many good dim sum restaurants unless you’re in SF. However, when I do come home from college I almost always come to this place. Sometimes it’s for mediocre dim sum, but for the most part it’s for the Lobster Lo Mein that I absolutely adore. Sometimes they have the $ 9.99 special for a big plate, but recently I think the price has been bumped back to $ 11.99. As for service, you know how it is at asian restaurants… speak their language/joke with them and they love you to pieces. I get my lobster fix from here, but that’s pretty much it.

I don’t know where to begin. Let’s first start with the fact that someone apparently had some big 18th birthday party(who would want it there for their 18th bday none the less?) but as I digress… they were blasting music from next door(which was space allotted for private events — except this time it was allowed only for the party to move from the dining area to the music area). Not only was it loud, it was pounding with base and I felt that I was at a club instead of a chinese restaurant. After mentioning to have them turn the bass down, they didn’t do it and many of the patrons were really annoyed. I figure unless you’re buying the entire restaurant, then they should have advised people before making reservations. Also, they were poorly managing the place with people everywhere as a cluster F. The food was sub par but from what my family says their dim sum is ok. I will NEVER go back to this establishment no matter how cheap their dim sum was. I have posted one of the dishes that were supposed to have seafood on top but instead it looked soupy along with just poorly presented. I will have to admit we were there pretty late and the kitchen staff looked like their food was better prepared then the crap that was delivered to us. Even the crab which we paid market price for was cooked so-so and things came out rushed and thrown together. Oh and did I mention that the water that was given to us came from the washing area? What water fizzles unless carbonated right? It was very hazy, and cloudy. We asked them to bring fresh water and it wasn’t much better. But at least this time it didn’t look like dishwashing water… it looked at least from the tap(unfiltered). Take it for what its worth… this is one of the poorest run establishments and I will even eat panda express over this place!

I have no one to blame but myself, fellow Unilocalers. You tried to warn me about the awful service and lackluster, overpriced food, but I dined here anyway. For six diners, we ordered six dishes. Most of them were underwhelming. Hot and Sour Soup: Yuck, very sour. It tasted mostly of vinegar. Overpoweringly like vinegar. I think they also added pickled mustard, which I don’t like. Needless to say, I didn’t finish this. I would recommend against ordering this. There are better soups available. Honey walnut shrimp: My first shrimp had a fishy taste, as if the shrimp were old. The other ones were okay. Still, not off to a good start. The shrimp are small in size and only slightly battered. They were also shaped more like scallops than shrimp. I was not impressed. I would not recommend ordering this dish. Mongolian Beef: Actually pretty tasty, but a disproportionately large amount of green and white onions in accompaniment. This was mildly spicy. I say mild because I could eat it. Gai Lan: Nothing to write home about. Just your average dish of gai lan with sauce. Very similar to what you can get during weekend dim sum, but a larger portion. Tofu dish: I didn’t try this, but it was chopped up tofu with bits of meat, either chicken or pork, I don’t know. It came in a metal chafing dish. We didn’t eat much of this, see below. Special Lobster Noodles: WTF? $ 31.50 for half a lobster and some noodles? I mean, at least the lobster tasted fairly fresh, but we definitely only got half of it, even though they included the mostly inedible head and tail. The portion of noodles was pretty large and the sauce was tasty. However, the lobster wasn’t THAT good to warrant such a high price, especially after so many other Unilocalers mentioned that they could get the dish w/o the«special» part for only $ 10. Meh. This was my favorite dish of the bunch though. The facilities were actually pretty clean, which surprised me because other Unilocalers complained that it was dirty. The tables are mostly large in size, probably because most parties are large families. They are also spaced fairly wide apart, which is nice so you can have a conversation without worrying about intruding on other diners. Service was atrocious. It took us forever to get glasses of ice water, even though our group had people who speak both Mandarin and Cantonese. Also, when we found a rubber band in the tofu dish and waved down a server, she basically told us that it wasn’t anything that could hurt us and gave us a lot of attitude. This was even when the person who discovered the rubber band was a PREGNANTWOMAN! They finally agreed to comp us the dish and take it away, but that’s just shoddy customer service. I mean, it’s not like we ate much of it. They didn’t even replace it. The only good thing about this meal was the e-mien in the lobster noodle, but not at that price. I would not return to this place. I would have given it 1 star, but for the tasty lobster noodles.

Yes, it’s cheap dim sum($ 2 for small, medium, and large items). But quality wise… well let’s say you get what you pay for. There’s not a huge selection of dim sum items, and I was pretty disappointed by most of them. The turnip cake was mostly filler instead of turnip, the fried rice dumplings with meat inside were overly chewy and cold. Also, the lobster lo mein? The noodles were good, but the lobster? It was pretty much all shell and starch to replace the real lobster meat, which was mysteriously lacking. Overall, disappointing for dim sum, but I’d go if I were on a budget.

I had a new client take me to lunch here. It is very inexpensive, but then the offerings other than a few are not very remarkable either. We went there for lunch during the week and my client is a regular there and a heavy tipper so we got preferential treatment. We were served nice hot soup right after we sat down. The rest was off the Deem Sum carts. It is the usual brusque service of offerings, and finger pointing with the portions cut with scissors. The baked and steamed pork buns are OK, but don’t hold a candle to Yank Sing in SF, but then like I pointed out above, you are not paying for Yank Sing prices either. I found the food very pleasant, and fairly inexpensive by Bay Area standards. So if your are looking for pretty good Deem Sum and very reasonable prices you might want to give this place a try.

There are some very delicious things happening here. There are also some very mundane things, as well. I went here with two friends to get some South Bay dim sum. Perhaps my favorite thing(which I had never seen before) was the snail in spicy soup/sauce. It came with eight snails and my friend and I split the order. Delicious, tender snail meat coated in a soup that’s just spicy enough to make you feel it. The rice noodles were nice, but I felt that there wasn’t as much char siu as I usually find. However, the char siu itself was delicious. Other things were just as you’d expect them. I’d definitely come here again, but I also want to try some other places, considering the vast expanse of places to get dim sum in the South Bay.

We had dimsum here on the weekend. The food is not as good as Saigon or Pan tao. The shrimp eggrolls were soggy. Everything else was pretty good. They give you lots of porridge but it’s really watery. The pork bun is sweet brown bun that looks like dessert instead of the white one I like. Only thing good is the price and parking. But I’d rather pay more for better food.

Hey Unilocalers, thanks for the tips! Without you, I would not have known that dim sum is ONLY $ 2 here. $ 2 dim sum and excellent lobster lo mein that is only $ 10 for a large portion is what grabbed me as I read the reviews for this place. I was thrilled by what I had read and had to try out the place. I had dinner at King Crab before but never had dim sum. If it was not for the tips from my fellow Unilocalers, I would have went to my regular spot at ABC Seafood in Milpitas for dim sum. I always ask for the floating flower tea(Chrysanthemum tea) when I have dim sum. The tea is $ 2. We also grabbed the large fried shrimp balls from the cart and it was $ 5.95 and not $ 2. It was enormous though. It was the biggest fried shrimp balls I have seen so I didn’t mind paying $ 5.95 for two fried shrimp balls. If you have dim sum with me, you will find that I always have to have an order of siu mai. I love siu mai. The siu mai here was big and good. Wait, let me rephrase that, «It is big, good, and inexpensive!». I believe I can speak for most people when I say that, «I like big, good, and inexpensive!» Evaluations: Price — 5 Stars: I love $ 2 dim sum! Can’t beat that deal. Food — 4 Stars: It was good! Service — 3 Stars: The staff is limited in their English but it’s ok, I can speak with my hands. Décor — 3 Stars: Your typical Chinese restaurant. I got there before 11 am on a Sunday to beat the rush as a Unilocaler had suggested because people started pouring in around noon. I have friends who can eat and loves dim sum. I’ll take them here for the $ 2 dim sum next time so they don’t put a dent in my wallet. Last Note: Come to King Crab for inexpensive and delicious dim sum!

Dim sum review only. It’s actually pretty good at King Crab. The price is right since all of the steamed dishes are $ 2, and there is more variety compared to dim sum at Dynasty. I really like the baked pineapple bun with custard. Yum. It’s a popular dish since we waited over an hour for it. However, it is delicious when it is fresh. In addition, I tried the lobster mein. It’s a good deal for $ 10. I think the restaurant loses money since lobster is expensive. This dish at Won Kee costs at least $ 20 The one thing that I would not recommend is the soft tofu dessert. It is really watery. For those who complain about parking, there is plenty of parking in the Save Mart area. It’s just a couple more steps to walk to the restaurant.

I walked into here expecting all types of crab dishes. Little did I know it was a dim sum place disguised as a seafood restaurant. Name aside, it wasn’t that bad. I haven’t had lobster over noodles since my unforgettable time in Hong Kong a couple years ago. I wanted the noodles in cream sauce, but this version was more braised noodles topped with lobster. Probably healthier than the cream sauce, but somehow it left me yearning for something better. Dim sum is… well, dim sum. How different can it be from place to place? The only thing I notice is the cart ladies here were pushier than normal; putting dishes down on your table even before you give them the approval. Efficient service, reasonable prices, solid three star place for lunch.
