I’m afraid I cannot support the enthusiastic reviews on this webpage. My visit to the Milpitas Health Spa was a disappointment. I asked for an acne facial(of which I’ve had many) because my skin needed exfoliating and extractions, which I told the aesthetician while pointing out problem areas on my face. There was a brief examination of my skin through the magnifying mirror and a whispered consultation in Chinese between my aesthetician and, I assume, the salon owner. I received a scrub cleansing, steam application, and a 15-second application of some suction at 1 or 2 places on my face. My skin was rubbed with a stone(?!) and, later, scraped with a plastic tool.(Exfoliation? Beats me). Several different creams and lotions were slathered on my face, wiped off, and reapplied. No extractions were done by hand. Of the 1 hour spent on this treatment, approximately 15 minutes was spent treating my skin and pores. The rest of the time was spent massaging my head, my face, my upper body, my upper arms(really, this just went on and ON), and leaving me on the table in the dark while the numerous creams and lotions on my face did whatever it was they were supposed to do.(I wiped off some of the stuff off my face and applied it to my cuticles.) It seems to me that leaving emollients on a face that is prone to breakouts is counter-productive as best. This is not the worst facial I’ve ever had but did not justify the $ 70 price tag that came with it. The staff was polite and the facility seemed clean and well maintained but the whole experience was adequate at best. Considering the abundance of facial salons in the South Bay, I would suggest skipping this one and trying your luck somewhere else.

I went their for facial and told them that I am pregnant and do not want to apply anything chemical on my face and only herbal. Amy and her assistant assured me that their products are herbal and does not contain chemicals. Amy recommended acne facial. Her assistant Patricia applied this face pack on my skin which made my face start to burn. I asked her to remove it after few mins as I could not bear it. I got a little suspicious and asked the name of the company they use their product from. When I went and checked it online, indeed the treatment contained high doses of acids which my doc said are harmful for pregnant woman especially with high chances of getting absorbed in blood stream and compromising the health of baby. I am planning to complain against them to consumer board because these is very unethical business practice, compromising on the health of customers in order to push their treatment and lack of complete knowledge of their products. Very very sad. I have specially created my Unilocal account to report this.

Best Investment I have ever made in my life!!! I am so happy with what Amy did for my eyebrows & eye liners that I showed that to my friend. In fact, my friend likes it so much that she made an appt. to have hers done too. It’s a life changing experience. When I get up in the morning & look at my own reflection in the mirror, it looks so good even without make up. The nice eyebrow & the eyeliners gives you a smart, sharp & uplifting look even without any other make up apply to your face. Shortly after this was done, I flew to Europe to visit my daughter. She has no idea that I have my eyebrows done. Her first reaction was that I looked really great. Despite the fatigue, having no make up, I looked fresh and when she realized that was all due to the effect of the«eyes», she wanted to have hers done too when she comes back to U.S. Amy also did a facial for me. My face felt so good afterwards. I am ready to have her done a peel for me too. She’s the BEST. I think every woman should do it. You feel at least 10 yrs younger & prettier too. Chris O

I’ll start by stating that I have only had about 5 facials in my entire life, so I am no expert, but of the facials I HAVE had, this one was absolutely awesome. Amy was very nice and really seemed to know what she was doing. If I was just rating the facial, it would definitely earn 5 stars. My skin was 100% better after she was done. My only complaint was that I was in the room closest to the lobby. They had the television on the entire time and its noise was drowning out the soothing music playing in the room. Plus, I could hear phones ringing and other conversations. It wasn’t as relaxing as I had hoped. I also had a bit of a problem understanding some of Amy’s English. Personally, I think that’s more my problem than hers, so I definitely wouldn’t take off any stars for that. Their current location is very professional.

Ok this place is amazing. Amy is so sweet and she is so concerned about you and your well being. I always feel comfortable and her hands feel like my moms hands. Very comforting. I have also got the permanent eyeliner here and it is so perfect. I get complements on my permanent eyeliner all the time. Im thinking about going back for my eyebrows. She has been doing this for a long time because a lot of people know who she is. She has done some peoples permanent eyeliner 20 years ago and it still looks outstanding. I’ve seen the proof. Thanks Amy!

I can’t speak more highly of Amy’s Skin Care in Milpitas. I rarely go south of Burlingame, but I will drive the 50 minutes down to the South Bay to get my deep tissue massage and microdermabrasion facial. From an overall perspective, Amy and her staff are extremely nice and professional. She explains everything that she’s using on you and what the results will be. She is a talented aesthetician, with skills that range from extractions to eyebrow tattoos. What I liked most about how Amy runs her spa is that she has the expertise to recommend what is best for your skin, and she doesn’t treat her clients as a way to make a profit. A friend that I visited the spa with WANTED to get the pricey microdermabrasion, but Amy recommended that she not get it because it wasn’t right for her skin-type. Other than the facial, I have to say that the massage that I had here was the best that I’d ever received. My massage therapist didn’t speak much English, but that didn’t change my experience. I work out a lot, and I had knots in my calves and shoulders from the Insanity disc the hubs and I are trying out, and he worked them through the pain. It was the kind of massage that hurt so good — as soon as it was over, I felt amazing. In addition to the fantastic service and expert treatments, I really liked the personal feel of the spa. It was very clean and inviting — this as a result of Amy’s standards and staff. Here, you don’t just feel like a customer, you feel like someone really cares about your skin. I would recommend going with a group of your girlfriends — fun times and all women bond over activities that make us look good. It’s our«basketball». And really, who needs an excuse to pretty yourself up?
