Arrowhead Drive-In Restaurant

If you’re the kind of person who loves road trips because you occasionally happen upon treasures of lost Americana, you need to stop at the Arrowhead Restaurant on your way down I-​80. This is one of the more unique and authentic places I’ve visited.
Everything about this place is a time warp. The food is simple and well-​prepared, if not health conscious. No effing kale here. Though most everything is deep fried or grilled, you won’t leave feeling weighed down, as the portions are from an era before super-​size fries and abdomens. Correspondingly, the prices seem frozen in about 1992.
Before you assume that this all means the restaurant is time worn, I should also add that it is as sparkling clean and impeccably run as your grandma’s kitchen (which for other reasons is an apt metaphor). I know my family will look for an excuse to come back next time we pass through.

Quick and cheap. It is a good place for homemade pie. Get a pig in the blanket or two. I’ve come here since I was a kid for these… It’s a fried pork chop sandwich. They are delicious.

a good place for coffee and pie. the soup was good but overcooked, the fries are good. the sandwiches are good, but not great. the pie was nice, but not great.
lots of fried things, prices are very cheap, and the portions are enough but not large.
the thing to have is apparently a Pig, which is perhaps a tenderloin in other words, but we found out on the way out.
we would definitely go back, but not for a night out or expecting much.

Food was very good, quick and reasonably priced! I ordered a gardenburger and when Tue waitress brought it, she said gardenburger but it was definitely meat. Had I been vegetarian I would have sent it back; which is why I give 4 stars instead of 5. I am not vegetarian so I ate it anyway and it was very good. Big slices of pickle, fresh red slice of tomato. My boyfriend got a peice of German chocolate cake which was really good. I got Apple crumb pie which was packed with perfectly cooked apples.
