I came to Body Mechanics with a simple goal. To building on some improvements I had made after starting to take yoga to manage help my headaches brought on by neck problems. I always just felt I was coping with my issues but never felt like I was getting better or making progress with past PT or chiropractic visits. I had met Jes through yoga before she joined Body Mechanics and when she told me about the Body Mechanics approach, I was intrigued. What impressed me from the start was taking the time to do an overall body and functionality assessment. While I was there for«neck pain», this was the first time someone took the time to actually look at the whole system. To this day, I believe this was a breakthrough moment for me. This is what makes the practice at Body Mechanics unique. I really believe it was the time and willingness Jes and the the others take to look at the whole person that leads to a better outcome. While I have since moved away from Milwaukee, I still use the tools that I was given to manage my issues with great success. I am thankful for Body Mechanics and especially the help from Jes. If you feel broken, go to Body Mechanics and they will fix you up!

I’ve suffered from chronic headaches and migraines for about 15 years and have tried every avenue I can think of for relief. Most doctors tend to want to run a scan, then they find out it’s nothing obvious and put me on some random med which they wonder to themselves if it will be the cure I’ve been looking for. It never is. The last few years I have tried to focus more on non-medicated relief and that has taken me to acupuncture(see my review of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Services) and now physical therapy. I had done some PT before but due to the way my insurance bills I need the office to submit claims a certain way to keep it on the cheap end for me and I never found a place that worked well with my insurance, until now. And what a great place I found. Body Mechanics is very conveniently located for me downtown. I have been working with Brent and he has been excellent. He seems very thorough, he explains what he is doing/thinking in detail and in general I think I’ve been put on a path that can help me feel better. Through Body Mechanics I have been introduced to dry needling, which is different from acupuncture. To my best understanding, dry needling inserts a needle into the most tender area of a muscle(and my issues are almost certainly muscular related) with the therapist looking to illicit a twitching response from that muscle. Once the twitching stops the needle is removed. The needling is a bizarre sensation but for the most part it doesn’t hurt unless you have a lot of muscle tension(which I do). So far it does seem to help release some of the pain an tension from my worst muscles which in turn provide some relief for my head. A great location, awesome staff and pain relief is all I could hope to look for in a PT and this place has all that. I would happily recommend Body Mechanics to anyone looking for a great physical therapist.

Met with Susana the Physical Therapist because of pain in my knee after jogging. She was great. Very knowledgeable — took her time got to the root cause of the problem. Analyzed all of the muscle joints and did a complete checkup — then She suggested some exercise — I was very happy
