I always here the place is going to close next week and then I hear for now it is open. It is a tough business owning a gay bar in Milwaukee. I always thought there was some kind of invisible crowd that only goes to this place. I never hear anyone saying they are going there. So one night I decided to go. The service was borderline mostly because the bartender was more interested in his phone and who ever he was on the other end. I think this gay could close I won’t miss it.

:) Wondering around Walkers Point on a hot sweaty saturday my lady friend and I needed a drink this was the only place open so Yay for that. We went in it had some fun poppy dance music playing and the video on the screens. I was a fan good vibes. Amongst the bar was some cute couples chatting away very nice seemed happy. We grabbed a drink 2 shandys please! Decently priced for what I would expect to pay. It was a bummer though that the beer selection was definitely not exciting Yikes no good local brews! So thats the only reason I have to knock back a star poor beer selection. Your a bar c’mon! Anyways this place seemed neat open, good vibes otherwise. Would stop in again sometime be interested to see this place on a saturday night.

Visiting from San Francisco and being in the Brew City my boyfriend and I wanted to have a local beer. We decided to spend our money at a Gay bar. Too bad we choose the wrong one. It is a nice bar with a beautiful outdoor area. It was Sunday evening and I guess Brew City boys just do not go out like they do in San Francisco. Maybe they just do not come to this bar. If that is the case Lance the bartender is not helping. Our service was borderline rude. There was a very nice guy Brian who was a customer… he was the only other person in the bar. He raved about Brian«he is the best bartender». I guess that is why he was there. As for Mark and I, we left wondering why we were treated so poorly Marks sister is moving to Milwaukee so I am sure we will be back. However, Boom will not be part of the trip.

Awkward. I’ve been to a few divey bars before where guys will look you up and down, and It may just be that I’m younger than the typical crowd who attends this place, but it really isn’t my style. The music was pretty decent(until someone put on some twangy country stuff) most bars in Milwaukee utilize the new modem day jukeboxes so you have the option to put your own music on, unfortunately that means someone can put their favorite music on too… There are better bars to attend if you’re just looking to chill out.

Great space — friendly crowd. I liked it.

I like this place a lot, both sides of it. I do recall one occasion, unfortunately, when one of bartenders refused to accept my passport and did not serve me a drink. So thank goodness for the Room. Evidently I had kicked this dude’s ass at Life years before. The board game.

The newer«Room» side does seem to be kind of swank, although it’s not really. I do prefer the darker lighting of the«Boom» side. However, Thursdays at Room have karaōke and 2-for-1TALL Pinnacle vodka drinks — two drinks for like $ 4.25! The music on both sides is also great. They play newer and more progressive stuff than La Cage, believe it or not, even though they don;t have a DJ.

This place is so hard to figure out. First, there’s a totally old-school gay bar on one side. Small, dark windows, dart boards, pool table, wood paneling and older dudes. They have pretty strong drinks, friendly bartenders and a laid back crowd. Now — on the other side it’s some ultra swank, trendy bar full of the pretty boys of Milwaukee. Fine if you’re going to sip cosmos and call your best friend, «Girl» all night. That’s not me. So — of course we stick to the original«Boom»(or Boom Boom Room as we like to call it.) and skip«Club Boom» on the other side. I mean, if that other scene is your thing, you’ll enjoy it(but it’s usually 95 f-ing degrees in there.)
