After ordering and tipping, my banks text alert informed me I was charged $ 14.00 on an $ 11.00 bill(post tip). When I brought it up to the owners attention she denied she overcharged me and accused me of trying to take money from her. I showed her my online bank statement 10 minutes after purchase. I will NEVER be back. Maybe she thought I didn’t have text alerts. These people are crooks.

Wonderful breakfast while visiting the Milwaukee area. Five stars! Would definitely recommend this place for meeting friends or couples getting together for coffee or tea. The neighborhood was also very nice, lots of interesting shops and other restaurants in the area.

A great urban liberal coffee house. the place looks great and is on a cool part of the city of Milwaukee. there is ample cute sitting and the prices reasonable for this coffee house that actually looks like a coffee house and not just something constructed overnight on a busy street. There are games and boards and plenty of unique chairs and tables in this place and they make good caffeinated drinks.

Definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in Milwaukee. If I didn’t have Fuel so close to me, I’d be here much more often. So many things to love about this place: Anodyne coffee(about that life), Rishi tea, the best sweet matcha tea latte!, rotating soup selections, tasty sandwiches, a good amount of vegan and vegetarian options, cozy vibes, and a good location.

Pros: The food is delicious Cons: very slow paced and the customer service could use some improvement Overall, I would recommend going here for a casual lunch just make sure you have time to wait for your food.

What a great place! Lots of yummy options that could also be vegan, which made it hard just to choose 1 thing! I got the tofu burrito and it was delicious(and huge!). I also got a soy hazelnut latte– creamy, not overly sweet, and a generous size. I ate on a cozy couch in the room off to the size and was in bliss. Staff was very friendly and attentive and it looks as if they make everything fresh and onsite. Would definitely recommend for a coffee, a meal or both!

My husband and I are spending the weekend in Milwaukee for our anniversary and found Brewed Café. The service was great and the guy at the counter recommended the hop happy beermosa which was FANTASTIC! We live the atmosphere and reminds us of a place back home. Can’t wait to come back!

Brewed is the perfect spot for a little java and an intimate conversation. The bright décor is eclectic in a good way. Turn the corner to the right of the brew bar and you’ll find more seating, as well as the women’s room. There’s not much to hate on with Rishi and Anodyne as the brands served. Oh, and the baked goods are excellent. I love the everything bagels for breaky. For lunch or snacking, the pita and hummus plate, sandwiches or chips and salsa are all tried and true choices. And yeah, I’ve been to meet the duchess of this establishment, Lisa A., on a few occasions.

Sunday morning after yoga the fam and i were looking for a quick bite that didn’t require us to wait for 30 minutes for a table. We started off at Comet Café and that was like 30 or 40 minutes before we would be sat. So stumbled up on Brewed Café. I will admit i was a little thrown off, I was told hey there is not waiter/waitress its all counter service. Im like oh ok no problem. I walk to the counter to place an order. Im looking at the art work, the menu and the people who are coming and going. A woman who was looking at the baked goods came up next to me, very close and just stood there. Im assuming she was looking at the cake or brownie, who knows? As i am ordering 4 or 5 waffles im told that there is one… yes one waffle iron. We would get our food but it would be staggered. At this point im like ok cool we are hungry and the other side of me is saying… why do you only have one waffle iron what if that one breaks? As I am walking from the counter back to my seat I had to say excuse me so many times as if the people who waited in line behind me didnt want to move so i could go back to my seat. Im unsure what the hell they were thinking? I kept calm… my kids were with me so i sat down and waited for my food. As promised all of the food was staggered not just the waffles. Want a tip? If you have a large group of more than lets say… um 3 dont expect to have your food come out together or piping hot. Where was I again? Oh yes the waffles… they were ok its just that they weren’t fresh from the iron. The toast and eggs were standard. The potatoes were not good. The potatoes were bruised and also brownish grey check the pics. This means that they had be cut and sat out for a while. The worst part is that they were under cooked. im not sure how they were cooked maybe on a griddle or something. But they were hard and the color turned me off, they should have been golden brown and crisp. They were not. I have had better food. Thats all. I dont dislike the place. Im sure for a lot of people who live on this side of town this is the holy mecca of coffee shops. It just wasn’t that good for me. I wont be back . Sorry.

Brewed is a favorite coffee shop for my hubby and I. Located in busy Brady street parking is often a challenge but no matter how long a walk it’s worth it. The coffee is good and they are affordable priced. The inside is cozy and they have lots of seating both inside and out. They have artists projects on display for decorum and each piece is available for sale. After buying yourself a drink you can easily walk down to the lake or walk Brady for some shopping or people watching.

I used to come here often when I lived over by Brady so decided to stop in one morning for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. The experience(not the food) left a bad taste in my mouth. Upon arrival the cashier had to reluctantly pause rapping along to the very explicit loud music blaring over the speakers. She seemed annoying to help a customer and when my order was placed she went back to singing along to the music. I ordered to because I was kind of in a rush. I ordered an Iced Coffee but I did not like it at all so I threw it out. I was getting very impatient waiting for my order because there was nobody else waiting and all I had was a breakfast sandwich. When I peaked back into the kitchen I could see the cook was just sitting and texting. When my food finally came it was actually pretty good, the reasons for the two stars. But for $ 10 for just a coffee and a sandwich combined with that level of poor service, I’ll take my business elsewhere in the future.

Sometime in the late evening to early morning hours at last year’s Brady Street Festival: me: «ooh, that’s my spot, that’s where I always go.» neighbor: «I know that. we all know that. You love that place, that’s your spot– you’re there every weekend.» With its prime real estate offering a great view of the street, both inside and out, Brewed Café, looking like a bohemian coffee shop from a 1960s version of Greenwich Village or San Francisco that may have only existed in imaginations, is indeed my, as well as much of the neighborhood’s, spot. There’s dogs, kids, random neighborhood people, tourists, church goers. This is our Anodyne purveyor, and they make a number of great, coffee drinks, as well as horchata, rishi tea, matcha, etc. They also have a beer and wine liquor license so you can now get your brunch with a mimosa or a milwaukee brewing company beer. There’s always rotating art on the walls for sale, a bulletin board with community goings on, communal toys for the younger customer’s. Theres also jewelry for sale.(Random fact from the past: back in the swinging ‘70s of milwaukee, this place was called the Silver Shop. Its name was on the wooden appendage over the front door that now has a Preraphealite looking lady on it.) There’s a rotating bakery with all sorts of items. Brunch and breakfast are probably most popular, but they do serve lunch and dinner items usually well up to 9 pm or so. They have a lot of vegetarian, dishes but also ham, Turkey, and bacon for meat eaters. I personally like the Heidi sandwich and the eggcellent bagel sandwich, but waffles and quiches are also very popular. Pro tip: if the front room is filled when you walk in, walk through the room to the right of the counter and you’ll probably find plenty more seating. but right now, with summer in full swing, outside on the tables and chairs on the sidewalk and in the little courtyard are probably where you want to be.

Awesome place. The bagel were very tasty, especially with jalapeño cream cheese. The décor was very calming. My wife had an iced coffee and quiche. She enjoyed both immensely.

Quirky little coffee shop. The menu boards are super overwhelming and hard to read. The staff is great and super attentive so I always look at the menu before I go in to decide what I want so I don’t stand there looking like an idiot. Breakfast burritos are amazing. Just picked up a cup of soup(all made from scratch) would have gotten a megabowl(yes that’s a size here) had I known how good it was gonna be. This place is a great addition to Brady st. with an interesting history. Super food. Super staff. Stop in and give it a try.

Brewed Café is a café nirvana, complete with delicious coffee(Anodyne), delicious food, and a comfortable atmosphere, inside and outside the building. I love that this place features a lot of little corners for cozy places to study, read, or catch up with a friend. My only complaint is that it’s a little cramped inside. Some of the tables in the front entrance are a little too close for comfort, especially when the line for the counter is long. The tables in the back and around the corner are spacious enough. Too, the outdoor tables are a great little place to people watch along Brady street and enjoy the sun. It’s not my favorite café in the world, but it definitely has the potential to get there.

This is more of a 3.5. Staff has always been friendly, its a great spot to hang out and do some work or sit outside on a nice day and read/people watch. The have a pretty solid menu ranging from breakfast items to lunch sandwiches and all the other standard coffeehouse fare. I’ve had their breakfast burrito and potatoes, muffins, tea and coffee. All pretty good however the food can use some seasoning, or at least a little salt n peppa. I’m surprised to say I’m not a huge fan of the muffins. They are very dense and somewhat dry, also very sticky. Other than that the mint green tea is great. I’ll definitely continue coming here and would be willing to bet I’d continue trying their muffins, just cause I like muffins… Small update… the coconut banana bread is very good!

Since moving away from the East Side, this is one of the places I miss the most. They have excellent coffee and plenty of vegan choices on the menu. I absolutely love the rabbit sandwich and order it every time I stop here. The place is relaxing and the staff is friendly.

B. est coffee shop in neighborhood R.elaxing atmosphere E.xcellent service W.ould recommend E.agerly awaiting my next visit D.amn good coffee Taking it back to grade school with an acrostic poem about Brewed. Brewed is my favorite coffee shop in and around the Brady St. neighborhood. I strongly subscribe to the belief that a coffee shop is only as good as the atmosphere it provides, at Brewed provides it in heaps. It’s just so well balanced! Cool but comfortable, casual but put together etc, etc. It’s homey. It has rotating local artwork and is a bit less pretentious than some other area coffee shops. So yes, good atmosphere. However, we’re also lucky that they can brew a mean cup. Serving Milwaukee’s best, Anodyne, alongside some fun specialty drinks, they kind of have a bit of everything. Great sandwiches, breakfast food, awesome pastries. Man, it’s truly a one stop shop. Plenty of outlets too. If you’re in the neighborhood and want to knuckle down and get some work down, or just chat and catch up with a buddy, give Brewed a try!

Brewed Café is a convenient place to grab some coffee and an occasional bite to eat. I have been here many times and my experiences are inconsistent, which irritates me. The location and the fact it is a small business will keep me returning. Drinks are good, which is(ya know) a good sign for a coffee shop. The bakery items seem to be on point, and the zucchini bread is my fave. The food is bland for my taste. I like the seating area. It’s kind of a weird space, but it works. Sometimes they have live music. There’s local art on the walls. Nice vibe. The service is SO hit or miss. It’s recently been getting better, but I do not need to deal with attitude when I’m trying to caffeinate my potentially-hungover self. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, because people can have really bad days and be stuck at work and they just have to do their best, but I’ve been glared at and scoffed at on more than one occasion. PS– they prefer cash but take cards.

Brewed just oozes charm… It’s warm, cozy, and one of my favorite places to stop by during cold wisconsin winters. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and fast! When it’s not busy in the mornings, I like to sit by the window and sip my hot drink while watching everybody muck by in the cold, because that’s just the kind of person I am, and Brewed is a great place to do just that. The look on peoples faces when they walk by the storefront window when they see me sipping my steaming cup is just the sweet garnish that makes my morning cup of joe complete. Seriously though, the food here is surprisingly good too! I’m not really a breakfast person, but everything I’ve had has been great, and is offered all day. If you have a free morning by the east side, take an hour, grab a seat and a quiche!

I go to Brewed often to pick up Anodyne coffee, and occasionally I order beverages while I’m there. What I like: – They sell Anodyne coffee(my fave). – They serve real food. – They’re across from Cempazuchi. – Their staff is really friendly. – They are in a great location. What I dislike about Brewed — and this is what makes me choose Colectivo and Rochambo over Brewed time and time again — is that it does not have enough outlets. Whenever I go there to work, I have to leave after an hour or two because I can’t find a place to plug in my laptop. When I work away from home, I want to stay there for hours, and I can’t really do that at Brewed.

Came here for brunch and coffee, which was awesome. A huge plus was the outdoor seating facing the street and still in the shade. My coffee was great, as was the veggie chili. However… the counter staff was terrible. I used to work in a café in college and I know its hard to be pleasant all of the time, but wow. The girl never made eye contact and was extremely short while I was ordering. She seemed irritated when ordered anything or asked a wuestion about the menu or the food.(Basic questions, like what the soup of the day was when I couldn’t find the sign among the other ten busy signs). I probably wont return because I can go to so many other places where the staff aren’t jerks. Think of this place like a Rochambo plus food minus the pleasant demeanors.

Brewed totally represents all that is Brady Street. It’s got that new-age hippy vibe that I love so much. The space inside is vey ecclectic, with plenty of space to grab a table and study. I’vee come here many days to really get some work done. I’ve also come here to just relax a few minutes before meeting up with friends. It’s an extremely comfortable atmosphere. Good vibes in there. I love their breakfast and lunch food. Their breakfast sandwiches are outta this world! BIG and savvory. They gotta use at least 2 or 3 eggs on those sandwiches and in those burritos. They also have great vegetarian sandwiches for lunch and some delicious chili that I’ll have even when its warm outside! Good quality food, and you definitely get your monies worth. Grab a seat outside and enjoy some amazing people-watching.

They have almond milk as a non-dairy option in drinks! This is a huge plus for me because I’m really not a fan of soy milk. I stopped by recently and had a Mexican mocha. Delicious! In the summer, I LOVE their rose water lemonade. It’s heaven on a hot day! Great service and pretty impressive menu for a coffee shop. I am a sucker for the egg bagel sandwich. I come here for a variety of occasions: catching up with friends on the weekend, spending some solo time to do work, or just a quick stop by to get a drink to go. There is a nice variety of seating options depending on what you’re in the mood for. Always a good vibe going on here!

Some if the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. I dislike beverages with too much syrup/sweetener but thought I would give their iced latte, Frosty, a shot. So glad I did. The mix of mint/coffee was perfect. I then tried a hot pumpkin spice latte. Another excellent beverage. So why only 4 stars because it is a great atmosphere, service was nice… too much lettuce on the Hummus wrap IMHO. I would have liked more hummus less lettuce but would eat this fresh selection again and just mention this I suppose.
