Munem is my go to stylist! He always does such a great job cutting my hair and I’ve been going to him for years.

I came here early in the week and it wasn’t very busy, I was put in a chair and they started to work on me immediately after. The owner of the salon had a good idea of the look I was going for and began my treatments right away. He recommended that I get a glaze done, which would take the golden hues out of my hair (the brassy look is the worst!). At first my hair felt very stiff and I noticed that more so when my hair was getting brushed during the drying process. However, after the Brazilian blowout was done, I was very pleased with the results! I left with my hair silky smooth and have never had a service like this before!

There seems to be some mixed reviews at Capricio Salon and Spa on Oakland. Mainly, my high rating for this company is resulted from impressive haircut services from Kami. I highly recommend Kami because she is experienced in hair and spa for around half a decade. I have been her client for one year. Initially, she fixed my unmanageable haircut (from a previous stylist), and continues to succeed my haircut requests. Her vibrant personality matches her talent! Kami specializes in makeup, hair styling, haircuts, coloring, and is also certified in Keratin and Brazilian Blowout Services. Kami always knows the latest hairstyles and products.

Wife’s first time here. Easy in and out. Services are spot on and she was very pleased with her cut and style. I think she’ll be a regular here and she can thank me for finding the place for her. It’s also close to home which is a plus.

Been a customer for over 10 years. Munem and his staff are knowledgable and fun! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. Try the threading as well!

I’ve been seeing Munem for close to 10 years now. I moved to San Francisco and I travel all the way back to Milwaukee to have him do my hair. He and his team are meticulous and make sure that you leave the salon every time looking like a million dollars. I’ve had people stop me on he streets of London and NYC to ask me who does my hair. I’m a customer for life and can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Went in for something new and Lindsay had some excellent suggestions. I ended up getting some highlights and a softening treatment (I forget what it’s called), also recommended by my stylist; loved the color, cut, place and its employees. I’m absolutely going back and recommend it for anyone wanting an upscale yet homey vibe with a fresh new style. Id also highly recommend Lindsay!

I had a wonderful experience at Capricio! My friend and I went to get our hair done for her wedding, and I was extremely impressed both with the high quality hair styling as well as the stylists’ willingness to tweak based on our preferences. The stylists really wanted to make sure that we were happy with our hair, which I really appreciated. Not least importantly, my hair stayed beautiful even after hours out on Lake Michigan, which is a true feat! Big thanks to the wonderful folks at Capricio Salon!

I am sure they do a nice job and all but they need a better person taking calls and for scheduling!!! As soon as I made a comment (In a friendly tone, nothing rude) that starting price color was a little high. ($ 150.00 just for a all over color) They hung up on me! Didn’t even give me a chance to say anything else. Talk about unprofessional.

When you first get in, they greet you with a welcoming smile and ask if you want a cup of coffee! I have my best hair cuts in this place, if you get your hair done here, you will come back always! it looks to me that the stylists in this place are very carefully picked and they are all great, and if you are going to an event and you want to be the star, then ask for Munem.

This place is great ! I was visiting family there and decided I wanted to get a new look while on vacation. Came to this place and was greeted by the friendliest staff. I didn’t really know what I wanted to get done so the owner recommended a cut/​color that would compliment me. I took his advice because why not, I wanted something different.
The end result was just beautiful. I was not expecting it to come out that good and I wasn’t disappointed. I swear I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my hair like that from family, friends, and even strangers. I actually wish this salon was closer to where I live.
They walk you through everything you’re going to have done. The cut/​color was spot on and everyone there is professional. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend this place. Now I have a new place to visit every time I’m on vacation. Believe me when I say you won’t be disappointed.

I have been to this salon numerous times and everytime I leave, I feel great! The service is amazing, the staff is very knowledgable and my hair looks amazing every time I leave. It is refreshing to go to a salon that knows what they are doing. Munem does an amazing job and is very experienced. He has assistants that will help him along the way and I love that. In a way, I know that if I can’t get an appointment with Munem, I know I will have someone that is trained by him. My experience is always a relaxing one. I love the products they use because they are not harsh on my hair. I look forward to purchasing my hair products at the end of any service. I count down the days until my next appointment!

I visited this salon a number of times throughout 2013 and 2014 however I decided to not return despite the salon employing some very talented stylists.
Spa services: five stars for sure. I received waxing, tanning, massage and facial service and they were all excellent. They have a secluded and relaxing back room at the Jackson St. location. Jessica is fantastic and the prices were a bit high, but not totally unreasonable considering the service.
Hair services: Just as many reviewers have mentioned before me, Munem is the owner and has his own prices. They are crazy expensive considering he double and triple books clients. He literally would apply a handful of foils to my color, disappear to other clients, then come back for the cut, and be unavailable until the end of the appointment. I kept coming back because I’m not from the area and am a busy college student and didn’t want to change salons. The last straw for me was when I got extensions done and they ended up costing way more than expected. On top of the cost they were constantly falling out! They looked fabulous for two weeks then I would loose at least 10 pieces every time I washed and dried my hair. Munem never took responsibility for it and it was a waste of money overall.

I had a very strange experience at Capricio. I used to go here all of the time because I loved the girl that did my hair. Even though it was pretty pricey ($ 170 for highlight + cut) she did a wonderful job.
I had an appointment at their Oakland location right after their downtown location closed for just a trim. I received a phone call the day of my appointment informing me that my stylist no longer works here but that they can still fit me in a half hour later than my originally scheduled appointment. I agree, and am shampooed and dried by a stylist. Then the owner, Munem, cut my hair. While cutting my hair one of the other associates informed him that someone had left the salon because they were waiting for too long. He stopped cutting my hair and I sat there while he went and handled it. After awhile he came back and finished. The other stylist blow dried me and I was on my way. When I went to pay, they tried to charge me $ 60 for the trim because that is Munem’s price. Normally, with my old stylist I paid about $ 40. I informed the cashier that I originally had an appointment with someone who charged $ 40 and she argued with me that this is the price for Munem. I was about to pay the full price when ANOTHER cashier stopped and said she would go ask Munem who then said I could pay the original price.
So that was all fine and good, until about a week later I received a phone call from Munem asking me why I had left negative feedback on the survey that the salon had emailed me asking about my experience. Instead of apologizing, he left me a message arguing with every aspect about the things I had said I didn’t like (him stopping my haircut mid-​cut, the salon trying to overcharge me, the overall chaos of the situation). Just weird. If you’re going to try to rectify a situation with an unhappy customer, don’t try to argue your way out of it.
I was a loyal customer to this salon before but will not be returning.

Went there a couple of times. The owner does not have time to actually see you through the whole haircut and blow dry process. He lets you sit with wet hair while he runs around assisting other customers and stops by to cut your hair in between. Then, he passes you off to someone who supposedly knows how to blow hair. It took about an hour for this person to blow dry my hair at which point the owner took over. I asked owner not to razor my hair and instead he took the scissors and sliced through making my already frizzy hair more unmanageable, after which he states, your hair does not respond well to razor or slicing. Really? Overpriced, over rated place. Never again!

I went to this Salon for a color this month and it faded in 2 weeks. The original color was great, although very expensive (150+), and it went exactly as I asked.
I reached out to the owner to facilitate some help as this was a pricey temporary color. They offered to re-​do my entire color… at full price which I think isn’t much of a solve. So my lower vote is for price and after-​service.

Since my last review my stylist has left and I have not gone back. I have received a couple of email coupons, but they weren’t really great deals. None that were worth a hair-​risk. That being said, I’ve already tried someplace new I really don’t have the desire to go back, especially based on other reviews — I think I may have gotten lucky with my the stylist I had that left.
The shop is cute, it’s in a nice area (despite the parking being a challenge, as I mentioned in my last review). To my knowledge, they still carry the same products and they still offer reminders, but I didn’t feel the «warm and fuzzy» that would encourage me to go bad and replace my previous stylist.
For the most part, I visited here because I enjoyed my stylist. In this type of environment I think you’re really loyal to the service provider, not the establishment. I didn’t trust the establishment with cutting my hair correctly, I trusted the stylist.
If you need a haircut or basic salon services, it might be worth checking out as it is a «campus salon» (as another reviewer put it).
Ysenia was great. She was sweet and competent, not too chatty. I do miss her and I have since changed salons. If you can score someone like her, then you’ll be all set.

I’ve never been so pleased with any hair salon/​spa services before. They offer many services at affordable prices.
I got a coupon through my perks about 6 months ago, and I woukdnt go anywhere else now.

It was easy to get an appointment. I used their online system on Friday afternoon and got in Saturday morning at 9 AM for a consult. Receptionist was wonderful. Fresh cup of coffee first thing in the morning. I was looking to have hair extensions done. Munum, the owner, was honest with me. My hair was too short for extensions. I appreciate the honesty. He gave me a 30% off card for my first service.

Best salon in Milwaukee! Capricio Salon has such a wonderful staff. Everyone is friendly, and very welcoming! This salon is staffed with truly talented professionals in Milwaukee. Every experience has been wonderful, and I leave absolutely in love with my hair! I honestly recommend this salon to anyone who wants top notch services at affordable rates. You will fall in love… just like I did… promise!
