Very friendly and attentive staff. Young college crowd at night, but get there during happy hour to shake some dice with the bartenders. Fair priced drinks with a nice mix of all different kinds of music to hear.

Just a dive on a busy corner. It’s a bar to see before you go to a real bar, dive or not. It’s for freshman in their first month of school. Lots of potential wasted. Don’t know why anyone would willingly go here.

I go to the Eastsider for Marquette, UWM, Packer games and the Jimmy Luv’s Bloody Mary’s. Jason has frosted mugs when I am in the mood for a beer. I have never been on the bus trip but they are always sold out same with the annual pub crawls. At night the place is packed with a line to get in the door, must be due to the high energy and great playlist. This venue is an East side neighborhood classic.

Fun College bar. Great drink specials. Thursday and Wednesday are usually busy nights so go earlier to get a spot at the bar! check the Facebook for drink specials.

Well this bar has very cheap drinks and has nice specials. Since it is so small it reaches maximum capacity pretty fast, and is always packed. Depending on the crowd this can be a good or bad thing… It is i pretty annoying when everyone starts dancing since it is so small and packed already that there is just not room for it. The music is really loud so it is not a good place to go if you plan on actually talking to someone, but its a good bar to stop at and get drink or two at before going to another bar.

Great bartenders. They make sure that you enjoy your time there. Go there early enough to grab a seat at the bar so you can play some bar dice with the bartenders. Gets pretty crowded as the night goes on.

Best sampled before prime drinking hours on North Ave. The place isn’t very big, and once they get packed in, getting anywhere other than where you’re standing isn’t easy. I’ve had good interaction with the staff here, and the bartenders that I’d gotten to know were decent and at least knowledgeable about the goings-on of NA. It did seem to be a hiring based more on looks than anything else, but, hey, whatever works. Not as bad with the underagers as some bars around NA can be, but still a lot of college kids getting bent up on Friday and Saturday night. Shot prices were decent, beer selection was meh. I’ve had lunch there a couple times(by virtue of Jimmy Johns) and they were cool with it as it was too early and the place was pretty slow then. It’s a little bar on a little corner. They aren’t prepared to handle a hundred people. So go when there’s only 20. Pregaming at 3pm is perfect.

It’s Monday night when my friend Ryan and I decide to get a drink. Ryan: «Dude, the Eastsider is great.» Me: «Ryan I don’t want to go to some shitty dive bar.» Ryan: «Where else are there going to be hot girls in Milwaukee? Plus this place isn’t that bad.» Me: «Ok well I picked the last bar so it’s up to you, but this place better not be a piece of shit.» This is a low key place that is certainly comfortable, young, and fun. It reminds me of college. I had fun. The place is OK. The drinks are cheap.

Wandered into the Eastsider absentmindedly thinking we were hitting the Uptowner. Whoops — at least the Brew Crew won in the bottom of the ninth as I sipped my mistaken-identity beer. Virtually no character. Paltry, macro beer selection. Obnoxious crowd. A generic«we’re not trying very hard» bar atmosphere. If you need a place for weak beer and air-conditioning/heating, I guess you could come here, but otherwise, you’re about as confused walking in here as I was.

Tiny, cramped, filled with dudes of little class. I will go elsewhere next time I’m in the area.

Bar owners. If college students are your main customers, do not have a carpet floor. Moldy carpet smell and horrible music. Miley Cyrus??? WTF!!! Also there is no doors on the stalls and no toilet paper… not even a rack for it. So heads up. It was all UWM Students, and couldn’t help but notice the brother working the door that looked like he was being tortured by the barrage of super young white girl music hahahahahaha. We showed up at 1030 and people were already wasted students getting helped out of the bar. Too bad«dude,» your chick was really cute. Lay off the Jäger bombs next time. Somehow seeing a guy getting carried out by his 120lb chicky is just wrong…

This is a place where for every woman there is ten men. The drinks are cheap, bartenders are nice. I would suggest they have a ladies night to even out the men to women ratio.

Tiny but laid back crowd. I enjoyed this place and the alterna-music until they suddenly switched it to heavy metal and pumped up the volume. I exited.

This tiny un-assuming east side pub — hence its name, is a favorite of the college crowd. That is especially true on Thursday nights when Jäger bombs costs an eye-popping $ 1. On Wednesday nights, pints of Harp and Guinness cost $ 2. This is an amazingly small pub so get there early on Thursday or you may be caught out in the cold. Although on the most popular nights, the crowd drifts toward frat boy and UWM students, other nights it is more laid back and you might be welcomed in to a game of bar dice. Definitely a great place to spend a night on North Avenue.
