Thank you Jessica, got great service! All of our food was great. Thank goodness I finally found a place to get a wonderful spinach salad. Nice gin and tonic also. My husband loved his ribeye and fresh green beans. Generous portions, nicely priced and all around wonderful meal.

They have a pretty broad menu for whatever you may be hungry for and a good beer selection. Also, incredible 22 oz Bloody Mary’s! It’s very casual, almost feels diner like(minus the bar). Great spot to eat when you’re in a rush.

So, we came on a saturday because they advertise to have the best Prime Rib in town. They had a big party there and after waiting 20 minutes for a table we ordered drinks and then we were told that they were out of the prime rib. WHAT? They did this same thing to 3 other couples that came in after us. All of them got up and left. we should have too. The Bloody Mary is meh… lots of stuff crammed in but, not much taste. Where is the Zippy Zesty Spice that it should have? We ordered the pork chops that were dry. After the big party left they started telling people they had the prime rib again… We couldn’t believe it! YUP… we watched them bring it out… CRAZY! We think the hostess should have said something right away BEFORE we were seated and had drinks. We are discussing if we will go back to try the prime rib or maybe a fish fry…

Unfortunately I can’t give less than 1 star. Sad– we’ve been coming here since I was a little girl with my family for holidays, birthdays, and just because with my grandparents and today will be the last time I will be eating here. We had a reservation for Father’s Day at 5:30 and they didn’t even start putting tables together for us until 5:40 and they weren’t even busy. Then it took an hour to get the appetizers we ordered. So then the food comes an hour and a half later and it gets better. 1 plate is completely wrong, they brought out a steak which was the wrong cooking and they take it back and we watch them take the colored flag out and put the«right» cooked color flag in the wrong type of meat and served it again. A bunch of the meats were over cooked and the others were undercooked(Some so overcooked I didn’t even think my dog would eat it). Another plate was cold and another had the secret ingredient in it– beard hairs. And when we complained to the manager on duty(who by the way could use a refresher in customer service skills) comes out and pretends to care and then laughs as we are complaining about the poor food and the wait time. So her solution– take 1 dinner off(which she herself agreed was completely overcooked) and take 10%off. Really 10%, oh yea and 1 free shot to 1 person. I don’t think this even sums it all up but these are highlights. Unlike the rest the waitress was a sweetheart and kept apologizing. So the owner called my grandfather the next day apologizing for what had occurred the day before, and also said 4 people that had been working Father’s Day no longer worked there, and promised to send him a $ 100 gift certificate and now here we are weeks later and nothing has been received yet. What a way to run a business.

Came here to try out their Pink Squirrel because I wasn’t in Bryant’s mood. Pink Squirrel was delish. My friend decided to order food and I followed suit and decided to have their all you can eat shrimp. Wow was it a lot of food! 15 boiled(you peel) shrimp with soup/salad and choice of potato, slaw, or pasta salad. Friend had the French Dip and was what you would expect from a casual dining place. What really sold us was the service. I believe her name was Sharon and she was great! Very attentive and so kind! She is the reason we will be returning.

I went there today for the fish fry. I decided to order an appetizer first. I decided on the three cheese wontons. I didn’t find a lot of value in them. I would call them mediocre at best and overpriced for sure. They did taste good though. I ordered the all you can eat fish fry. The first plate came out with a decent amount of french fries, four very large pieces of fish, a buttered piece marble rye bread, 3 tartar sauces, and some very very mediocre coleslaw. The fish was good, crispy but not overdone. The prices were very basic but not bad. The tartar sauce is a little strong in flavoring. I don’t mind it, but I could see some people may not like it. My waitress was very good. I got great service. When it was time for more fish, my waitress got me more. I’ve been places where they don’t want to bring you more. She kept my drink full and checked back often. Overall I give this experience 3 stars. It wasn’t the best fish fry ever had and it definitely wasn’t the worst. All I can say is try it for yourself.

It had been years since I ate at Final Approach so it was time for a revisit. Fortunately the service and food quality was on par with my visits many years ago. Both my hubby and I had different steaks. I tried the Sicilian and he had the ribeye. The potato of the day was beer battered fries and they were really darn good. My steak was supposed to come out medium rare but it arrived closer to medium… no big deal. My husband’s came out perfectly medium rare. I don’t understand restaurants that don’t make their own dressing. It is cheaper and the quality is WAY better. Final Approach makes all of their own dressings with the exception of the balsamic. Their salads aren’t just a wasteland of iceberg lettuce with a couple of tomatoes and cucumbers. I was pleasantly surprised… the next step is for them to up their game and make their own croutons. Our server was very friendly and made some recommendations about her favorites on the menu. The décor is a bit dated but everything else about Final Approach is solid. They had a decent tap beer selection and some nightly specials. Next time I won’t wait 5+ years to return.

4th stop for Lent 2015 is at the Final Approach in Milwaukee. Located on Milwaukee’s South Side near the airport. Private lot and while the old bbq restaurant is closed feel free to park there if there are no spots over on the Final Approach lot. Tip: Call a head for reservations — especially if you have a large group. We had a group of 8 and didn’t have any problems getting a reservation at 5:30 pm and I had called around Noon the same day. Huge beer selection! Has your standard beers on tap plus Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, Polka King, Shake Chocolate Porter and many more. You won’t be disappointed. Plenty of choices for Fish Fry on a Friday and not just during let. 1. Broiled Tilapia — $ 12,05 — served with rice and veggies 2. Salmon Picatta — $ 14.95 — grilled salmon topped with shrimp, capers, garlic, green onions, and cream lemon sauce. It is served with rice and veggies. 3. Crispy Tilapia Sandwich — $ 8.95 — cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion with tartar sauce on the side. Served with choice of fries, slaw, or pasta salad. 4. Coconut Breaded Shrmip — $ 12.95 — served with fries and mango dipping sauce. 5. Final Approach’s Famous Beer Battered Cod — $ 10.95 — served with slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries or homemade potato pancakes. 6. AYCE(all you can eat) Beer Battered Cod — $ 14.95 — served with slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries or homemade potato pancakes. 7. Baked Cod — $ 11.95 — served with rice and veggies 8. Breaded Perch — $ 13.95 — served with slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries or homemade potato pancakes. 9. Breaded or Broiled Walleye Pike — $ 13.95 — served with slaw, rye bread, and your choice of fries or homemade potato pancakes. 10. Fish Sandwich — $ 8.95 — served with choice of fries, slaw, or pasta salad. 11. Perch Sandwich — $ 9.50 — served with choice of fries, slaw, or pasta salad. Most of group had the Cod. We had a one who had the Walleye Pike, Coconut Breaded Shrimp, and one person had a hamburger. This had too be one of the best fish frys I have had in a long time. If I didn’t have to go out later, I would have the AYCE Cod. It was that good. Had a nice coating of beer batter — not too thick or oily. 3 nice sized pieces of Cod. Slaw was okay — it was vinegar type; not the creamy slaw I love. The potato pancakes were homemade and came with your choice of apple sauce or syrup — apple sauce of course! I normally don’t get the pancakes unless they are homemade and these really hit the spot with the fish. The service was good too. Takes reservations, split checks for our group of 8 — even though I know that is a pain for the waitress. This could be my new go to on the South Side for fish fry after lent. Deeeeeeeelish!

If you go to final approach. It’s for the Fish Fry! The cod was awesome, homemade tartar sauce, and potato pancakes. My wife had the pan fried Walleye, huge portion and it was excellent. Old supper club atmosphere, good service, and a solid fish fry…

Final approach… Final meal here. The food is below average and way over priced for this type of restaurant in this location. It’s an out dated atmosphere with frozen pre packaged heat and serve foods. You will pay $ 7.50 for a crock of french onion soup. Whatta crock!!! Btw… I have no problem paying for quality foods. I Wish I had something positive to say. Oh… Wait… I do. They have lots of tap beers to try. Think they clean the beer lines? Hmmmm.

Great fish fry on Friday. Pike and perch and cod are very good with potato pancakes. The tartar sauce has a light touch of garlic. The chili is very good and served with corn chips.

The cheese curds were good, the chicken ceasar wrap was ok. I didn’t think anything was too outstanding but not bad either. Just ok. Love the outside cow and the title is fun!

I went back for the AUCE shrimp on Sunday for lunch. It’s available all day. You can choose from Boiled Shrimp(peel n eat), Fried Shrimp or Coconut Shrimp, or you can request any combination of the above. The boiled shrimp is served chilled, so don’t expect it to be hot, like I did. I usually don’t order peel n eat shrimp because it makes my fingers messy and sticky, but I wanted to try their’s, and it was good, especially dipped in the cocktail sauce, but nothing special. The coconut shrimp is the star of this trio. They’re the largest of the three and also the most succulant and crazy good. They’re served with a sweet mango dipping sauce which is awesome! The fried shrimp were also good and tasted great with the cocktail sauce or the mango dipping sauce, so be sure to request it if you don’t start with the coconut shrimp. The meal includes a basket of rolls and crackers, as well as choice of potato and soup or salad. I selected a tasty chicken vegetable soup and crinkle cut fries for my potato. Steak fries(potato wedges) or baked potato were the other options. The price is $ 14.95 and is a nice value for the coconut shrimp alone. Everything else is a bonus. I would do this again.
