Where to start with the horrendous experience I had this weekend with this men’s store. I will begin by saying I am an event planner in Chicago and came to Milwaukee for my brothers wedding. I am always in search of amazing vendors in different cities. You never know where my next bride will want to get married. Now, as being a small business owner myself, I love supporting other local small businesses. Even if it means paying more. When my brother told me we were going to Harley’s for the tuxes, I was very excited because A. My brother has excellent taste and B. Because it was a boutique men’s store. When my husband and I arrived we were politely greeted and asked to try on the tux. Of course we said yes. When my husband came out of the dressing room I was horrified. The pants were way to small and the shirt was 4 sizes to big. I went to ask for assistance and said that we have a small issue with the tux. Bob’s response was besides it not fitting, how does it look? What do you mean how does it look? It looks terrible. He came over to the dressing room and blamed us for providing the wrong size. We said no, we got professionally measured and requested a NONSLIM fit tux. We were provided with a slim fit. Just because the groom can fit into slim fit does not mean all of the other guys can also fit in slim fit. I said that he can not leave this store looking like this. Bob raised his hand to me and told me to RELAX! He was so condescending and self righteous to tell a paying female client to relax! Bob said that he would get replacements in the following day. I’m sorry, the following day we have photos starting at 10 am. I can’t be in the shop hoping and praying that this suit fits. He also blamed us that the suits have been in since Tuesday and if we came in on Tuesday we wouldn’t have this problem. I looked at bob and told him that we love out of state. We couldn’t come on Tuesday. We were here Friday. He as the business should have offered more helpful suggestions and said, I am sorry the tux doesn’t fit perfectly, this is how we can fix it. He said nothing and blamed us. Out of 10 guys that needed suits, 9 had issues and needed new tuxes sent. The father of the bride had vomit on his second attempt suit and needed a third sent. My husband smelled like stale cigars, because who knows how and if they were cleaned. As a wedding professional, I would never recommend this store. I hope that he is not the owner and if he is, I am terribly offended at his customer service. I understand that they are trying to serve a certain clientele, because their prices are no subtle clue to that effect. I would have expected a certain level of customer service. Harley’s has certainly done an excellent job of showing their true business philosophy and has totally turned off this chicago wedding planner.

I rarely go in this store as the sales staff doesn’t really assist you unless you«look the part(i.e. Well monied»). That being said, I have found some decent prices on ties at end of season prices. Otherwise I would rather spend my money with merchants that actually care about what you are looking for instead of having the sales staff standing around and acting put upon when you try to get their help.

Interesting clothing lines. everything for hubby needs to be ordered or custom-made. Good service first day then I brought my husband on his day off and we were dismissed. Snooty non-service and we left with a bad taste. In the end, we’ll never come back because we were treated badly, and can find all their items online including the custom shirts we came to check out. It would have been nice to have a place to buy shirts and trousers for life, but they missed out. We’ve had great relationships with clothiers in major cities and resort areas but in Milwaukee? Come on.

Good products, especially since men’s clothing in Milwaukee is really slim pickings. The staff seems rather uptight though, more so than other men’s clothing stores in the area. That being said, they were helpful and I did purchase a couple things.
