The playground on the Water Street side is a really cool piece of our urban landscape. My ladyfriend and I had a decent time swinging while we chatted. This place makes great use of recycled tires. The ground up tire on the ground is super soft to walk on, so the whole area is actually pretty comfy. I’ve been across the bridge several times, during daylight and not without incident, but the bridge always seems a little mugger-ey, assault-ey. You just have nowhere to go if things goes down, so I feel vulnerable crossing.

One of my favorite, lessor known spots in Milwaukee. Sure, it’s an awesome gateway from the Brady Street area to the Downtown area, but it’s also a great spot to people watch along the trail, spy over the roof of the Lakefront Brewery, and check out a view of Downtown Milwaukee that not a lot of people know exist. Then when you are done on the bridge, go take a swing on the swings made from recycled tires on the Brady Street end… I’m definitely a fan of the marsupial bridge!

Thank you Julilly Kohler, this bridge is beautiful. I love it and the path it creates from Lakefront Brewery to Brady Street Recent events have been held here which are awesome too! There is now a under bridge park on the Brady Street end. AMAZINGFUN! You must visit!

The bridge is a nice addition to the eastside /riverwest area. I never knew it existed but always wondered«what was going on over there» when I was at Troncadero. One day I went exploring while jogging. Nice. It’s lit at night, and from what it looks like there r security cameras(although I’m really not sure on that 100%…) Once over to the west side of the bridge, there are a serious of paved paths and a truly terrifying(for me anyhow!) set of stairs that lead way way up to booth street. The stairs r partially open and the«railings» are a series of cables. Vertigo and me don’t get along so I avoid it… but if heights don’t bother you it gives you a nice view.

All I know is Lake Front Brewery is on one side and I felt very animal like as I took the short cut and scampered up the side of the bridge landing versus taking the long way down east and back up to cross the bridge. If i were more into fitness I would have enjoyed the cardiac value of being chased by street thugs. Be careful at night I don’t talk to strangers, so sorry if I seem curt and impolite. As I make my way back home. I have bad memories of billy goats gruff and trolls under the bridge. Not internet trolls the real living breathing diseased, TB flea infested trolls that carry all kinds of hepatitis, STD’s and whatnots. I recommend lawful carry for personal safety.

I use this bridge all the time. It’s awesome. Luv it. Beautiful design too. If you are bored on a Sat night go walk on the bridge and look into the wedding party of the week going down at the Lakefront Brewery. When riding by a few weeks ago I saw the racing sausages dancing!!!

Has anyone observed any marsupials making use of this bridge? How has it’s existence been advertised to it’s target audience? I don’t think«if you build it, they will come» is a viable business model. Regardless, this thing is a true Milwaukee landmark. So ingenious! So timeless! The perfect place to just instagram/hipstamatic your life away!
