Hoppe Tree Service

I’ve had three separate projects done by Hoppe and they’ve comet thru in flying colors. My only concern is cost. Tree stuff is expensive.

Their rates were the most competitive, and they actually worked with us on making the work and pricing do-​able for us. They were knowledgeable about tree health but didn’t push us to take action on a tree that is likely partially dead. They gave us their opinion and told us what they recommended, but didn’t insist that we deal with it this year.
They came out and removed some lower limbs and cleaned everything up on our two large Norway maples. They were quick and efficient!
I will say, however, that something went wrong with the scheduling and our original appointment that we were told by the office was not what the work crew had on their list, so they didn’t come the first time we were expecting them to. However, they quickly made it right and came out on the next business day.

The Ash tree in our backyard is large, beautiful — and was completely out of control, but Hoppe took care of that for us!
The tree not only needed to be pruned, but was growing close to our neighbors house and power lines. The arborists took great care to not only shape the tree beautifully, but worked around the power lines without causing any damage to the house/​lines. Per my request, they trimmed that side of the tree a bit more aggressively to keep it out of the way for a few years. Everything was nicely cleaned up as well — they were mindful of the garden beds that surrounded the tree and didn’t trample anything.
Since we’d like to keep our tree healthy, we’re also doing the ash-​borer injections. So far, so good — the cost of those is far less than what it would cost (emotionally and monetarily) to remove a dead tree.
It’s been very easy to work with them — from the original emailed quote to the online bill payment capability. Many of my neighbors have used Hoppe as well — they’re always my first recommendation to people needing an arborist. Don’t wait too late in the season to book services with them — they do get very busy (because they do a great job)!

Hoppe Tree Service took down a huge sugar maple in our yard last week and did a really great job. Not only were they reasonable in price, but we’re a pleasure to work with. Their knowledgeable and friendly service put my wife and I at ease through the process. We will definitely use them again.

My experience with Hoppe could have been a lot better.
I contracted with Hoppe to treat our Ash trees. The man who came and did the treatment was friendly and thorough, which I appreciated.
That said, I had a terrible time with scheduling the treatment. I had to call them multiple (4 I believe in total) times before the man came out to do the treatment. Each time I would call they’d tell me I was on the schedule for next week, and when the next week came, they didn’t show up. Finally, after about 8 weeks, they came to do the trees.
All in all, the trees are treated and healthy and I don’t have to do it again for another 2 years.

Did not use their service. My neighbors did. Unfortunately, I found these jokers standing on my garage roof without my permission. They did not even come to the door and ask if it was ok to stand on my roof. They just felt free to go up there and start piling branches on the roof. I don’t think this is how a good business should operate.

They didn’t excellent job of explaining what was needed for our trees to grow healthy and strong. The staff is very knowledgeable. They helped to work within our budget and were very reasonably priced.
