Horrible food, horrible customer service, horrible everything. Each time I’ve ordered from here they either mess up the food or the price. One time I got delivery and after I paid and tipped, the driver runs back to my door and insists I give him a better tip and tells me he won’t leave until I do and threatened to never bring me food again. Seriously? Tipping isn’t even required and I gave him a pretty generous tip on a $ 15 order in the first place.

Absolutely NEVER ordering from here again! Worst Chinese experience I’ve ever had. Took close to two hours for my food to come, the food I got was wrong, they forgot half of my order, and it was cold and tasted horrible. SO frustrating!!!

Very clean, newish interior. Relatively friendly staff. Good prices. Acceptable Chinese food. Not sure it would clean up if it were moved to a Chinatown in a major metropolitan area, but for a neighborhood Chinese joint, it does the job.

Food isn’t bad. Love that there’s a place with BBQ and hot pot. BBQ wasn’t up yet. Dinner was good but near the end, there were two guys just literally bickering at each other’s throats at the hostess’ station. It was very awkward…

Probably the best chinese food in Milwaukee, definitely very authentic and fresh. The restaurant is really small and family-owned, the owners work there too. They were a very nice family who made sure we had a good dining experience. Also, they provided us with recommendations of what to try based on our tastes. I think the prices are a little high but it’s worth it if you want to splurge a bit on an authentic Chinese dinner in MKE.

Delivery is always fast and accurate, even on large orders. Menu has a great selection and food arrives fresh. Prices are also very affordable. Favorites: Spicy Chicken Wings(might be the best wings you can get delivered) Crab Rangoons Egg Roll(shrimp or pork) Pu Pu Platter(great value for a wide array of appetizers) General Tso’s Chicken

I lived in China a for four years, so I appreciate authentic Chinese food, and Huanxi offers delicious and authentic Sichuanese food at a very good price. If you’re looking for Chinese food on the East Side, go to Huanxi.
Just kidding a.

Great authentic Chinese…2 menus– American & Chinese. Can’t wait for the new addition/expansion to open along with new dishes no other restaurants offer ie Hot Pot… Should be soon. The new space is finished, it’s huge and looks AMAZING !!! Plus.they have private dining rooms for groups!!! Though, the addition is located off of Greenwich, on the north side of the building. Seriously, the crab rangoon are sublime.

Unless you are desperate for Chinese, don’t bother. Delivery was fast and they have a combo which is why gave them a 2nd star. Food was very poor. Tasted like it came from a can or from a grocery store freezer.

I’ve been a long time customer and am always impressed. The food is always hot and well prepared, delivery times are usually very fast, and the price is right. My favorite Chinese food in the city.

Eh… let me start by saying I ordered delivery through Unilocal.Just because that’s the order in which I clicked things in search of comfort food that would come to me. I placed my order at noon. When 1:30 rolled around and I hadn’t heard a word I called the restaurant. That was apparently the first they heard of my order. «Our computers were down until 12:30,» I was told. Ok… but knowing you have on online ordering system and it’s lunch time, would you not have checked any waiting orders when your systems went back up? I was promised they would make it immediately and deliver asap. I agreed because by that point I would have preferred gnawing on my own fingers to actually having to MAKE something. I got a call a few minutes later from someone completely different at the restaurant saying the same thing, basically. They sounded a bit sheepish about it and, to their credit, I did have food within about half an hour. However… i noted there was no actual apology, waived delivery fee, freebies or additional acknowledgement of a pretty sizeable snafu. Disappointing. The food itself was oook. Veggie egg rolls were mostly dough and very little filling. Kung-pao«chick-un»(soy-based chicken substitute) was kinda rubbery and unappetizing in appearance. And as a vegetarian household, I have plenty of good comparison basis. No kick whatsoever, either… and I’m allergic to it(but addicted!) so that’s saying something. Usually I have to take breaks to remember how to breathe or use an inhaler. Veggie mein fun was fairly bland, but the veggies did at least look fresh and colorful. My soup was SUPER oily… and not in the good, greasy Chinese food way. The mushi veggies(I’d always see this called mushsu previously, so I was skeptical) was actually the highlight. Good flavor and the right amount of «juice.» The pancakes were rectangular… also new to me… If I had the urge for Chinese again… which doesn’t occur often, to be honest… I might hazard another go in person, and try some different items. But this was not an experience that left me excited to repeat it.

This was my first time ordering from this restaurant and I don’t know that I would again. The food I ordered, Chicken Lo Mein and General Tso Chicken, were okay. The General Tso’s was the better of the two, plenty of the sauce which is a big thing for me. But the Lo Mein tasted sort of… plastic…I’m not sure what it was but there was a chemical flavor in it that I’ve never experienced before. My guess is that it was from the take-out containers, not the food, but it was definitely not a good flavor. I’ve seen a lot of people saying that the delivery time was way faster than expected but for me it was the same as any other place I’ve ordered from. If I’m ever in the neighborhood I’ll definitely swing through and try them again dining in, but I’ve had better delivery from other places in Milwaukee.

We got takeout, so I can’t comment on the restaurant itself, but it was very good. The crab Rangoon was some of the best I’ve had, lots of sweet crab flavor I do agree with other reviews that there isn’t a ton of filling in it. The sweet and sour chicken was made with real all white meat chicken and none of that«chicken» you get from some places. The General Tso’s tofu was ok, I think it would have been better as chicken. Not the best tofu I’ve had, but definitely not the worst. I will defiantly order from them again and we were overall happy with our order.

My husband and I came here because someone at his work suggested it. Usually I am kind of picky when it comes to Chinese food since I grew up with homemade Chinese food & been to China several times. The space is small — they had about 7 to 10 tables. We were told by one of the employees that they are expanding the restaurant so they will have more tables. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. We got the sautéed green beans, shrimp scallop & tofu casserole and the beef noodle soup. The food was fantastic — the seasonings were perfect and right on point. I could have eaten it all in one sitting if my stomach was an bottomless pit. I will definitely be back — a bonus is its close to where I live!

So I’ve been eating authentic Chinese for a good portion of my life and so far Huan Xi might be the best Milwaukee has to offer. Alot of people are slamming them for having a lackluster american menu set of dishes, and personally I feel that’s their fault for looking past the traditional menu. Over the past four years this restaurant has given me some of the best dishes I can get while close to campus, particularly the beef noodle soup and boiled triple. Now this place may not be Fortune but its definitely not william ho’s and the rest of the trash that surrounds the east side, but its still the best chinese takeout in the city.

Food tastes great! Small business owned by hard working people. The space is really small too. Glad to see they update the tables and chairs in there recently. And hear that they are opening the FIRST hotpot place in town! Yay! I love hotpot! Every Chinese loves it! Can’t wait! Better be reasonably priced, too. Just got take out order again today since I live too far for delivery. Oh NOTE my non-Chinese speaking friends, you can actually ask for an authentic Chinese menu there to eat REAL Chinese food — that’s nothing like General Tso’s Chicken or Orange Chicken(which are items made in America that most people in China never even heard of… actually most American Chinese restaurants’ menu are never heard of…). My fave is the spicy kind — boiled fish fillet(Shui Zhu Yu Pian), boiled beef/pork(Shui Zhu Rou Pian), Fu Qi Fei Pian. And the Chinese Broccoli dish and Crispy Duck dish received extra credit from several of my American friends’ palate.

Come on? There is absolutely no way this establishment is worthy of these four and five star reviews I’m seeing. I have been looking for a true, traditional, reasonably priced, decent, take-out Chinese restaurant in the area and this place surely missed the mark. We ordered a sesame chicken dinner, a beef and broccoli dinner and an order of egg foo young/carry out. The dinners are priced at $ 7.95 and include egg fried rice and an egg roll. The chicken was gross, soggy and chewy. It also tasted old, not necessarily spoiled, but certainly not greasy. I detected no sesame flavor or sesame seeds at all. It instead had a very bazaar tomato flavor? Not at all what I expected. Now to the beef, also lacking in flavor. Very bland. Beef was chewy, almost inedible. Broccoli was limp and soggy. Both dishes included brown rice frided with egg, which was tasty enough for what it was. Egg rolls were your basic frozen understuffed variety. Egg foo young was greasy and good. Gravy searved with it was ok. No rice came with the dish, which was a surprise. Last note, I asked the gentleman for sweet and sour sauce and he gave me that ridiculous duck sauce? These guys know there is a difference right? I won’t return.

I ordered the honey chicken and fried dumplings. I loved the honey chicken, it was authentic! The last time I had good honey chicken was when I lived in Shawnee, Kansas. It’s been 8 years! I did find it strange, however, that they put the sauce on the chicken for me. I imagine it would get soggy over time… I ordered delivery which took about an hour. This was longer than I had hoped for but it is a Sunday. I would order from them again but I would probably get carry-out.
