Holy Flock, I would have not given this place a chance had it not been an invite from a friend. Why? Because«You» Unilocalers in Milwaukee are out-of-touch with what is really good. Do not get me wrong, I do truly enjoy Stone Creek & Colectivo, but this place is more of a boutique. They are highlighting the single origin and scratch-baking everything. Yes, if you are accustom to the Dunkin Donut/McDonalds coffee then something dark and black is fine; but you come here for something special. This place reminds me of the quality-oriented west coast approach to coffee. You come here because you have time and because you want to Enjoy. I have never, repeat never, had an espresso match up to my all-time fav. Coffee&Tea Collective until today. So good, I wanted to chew on it. I mean seriously, who pulls an Ethiopian single-origin espresso? To add to the mind-blowing espresso, they are doing biscuits and doing them with a bunch of different spreads. I went with maple butter, knocking this overall experience out of the park!

I can’t wait to me back and continue to try new things. I was impressed the first time I stopped by. The décor is lovely, and the menu is simple but satisfying. Don’t pass on the granola, it’s quite delicious. In addition to great coffee, their tea selection is great too. It’s kinda of hidden in the Third Ward, but certainly worth making the stop!

Pros: big windows, lots of light, overall clean design, quality drinks Cons: hard seats, food selection, value, staff I was impressed by the design and architecture of the interior. Everything was clean, well-kept. I wasn’t impressed by the value – $ 4 for tea? Yikes! There were very few food options. I guess this is a place to come between meals and leave when hungry. The seats were hard and I definitely wouldn’t be able to linger on those for long. Finally when I came in, I was treated like I wasn’t welcome. Huh…

This place is super cute and a nice touch to the local coffee scene. First off they have iced tea pop! Iced tea on tap so it’s carbonated! Sooo good. I miss my iced tea pop from David’s tea and they don’t have a single store in WI so I was ecstatic when I learned Kickapoo had it! I hope they play around with other flavored teas in the summer. The atmosphere is very nice and clean. I would t mind sitting around doing homework here or having a meeting. It’s quiet enough you can think but not too quite that you can’t talk. The staff is very nice and talkative and excited about their menu too The only thing I don’t like about this place is there baked goods. Their muffins remind me of corn bread and not in the good way. I’ve tried two different muffins over a few months time and neither have impressed me at all. They are lacking flavor and the consistency is wrong. They need to up your baking game for sure or they won’t be able to compete with the more well known local places.

Great service, open and inviting atmosphere, and fantastic location! The barista was very engaging although the drink ordered(single shot espresso) was a little underwhelming.(The blend and not the barista’s fault I believe) Having had very good coffee from here before, my recent experience doesn’t dampen the prospects for future visits. The seating and the space in general is relaxing without being homey; modern without being cold and stark. Drink prices are very fair. But with a number of other good shops on the area, let’s hope Kickapoo sticks around.

So happy to see this new coffee shop in the Ward. Across from MIAD this space is open, inviting and fresh. With a full view of the street the windows let in natural light on any day. The coffee is smooth, bold and flavorful. Pour overs make fresh enjoyable cups of joy. And speaking off the cups — great modern design with a surprise when you get to the bottom of your drink. Seating is abundant which was smart given the number of students hanging out here. Tables are long with small stools making group gatherings and conversation very doable. This place is light on food but enough to get a snack. Bench seating outside so once we get through winter they are all set. If you really like the coffee buy some beans to go or grab one of their cool mugs to accent your kitchen.

Kickapoo has the potential to become my favorite coffee shop. Local coffee just steals my heart, and Kickapoo is entering the competition for my affection with A LOT of other local roasters. Too, it’s by A LOT of other coffee shops with Stone Creek, Colectivo, and Bella’s right around the corner. However, Kicakpoo’s got a couple things going for it: Seating: It’s a little short given the weather, but the interior does have adequate study space, meeting space, etc. Kickapoo is also ready for the warmer weather. It has benches galore and even a ROOFTOPGARDEN that has me excited to re-visit this little gem in warmer months. Ambiance: In a couple words, I would describe it as «modern hipster chic.» The tall ceilings, with natural light gives it a sleek feel with little hipster touches like Mason jars as glasses, which brings me to… Water: Yes, Kickapoo might steal my coffeeshop heart because of its water. It has a double spigot dispenser with bubbly and non-bubbly water. I cannot think of a single coffeeshop offering carbonated water, and I love it. This place might just become my go-to spot in the Third Ward and maybe even Milwaukee itself. I’ll be back.

Really fun spot for a coffee on a Sunday morning! Nice staff and very delicious/hot pour over coffee options. All ages certainly welcome, including parents with little kids. Sleek and hip décor on the outside and interior. The pour over was about $ 4 so not exactly cheap, but the coffee is worth every penny. Will be back to try the pastries.

Kickapoo, woohoo!(This is good as it gets, folks.) Why does Kickapoo rule? Aside from the fact that their name is adorable, I’ll now provide you a list: 1. GOODCOFFEE: I love coffee. I love approachable, well-balanced coffee. Kickapoo ups Milwaukee’s already stellar java game; we’re a city replete with great, locally-roasted coffee options and Kickapoo’s beans and blends are no different. Good stuff here… it’s balanced, drinkable coffee, which is my kind of coffee. Pro tip: pour-over is always the way to go. 2. COOLSPACE: bright, open, airy, modern; this is a great spot to study, to catch up with friends, or simply to grab a cup to go while in the Third Ward. 3. RADFOLKS: … friendly, knowledgable baristas and owners. No attitude here. Just personable people who really know coffee. Also, they seem pretty cool and I want all of them to be my friends. I saw sandwiches. I saw tea. It’s not just coffee — buyer aware. Don’t forget to feed the meter! Those parking checkers are freaking relentless.

I know they have quality coffee, but there’s no almond milk and I despise soy milk curdling in hot coffee. I’ve had to cut dairy for breastfeeding and I am always excited when other coffee shops have almond milk.

I buy coffee every single morning, but I won’t be back here. Paid 4.25 for a LG red eye more than starbucks, stone creek and collectivo charge for a bigger size! WiFi was so slow pretty much unusable. And no free refill I would have had to pay another 2.95 for a refill. What a joke this is not nyc. Service was fine not enough to ever bring me back.

I visited Kickapoo for the first time with a friend and was pleased with the experience. It has a very warm and minimal interior with plenty of window seating for people watching. Other than that the seating might be a bit limited unless you count the long communal table in the middle of the café. I had a mocha served in a cute Mason glass and my friend had a soy latte. Both drinks were enjoyed and quickly consumed. I definitely recommend it if you are coming to study or chill out.

Had a nice scrumptious lunch: soup, biscuit veggie sandwich(if it is a biscuit stuffed with veggies do you call it a biscuit sandwich??) super tasty delicious coffee cake with an earl grey cup of tea –yeah the coffee offer is great with a nice global selection, extraordinary roasting, organic, fair trade…- but at that moment I was needing the comfort of a cup of tea! Food is good, coffee is great. With that said Stop for coffee people and if you got time eat lunch and cake!

5 friends and I stopped by Kickapoo Coffee last Saturday. Metered parking was available right outside the door around 12:30 p.m. We all agreed their coffee was excellent. The food we ordered was also very good — smoked trout biscuits and two types of muffins. It is a little more expensive than similar cafes but the quality made it a good value.

As I am getting more into the coffee scene I like to go check out the different roasters and coffee shops to help me gain more knowledge or just find a cool place to get some coffee. Came here with one of my friends for a quick cup. Being in the third ward, sometimes parking can be hard to find. I ended up parking a block or two away, but the worse thing in the world but did end up having to pay for parking. It’s downtown… what would you expect? The space is nice and modern and the staff seem friendly. I ordered my coffee and a muffin, and thought while I don’t recall the costs I seemed to remember thinking that it seem a little on the higher end. While I don’t live in the area I cannot see myself coming here regularlly but will definitely make the stop whenever I am in the area.

I’m a big fan of their coffee but the café leaves alot of be desired. Yeah, I get that it’s across the street from the Art Institute but the interior is too cold and austere for my liking. Also, the table arrangement is awkward with a large table looming in the middle. I came in during a slow spell but that can’t be fun to navigate around when things pick up.

Really cute coffee shop opened across the street from me.(1) any coffee house across the street from me is good(2) a place with friendly peeps is better and(3) one with good coffee is best. They have drip, pour over and espresso drinks as well as several good teas. They also have a small but nice selection of sammys and such. I am sure I’ll be back many times and will update my review then. I am sure they can hit the coveted five stars over time. Perhaps a loyalty card(or join small shops United)? That would be a big plus. Can’t think of anything else now. Good vibe and great location.
