Excellent sandwiches and friendly service. The creamy roast red pepper soup was the best I have tasted.

I’ve been here over 40 times and it never disappoints. The selection of cheeses, meats, snacks, and beverages is nothing short of amazing. There are plenty of unique products that you won’t find anywhere else. They make homemade pot pies, desserts, chocolate, bakery, and delicious deli case salads and meals. I leave happy every time and the staff is great. They do grill outs on Fridays in the nice weather months and always have killer soups and sandwiches. Try the BLT or tenderloin sandwich!!! Unreal!!!

Amazing cheese selection and they let you taste whatever cheese you want. I bought some Chedder Cheese Curds, Gouda and a 7 year aged Chedder. I also tasted an amazing Double Cream Brie with a very thin rind. I don’t like the rind and this one was outstanding. They have a Deli, I had the Corned Beef on a Pretzel bun which was very good. I enjoyed a Key Lime mousse for dessert. And for those who know what a Dr. Browns soda is, they have quite a selection. I couldn’t help myself and I got the Root Beer and the Black Cherry. They sell all kinds of cheese supplies. Cheese boards, knives, fondue pots and Raclette melters. The staff is highly knowledgeable. Good attitudes and very helpful. Definitely recommend.

Neat little place. We ordered a lobster sandwich and a Philly cheese steak sandwich. Loved, loved the lobster sandwich but I’ve had better Philly cheese steak sandwiches. The people that work in the store are super friendly and will jump in to help out if you need it.

My wife and I just shared a couple of Larry’s homemade potpies, 1 Cajun and the other lobster. At $ 9.95 and $ 14.95 respectively, they seemed pricey. But OMG were they ever worth every penny! They old man himself was pushing them, telling everyone that John Mc Givern himself raved about them! Feh! Had to try them ourselves. Worst part was having to wait an hour while they cooked on the grill(too hot in the house to want to use the oven and turn on the air conditioning). Definitely going to buy all of our pot pies from Larry’s Market in the future(Y.G.W.Y.P.F.) Pricey? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely! And it is actually cheaper than eating out. Larry’s has a large selection of Homemade Pot Pies, including beef, pheasant, chicken, crab, vegetarian, lobster, and Cajun shrimp just to name a few. Glad I’m a Brown Deer resident!

For this tired, hungry Texan, finding Larry’s while on a business trip to Milwaukee was a real treat. Their hospitality and tasty sandwiches(real corned beef! yay!) was food for this weary traveler’s soul. Highly recommended — I’ll be back next time I’m in the Milwaukee area.

This was my first time here so i guess i should’ve read the reviews before ordering. I had the daily special chicken breast on a wheat roll and a cup of beer brat and cheese soup. being from milwaukee, of course the soup was awesome! The sandwich however was a bit dry and the roll was too big fir the breast so i was biting more into bread than chicken.

Great great place. Really reasonable priced. Awesome deli selection, not only the routine items, but a good daily rotation. Grill out fridays are great too.

It’s a small market that serves sandwiches and salads for lunch. They have a small dining area too on the side. Their menu changes each week. I haven’t tried it yet, but starting on April 10 they will have outdoor cookouts for lunch every Friday. The market also has a variety of sweets, jams, wines, cheese, and bread. I like browsing through the store to find local or artisan goodies.

This place is amazing. I was in Milwaukee for the day for work and was jonesing for a late lunch. I checked Unilocal and was directed to Larry’s! The little neighborhood area it is in is adorable. I couldn’t wait to head in. The woman rang me up was soooo nice. I didn’t get her name but she had a nose ring. Shout out to you, awesome lady! She was so warm and inviting. I was so impressed with the pastries, cheese, and deli selection of meats and a la carte salads. You can also come in and get custom made to order sandwiches. Everything looked fresh. I took home a frozen pepper steak pot pie(!!! There were so many to choose from!!!) to make at a later date. They had so many homemade options of pre-prepared savory pies, pizzas, dumplings, breads, etc. that were clearly made in house and just need to be taken home and baked. Their deli was awesome… I brought home BBQ chicken meatballs and their honey mustard chicken salad that was so good, I had to come back and get a second container! Yum. I also loved their selection of beer, wine, and unique sodas and juices. If I lived any closer, I’d be here weekly. They have a cute little area to dine/work in.

Why do I find Larry’s Market 2 days before I move to the south side??? This place. is awesome. I think I did a cheese tasting class here about 10 years back, but I wasn’t sure. All I know is that I was a big dummy for not getting a sandwich to eat at that class. It would have changed the last decade of my life. The service at the deli was really great. I was helped by a woman who gave me any samples my heart desired. I was stuck between the Honey Mustard Chicken Salad Sandwich and the Oven Roasted Turkey(that they apparently roast in house– wowzaz)— I went with the Honey Mustard Chick Salad. It was soooo good. I got Barb’s Broccoli Salad as my side, per recommendation of friendly server, and it was as good as she claimed. The parmesan pasta salad also looked incredibly delicious. I came home with a veggie quiche(another recommendation of my friendly server), and can’t wait to pop that in the oven.

I think I just had my breakfast of cheese just from the free tasting. I’m from LA and I just found my cheese joint. Very nice people, exceeds good customer service. Also, they have everything else. Will definitely comeback everytime I visit here Milwaukee!

While on vacation here, I was quite hungry and craving some food, so I naturally went on Unilocal and typed in «food». Seeing that Larry’s had a 4 ½ star rating, I decided to try. Staff is very nice and attentive. They were very courteous and always willing to help. I ordered a sandwich(roast beef with mustard, mayo, lettuce, and tomato), which was quite nice. Larry even talked to me quite a bit, informing me about the tourist spots, good restaurants, etc. Mac n cheese was tasty and surprising– spinach and artichoke made good additions. Would love to come back.

I don’t know how I haven’t reviewed Larry ‘s until now. This place is amazing. I seriously have not found one item on the menu that I didn’t like. The only thing I don’t like about Larry’s is that I always eat too much because I can’t decide, buy tons of items and then proceed to eat them all. The honey mustard chicken salad is my absolute favorite. And as if the food wasn’t enough to get you in the door and coming back, the staff is incredible! They provide amazing customer service which can be hard to find in most businesses. I can not say enough good things. Please check them out.

A little piece of Italy in our own backyard! The groceries are great. But, I really enjoy the outdoor BBQ on Fridays during the summer months. Two BBQ’s to serve you. But, get there early as they tend to run out of grilled items. I usually get a Salmon burger or Cheeseburger Both excellent & cooked to order. The condiments are self serve. So, you can’t go wrong. The grocery selection is awesome, cheeses, wines, olive oils, pastas, breads, goodies for take and bake in the freezer, great sweets /chocolates, sauces, dressings, jams and then all the sandwich’s, salads or to-go stuff. Try Larry’s, you won’t be disappointed!

I absolutely love Larry’s Market. I first discovered it because we get lunch from here frequently at work and I was sent here one day to pick it up. Turns out, it’s just a few minutes from home. The deli for work lunches is what brought me here, and it is great, but what keeps me coming back is all the other little things. The amazing cheese selection, the chip selection, the desserts, how Larry sometimes gets all sarcastic with me, the grill out, and the«grocery» part. It does get a little crazy and crowded at lunch since it’s so popular and it’s a small place, but that’s ok. If you can snag a spot at the picnic tables outside in the summer, it’s a great place to eat too. The customer service is what I love most about this place. Everybody is always friendly and patient with me while I agonize over which delicious dessert to choose. For the record, my favorite is the raspberry struesel bar, with the butter cookie being a close second, but there’s always something different to try. I went in here last year before Christmas looking for cheese as gifts. For one, I knew I had a wine I wanted to get a gift and wanted a cheese to pair with it. They were very helpful and knowledge of what cheese would go with what, and let me sample anything and everything before I purchased. In short, this place is a neighborhood gem in an area that’s sorely lacking good local establishments.

This place makes us happy. Any place where I leave feeling happy deserves a 5– mouth-watering food at a locally-owned corner shop. So glad places like this still exist. The Friday grill out initially brought us to Larry’s, but we were quickly won over by the quaint old-fashion atmosphere of the store. We actually went back in 3 times for more, and had to wait in line every time(which we was perfectly fine with us!) The one thing that they could improve on is having more local products(pickled veggies and jarred sauces– bone suckin sauce from N. Carolina) For fellow helpers who appreciate supporting local stores, we recommend this place for a weekend(ESP Friday for Friday Grill out) outting!

I like the idea, I like the shop, I like the people. The food? Meh… I’ve experienced better. Somehow I keep coming back with higher hopes that this time will be better, and I always leave with a sour stomach. The most recent time was over the steak enchiladas and the Reuben Soup. When I mentioned that I didn’t feel well after, my friend scoffed at my choice of soup, which I suppose I had coming. I love reubens, and was excited at the idea, but it was literally a bowl of 1000 island dressing, laced with kraut and corned beef. WAY too sweet, WAY too heavy, and just overall not good. The enchiladas were fine, but you didn’t have the option of buying just one. The steak was chewy and the inside was pure mush. The Friday cookouts are a fun idea, and they run it pretty well, my only complaint is how quickly they run out of food. For the price(I ALWAYS drop at least 10 bones) I’ll keep looking.

This is the perfect lunch destination. Huge variety of sandwiches and quality ingredients. The staff has clearly been there for years and years. I had Larry’s BLT and I LOVED it. You see, they do the BLT in a totally different way. Nueske’s bacon, GOATCHEESE(!!!), balsamic dressing, tomatoes, lovely bread, and just the right amount of greens. I’ll be here all the time just for that particular sandwich.

You want gourmet cheeses and meats, quality sandwiches and takeout and any other high end accoutrement, Larry’s is your place. They also do great catering. Tucked in to a part of Brown Deer you’ve driven past a hundred times but never knew about, this is a small store you could still spend 30 minutes walking around. The cheese selection alone bears close inspection, but then there’s all the goodies for take and bake in the freezer, the great sweets and chocolates, the sauces, dressings and jams and then all the sandwich, salad and to-go foods. Plus, they handle catering from simple apps all the way up to hot meals. They do this chicken salad on endive leaves that will make you want to eat the whole tray of them. For my own catering work, I can call and place an order for cheeses, etc. and just walk in and pick up a box and sign a slip, which is convenient. They’re one of few places with their kind of selection in the city, much less on this side of town.
