Food is decent. Owner is consistently rude and condescending. I’ve gone there multiple times over the last several years dispite preparation errors and mistakes. Most recently I had asked for flour tortilla and he said he would not sell because he needed to reserve for the lunch rush the following day. Also, 80 percent of the time, he will not accept choriso orders. Very inconsiderate of the customer at the time. I will not go anymore due to the fact that I choose to go to a place for food and prefer to not be denied personal requests, especially if it costs extra money, because he worries about the next day or refuses to accomodate. Very disappointed.

Whether it’s an afternoon craving or a late night munchies sesh, you really can’t get better than Good Mexican Food! One of my favorite local places for sure.

Ok, Mr Senors. You have won over my Unilocal review. I decided to upgrade from a three star to a four star due to excellent service, being open at bar time, and portion size. Cash only $$! Standing outside area only. No tables. Sounds like a three star after all, right? Wrong. Honestly, the best way to enjoy this food is around bar close, as most do. You can watch your meal being prepared through the order to go window, as you sample spicy chip salsas. The owner is sarcastic and will usually joke around with you. He remembers faces, so be sure to strike up a conversation, if it’s not busy. Fast service. Huge portions. I suggest the ground beef nachos or burrito! I hope you enjoy this late night snack as much as I do! (Disclaimer: I have only tried the food after a night out at the bars. But, if I didn’t like the food, why am I still going back?)

The burrito is huge, we went here one night while passing by and tried it. This is a cash only establishment the guy was nice and made conversation while we waited. There’s np seat or anything outside but you can watch him make the food. He also had music on and was in his zone while he completed an order

Had the nachos last night after I saw someone else bring them into the establishment where we were watching the NCAA tournament, they looked and smelled amazing so we had to try them. They lived up to our expectations and they were one of the best nachos I have ever had! The homemade tortillas are cut up and fried on the spot and the generous toppings tasted very fresh and had great flavor. I am excited to bring my family back to try some of the other entrees!

Great great great Mexican take out. The guy behind the counter(owner?) can be a little rough around the edges but he’s just passionate about his product. Cash only. Made to order. Full plate. Likelihood of leftovers is high. And NOONE talks about this place even though it’s the most convenient and best option for this type of food North of third ward!

amazing!!! only complaint is you need to eat fast or it gets soggy and the way they roll burrito is messy and not rolled properly so it falls apart on you. food is so good!!! worth the mess. :-) best burrito I have ever had!!!

I’ve had food from here a couple of times over the years. Overall, the food has been pretty good, but not a destination for me. Most recently, my friends and I ordered the Mixed plate with two tacos, rice and beans. The pinto beans were a hyrbid of refried beans and regular beans with an al dente texture that I wasn’t a fan of, but the flavor was good. The rice was a bit clumpy and soft but also had good flavor. I chose chicken for the tacos, which was pretty dry and hard to swallow, although again, the flavor of the marinade was good. I could only eat one of the two tacos. The $ 7.95 price tag for this dish is based on getting corn tortillas. The flour tortillas are made from scratch here and I would have prefered them, but I wasn’t willing to pay the $ 2 upcharge to get them, $ 1 perhaps, but not $ 2. I have to draw the line somewhere. I appreciate that the food is all made fresh and from scratch, sans the corn tortillas. They make their own corn chips and salsas, too. Mr Señor’s is a great option for street food if I’m already within walking distance, but again, not a place I think of driving to for Mexican food.

No nonsense tacos that are quite tasty. If you get the boss man he is funny and will likely give you a hard time about something. There is a reason people line up in 20 degree weather for these tacos.

I’m so glad this place exists. Mr Señors has saved us from bad hangovers many a time — I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it sooner. We stopped by after hitting up a few local dive bars for a friend’s birthday.(Mr Señors is a walk-up establishment — you order and receive food at the window.) We ordered a chicken burrito and i ordered tacos(can’t remember what was in them!). While we waited, we hung around the window and snacked on the chips and salsa they provided. We didn’t have a long wait, and the guys inside were nice and talked to us a bit while we waited. My tacos were amazing. They had wonderful flavor and totally met my expectations. I don’t remember anything about them other than that they had corn tortillas and were hella good. The husb’s chicken burrito was massive but bland — but it got the job done. Decent food, decent service, great location.

Frankly the name«Mr. Señors» should have been a tip off to their general incompetence. Super disappointed with my burrito. –Had none of the fillings I requested, only salsa & chicken –Found a bone in the shredded chicken –Poorly constructed, left open on both ends so it fell apart as I was eating it pros being the chicken was decently flavored & salsa was quite spicy & fresh-tasting, but they still executed questionable judgment in the selection & manipulation of the ingredients. Definitely NOT at all worth $ 11.

When this place first opened, I loved it. The food was good, fast and cheap. The last time I went the food was way more expensive(over 10 bucks for a burrito?!) and the service was abhorrent. The owner himself is a complete jerk and berated my friend for smoking a cigarette(not near the takeout window, mind you.) Save the pontificating and just serve your food, «dude.» Seriously uncomfortable. It’s a shame that Jalisco’s and Mr. Señor will likely keep better options from entering the neighborhood. I’ll have to keep trekking to Guanajato for the Mexican experience I’m looking for. RIP El Chico Zuma.

If heaven took a food form and fell to the street, it would be this insanely fresh and tasty burrito. I am in love. It is cash only and it’s not always the fastest for street food, but the freshness of the ingredients are well worth the wait.

Big burritos and Mexican take out that is made-to-order. I was really, really hungry and ordered the biggest chicken burrito they offer. It was $$ but it was worth it. It had to weigh at least 3 pounds. And no, I couldn’t finish it all by myself — it was probably 3x the size of my stomach! Good comfort Mexican food. Even better after a couple drinks. Cash only.

I’d love to run a place like this, the walk up window is awesome. And then there’s the food that comes out of it. Here, for $ 10, I received a «señorita burrito» which is, assumingly, smaller than the«grande.» It was so not steak, nor was it attractively seasoned or expertly wrapped to stay together. There was a ton of lettuce. And it tasted strange and the cheese did not make sense. And at that price. *shudder* Threw it away after 2 bites. And I hate to say that, and feel bad about saying it. But I feel like I got ripped off. It did not seem like it was made with love, it seemed like I got this burrito because someone that hated my guts gave it to me to make me suffer because they know I love a great burrito. For less than that price, I could have gotten a huge burrito with delicious shrimp that would last me 2 meals and friendly customer service from my hidden gems that I will soon review. And next time, I will. I love burritos. Burritos make my heart sing. Burritos are the king of my world. This burrito was just not a burrito that could reach my expectations. Sorry, Señor.

Nachos to the rescue! Coming home after an evening of hanging out at the bars I needed some nourishment. After seeing Nicole H.‘s glowing review of the made-to-order chips, I knew I must stop by Mr Senors. Dude was working the window when I arrived and hooked me up with some sweet nachos with all the fixings. Their food is fresh and the newly fried chips was awesome. Although a bit pricey, you get a ton of food. I wasn’t able to polish off the nachos.

Mr Senors knows what they are — drunk food. They run their hours accordingly, and only take cash. Do not try and go here at noon on a Wednesday for lunch! There will always be a line when the sun goes down, and when I lived on the East Side I was always in it. Great quick easy and booze-soaking food. My only qualm is that it needs to be consumed quickly after purchase, due to the gooey juiciness that will likely soak up any crunchy nachoes nestled beneath the feast.

It took way too long for us to finally try Mr. Señor’s — we’d go on a Monday or Tuesday night when they were closed and then forget about it for awhile. Now that we discovered it, I swear we’re making up for lost time by eating here once a week. We’re buying a house across town and we’ve already talked about needing to come back to the East Side just to have Mr. Señor’s. The food is spectacular, but that’s all wrapped up in how they do things here. I just have to praise on the owner, Dude. He’s always there. He’s super-friendly and talkative and he «gets it.» The medium and hot sauce are made from the peppers he has hanging in the window and the amount of heat in each is determined on the kind of sun those peppers got that week. The tortillas are made from scratch and those tortillas are cut up and fried fresh for each order of nachos. Seriously, who else is hand-making their tortillas, much less a walk-up take out joint? He clearly cares about putting out great, fresh, wonderful-tasting food. Your order will take a few minutes to make and Dude is always there to have a great conversation with you — he’ll talk with great enthusiasm about his food and tell you anything you want to know. He really hooked me with a speech about doing a few things well — some Mexican places have 810 items on their menu and none of them are stellar. Dude is focusing on creating a few things that really knock your socks off. He has ruined all the rest of the chips in the city for me with these tortilla chips. They’re thick and crisp and fresh and so damn good. I wish I could just take a bag home with me. I don’t live far away, but it still wouldn’t take much for to-go nachos to wither and be awful, but they make the trip home absolutely covered in your choice of meat(I like the pork) as well as all the toppings you could want. I have to eat the first few with a fork in order to uncover a chip or two I can see and get my fingers on. They’re simply amazing. Don’t be a hero and order the grande burrito. You can’t eat it all. Especially if you’ve been drinking — you’re just looking for a belly ache or worse. We order the nachos and the Señorita burrito and split both and never finish them — it’s an insane amount of food for under $ 20. I’ve said before that we eat a lot of takeout and there are a lot of options in this part of town, but we have forsaken all the others in love of Mr. Señor’s. It’s perfection.

Upgrade! In my mind, at least. We’re sticking with four stars here. It’s not like it’s mind-blowing foodie fare, people. It’s really really good, though, and now, it’s a *thing* for me(going to Mister Señor’s is a thing, that is). The Señorita burrito made medium with ground beef is, quite possibly, one of the most comforting of Mexican foodz I’ve experienced in recent or even distant memory. The burritos are still origami, and they’re still«open when the sign is on.» And he’s softer these days, at least to me. I think because I am most certainly a regular, maybe. Seems a bit pricy for envelope burritos to me, perhaps, but still — they’re so good. And they make me happy. The burritos, that is. Also? The place, and the association, and all of it, really. *Still cash only, too. Buyer be made aware.
