My computer got sent to PC Clinic as a subcontractor for a warranty that I purchased from a reputable big box store. PC Clinic contacted me to get the specifics about my computer prior to me sending it to insure that they would have the parts necessary to fix it and guaranteed that the repairs would be completed within 7 – 10 days. More than 10 days passed before I received a call letting me know that they«needed to order a part» for my computer and it would take a few more days. About 2 ½ weeks after I sent the computer to them, I finally received my computer back to find that it had been improperly packaged and the screen was destroyed in transit. I also sent in my PC with an Intel I5 processor, but the computer I received had an I3 sticker on the front. I called to complain about the damage and the downgrade. I spoke to Verdad from the Warranty division, who talked over me, told me not to worry about not having a computer, and just give him time. Verdad told me that he knows that FedEx mishandles nearly all of the computers they ship through them and stated that PC Clinic would not take any responsibility for the damage despite the fact that the computer was packaged improperly. Verdad guaranteed me that the I3 sticker was just a sticker and my computer actually had an I5 processor inside. Verdad also told me how to verify this. I attempted to verify what processor was in the computer and learned that it is in fact an I3 processor. This experience is admittedly through a third party, but PC Clinic has demonstrated horrible customer service and extreme incompetence. They downgraded my computer without ever advising me that I would be receiving anything less than what I sent them and tried to cover that fact up when asked about it. They have refused to pay for the damages and only offered to have me send the computer back to them for additional repairs that they will not guarantee a time frame or promise a replacement computer.

I purposely waited a few days to write up this review. Like most people who need a computer repair technician, I was in a bad situation thanks to the machinations of the dark, evil Microsoft empire. If they took just a small portion of the money they spend paying for product placement in every single television show on prime time, and instead spent it on working out all the nasty glitches and problems with Microsoft 8, I wouldn’t have to even write this. I made a desperate set of calls around town and found only this one technician was familiar with what’s not that unusual a problem, Windows 8 doesn’t play well with SSD silent hard drives, and there are a number of other set ups that send you into the frustrating boot-up error cycle of death. The others didn’t seem to be aware of the problem, though of course I already found out it was fairly common by searching the Internet for solutions I could handle myself. I liked the confidence this fellow exuded, and brought in my ‘puter. Although my hard drive had to be replaced, I was very satisfied with the repair work, and the communication about the repair work, I will return for the next time Microsoft screws me. The problems are that he is the only tech with two active locations, the turn around time is not as fast as it could be, though possibly faster than the competition. The pricing was fair, but I had to buy a new copy of Windows 8 and he sold me an older version for the newer price. This isn’t a big deal in terms of money, but it is a big deal in terms of more time wasted, the upgrade to 8.1 takes time, then there was a year’s worth of updates, then I had to remove all the crap I already spent an hour removing from Windows 8.0, Bing and all that other Microsoft dead weight and time wasters. The location for this shop is quite good, right across from the main post office, with its own little parking lot, I don’t know about the other location. If you’re reading this before you even buy a computer, I suggest you be smarter than me and instead of wasting the couple of weeks it takes to know Windows 8, either go Apple, or learn Linux instead. If it’s too late and you’ve got computer issues, I think this place might be the best in town.

I have passed here so many times on my way to the post office. The owner is really honest. I needed to replace the hardware(motherboard) on my laptop I own an HP, its barely two years old the owner told me to call HP and negotiate with them to get it fixed. He was going to charge me over $ 300. ITWORKED. I don’t know to many business owners who would go out of the way like this for any for their customers. I called him back to say thank you. The prices are listed in store. He’s worth it.
