New Bayview find! Inexpensive drinks and cool laid back atmosphere. I will defiantly return to this watering hole. Located in former hectors location.

A decent neighborhood pub at the old Hector’s location. No parking lot just street parking. No wifi but they do have cable TV, AMI jukebox, and their own stereo system. One bar size pool table and a few video games(pinball and Ms. PacMan) for enterntainment. The set up is a rectangular bar on one side and handful of 4 tops on the other side with the pool table and video games. Not a large beer selection but I am sure you can find something that will quench your thirst. They also have a small food menu. I can only recommend the homemade potato chips — not too greasy and had a nice crisp to it. My wife and friend had the tacos and said they were good — you have a choice of chicken, beef, or pork adobo. Great place to hang out and have a couple of beers and may be watch some sports. Nothing exciting about the place… it is just A-OK.

Perfect neighborhood bar! Food is inexpensive, you get a lot for the price, and it is delicious! My favorite is the grilled cheese with homemade potoato chips. Great fish fry as well. Friendly service too.

What can I say about this place… Inexpensive drinks($ 2 Blatz, $ 3PBR, $ 4.40 rails) and a generally cool neighborhood bar feel. It’s a little more of a dive than most of the places in Bay View, but not scary enough to avoid. The jukebox has a good selection of classic rock tunes, and there’s one of those fancy digital jukeboxes if you want to hear some newer stuff and queue some tunes up from your phone. They do serve food, but it’s your typical bar faire: wings, pizza, nachos, etc. Nothing to write home about, but good nonetheless. +1 for the free shuttle during Summerfest, and the Star Trek and Hook pinball machines!

Comparing the old R&D to the former tenant at this locale is quite striking. Inexpensive, decent pub food(not gastro, just pub food) and friendly enough guvnor. Might be Duke’s new favorite local. One request, update the sound system… those speakers were cracking and poppin and the volume was nowhere near 11. A minor inconvenience in the big picture.

Adequate beer selection, friendly service, Brewers games on the TV. Plus, great, small pizzas for a snack. Only thing lacking is the music: stuck between the 70’s and 90’s and not really committed to either.

Visited this place for the first time. It is quite different from the last time I was here when it was a completely different establishment. They did a really nice remodel of the place. The people seemed decent enough and drink prices were reasonable.($ 2.75 bottles of beer, $ 6 stiff tall mixers) I do anticipate meeting my friends down here again for drinks. Maybe I’ll try the food.

R&D Pub is a neighborhood spot that’s still finding its stride, but I’m excited for its potential. It’s off the beaten KK path and a nice option further south in Bay View. I’ve been to R&D twice: Both times, service was friendly; beer prices, good; food offerings, compelling. R&D’s menu is confined to one appetizer(nachos) and a handful of sandwiches. Standard bar fare on a relatively small scale. But dang, the nachos are good. I’m already planning a trip back to try the Reuben. $ 6 for a sandwich with choice of two sides is a price that caught my eye. I love living in Bay View, but for all its foodie hot spots(Lulu, Honeypie, Odd Duck, etc etc etc), we don’t have one solid, reliable locale for bar food(that I know of, anyways). Maybe R&D could be just that, at least in this quadrant of the neighborhood.

Mine and my husbands first visit here. Service is good from the bartender. He is friendly and helpful. We started with the nachos, they were good. Typical pub food. We also tried the burgers and chips and that was good to. We didnt like the cole slaw so we traded it for potato salad. Prices are fair. Menu is limited. Its a bar that serves food. Margaritas were made with Casadores which I enjoyed. It was the Sunday before st. Patty so I was surprised it was so slow. We would visit again, probably more for the drinks although the food was not bad.
