Good authentic food for a reasonable price. We eat here regularly and have never had any issues.

Excellent food! I had my wedding reception here, they closed down the restaurant, and I was able to have it held in the whole restaurant. They were very accommodating and helpful. The service was magnificent, I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant!

Oh my God-don’t miss this place! Really authentic Mexican food! I finally found taco de lingua! Everything was SOGOOD! My wife had pork tamales-so great. Small family business right next to the brand new Hampton Inn & Suites across Greenfield from State Fair Park. My wife’s margarita was delicious and mellowed her out quickly! She’s been turned off by Mexican food for years, got her to try this place and she(and me) we very pleasantly surprised! Nice décor, friendly fast service, lovely outdoor patio area. Please support places like this The refritos frijoles were divine! When they make simple things like this so amazing it’s a dead giveaway that it’s a helluva place!

Stopped in tonight. Great service and great food. Very fresh. I had a light dinner — Chicken tacos — very very tasty. The waiter was extremely friendly.

Descriptive phrase: homey Mexican pub. I’ve been to Señor Sol many times, as my father cannot live without their Cochinita Pibil($ 11.75). I must say, this dish(I think he gets it with chicken, onions, peppers, beans, rice) is extremely tasty, a bit spicy, and unique in my personal experience. I also have had their Pollo en Mole Poblano($ 11.75), which was almost half a chicken(bone-in), slow-cooked in a tangy mole sauce. Their mole is unlike any I’ve had elsewhere, and isn’t my favorite but is definitely unique. Also served with rice and beans. Señor Sol isn’t going to win any awards in the Mexican scene, but it’s always been solid food and friendly service in a homey atmosphere. I’ll continue to patronize.

Food was very bland. Sangria… who can screw that up… they can. Fish taco very mushy. Seems that the fish was previously frozen. Cucumber salsa missing avocado. Now I know why it was not crowded on a Saturday night. Food is terrible. I will not be going there again.

Milwaukee has so many mexican places… I’ve spent my time going to the good places, that when a friend suggested this one, I thought… sure…why not… how bad could it be? Well, it could be pretty bad. From the moment the stale chips were put on the table, I knew this could go downhill quickly. The chimichanga was alright, but was overcooked and not as much meat or cheese as I’ve had at most other places.

I had the steak burrito dinner and I thought for 11.50 that this would be awesome. It was bland and average so I will say its over priced. The 5.00 steak burrito off the taco truck was much better on 27 and Oklahoma area.

I agree with some of the reviews that state that the food is a little bland. The most flavorful additions to the meal include the mole sauce and the cucumber and red pepper salsas(do yourself a favor and combine the two!). Having said that, I have never had a bad meal here. The portion sizes are decent. The service here is very(VERY) laid-back; not unpleasant, but definitely a bit more laid-back than what would normally expect at a family restaurant. The waitstaff was kind and attentive to my needs. The outdoor patio is severely underused and a bit small in my opinion. If you have a bigger group, it would be great to just sit out there and monopolize the area. Not much to look at though with the current development project across the street. Long story short, this isn’t the best nor the worst Mexican restaurant I have been to. For the location, it does quite well.

As of yet, I have only been to Señor Sol once. It is a medium sized Mexican restaurant with a good selection on the menu, and in my experience really good service. The food is somewhat bland. I come from a larger city where I grew up mostly in Latino/Hispanic neighborhoods, and a have a pretty good idea how fantastic Mexican food can be, even from a little hole in the wall fast food place, but the flavors in the food here were somewhat lacking. The food was pretty bland. It was a bummer, to be honest. All in all though, their prices are pretty good overall, and there is a lot of variety to choose from.

I’m not sold on Señor Sol. The service wasn’t great(she was extremely uninterested and it seemed that we were bothering her). The food was ok — but lacked some flavor. And, well — I just didn’t feel very welcome. I’m not sure that I care to go back really. There are many other options out there to fill that Mexican craving.

Love this place! I love that they bring you 3 options with your chips for dipping, downside is that they are small cups, the cucumber salsa is awesome! I can’t stand«americanized» mexican food, i like authentic and this place has it. My constant choice there are the tacos. You choose Mexican or American, both have choice of soft corn or flour tortillas and choice of meat, the Mexican option only adds onion, cilantro and lime — so good, so, so, so good. Ofcourse the American adds cheese and sour cream(don’t do it!). Have never had a bad experience here and will continue to return time and time again!

I had the huge burrito and it was completely stuffed full with the most delicious, stewed chicken. The rice and beans were awesome. We also ordered the guacamole and tacos with beef, Mexican style(with clianro and onions). The food was very delicious and the service was fantastic. The dining room was tidy and clean.

I like it. I am not the biggest fan of Mexican food, but this is one of my favorites in the Milwaukee area. It is much cleaner than the ones at 5th& National or those featured on Dirty Dining which is a big plus for me. I love the salsas here and the cheese enchiladas. The service has also always been on point. I will definitely go back when I’m in the area.

This is the second time i’ve been to Señor Sol. The first time was for Cinco de Mayo and the second time was for Diecinueve de Julio. It is a nice little place, the service has been very nice. We used a certificate with great ease. I ordered the enchalada with mole, which was good. I love mole, it wasn’t the best i’ve had. I live very close, so will probably go there occassionally, but with La Fuente’s new location just as close, i’ll probably go there. In general, i feel like mexian restaurants are skimping on the flavor and spice lately. I want more flavor!

This place is terrible. The food is overpriced and bland. The salsa is weak. The service was horrid. Go to Taco Bell instead.

Mexican restaurants are everywhere in West Allis but this is one that’s not worth missing. Everything I’ve had here(and it’s almost a weekly trip up the block) is awesome! I recommend the steak as my meat of choice but there are many options along with vegetarian entries that my wife prefers. My choices: 1. Enchilada Verde w/Steak 2. Steak Taco Dinner(Mexican Style is the way to go!) 3. Quesadilla w/Steak

Sometimes the most interesting places to eat are those that you don’t notice. We found this restaurant through a loyalty program listing, and went for lunch a few days ago. It’s apparently been around for several years, but we’d never noticed it… We like Mexican restaurants, although the quality varies widely, and we tend to be a little reluctant to try new ones, when there are so many known good ones. It’s usually a bad sign to walk into one and find it completely empty in the middle of the lunch hour, which is what happened here. Despite that bad omen, we couldn’t find a thing to criticize. The food was very good, not the best Mexican ever, but definitely a step(or two!) above average fare, the service was excellent, the facility was clean and inviting(though a bit of a strange layout), and the prices were very reasonable. Chips were served with a trio of a red sauce, an unusually mild green sauce, and a very chunky and unusual pico de gallo that appeared to have(of all strange things) cucumber in it. Quite frankly, I have no idea why this place wasn’t swamped for the lunch hour, seeing as how a number of other area restaurants get very busy. I can’t give it five stars overall, but it is definitely five stars at the price and for what it is trying to be. It is really nice to see a place that does just what it seems to set out to do.
