I had been to Trocadero one time before and it would have been a much worse review that time around. The review is based off of my most recent trip. Once again, service strikes as the lack luster trend in the brew city. Overall knowledge, follow-up, and ability to connect dooms most locations. Trocadero has fallen down the poor service path both times I have been there when it was busy and slow. I will say that the food was a little more flavorful on this trip compared to the last. I had the croque-Madame with a medium yoke. Have to be honest here, a lot of restaurants struggle with a medium yoke but it was pretty good. My previous complaint was that the food was bland and yet again they could use some more salt. Luckily the shakers are on the table. Atmosphere is solid and with the patio they have it is a really great spot for brunch. Good vibes and a nice selection of food just lacking a bit of execution with flavor.

Went here while visiting friends in Milwaukee, and it was probably the best breakfast I have ever gotten. I had a 5 sausage omelet, one of them was cheddar bacon sausage and was too good to be a real thing, and it all was topped with sausage gravy. Best omelet of my life, and the potatoes were good too. Another person with me got a breakfast burrito and it too was excellent, and I only wasnt disappointed I didnt get it because my sausage paradise was so good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and I would wait over 45 minutes to get in as well.

Awesome menu, cool atmosphere and delicious eats! The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is that my eggs Benedict were 100% cooked and no yolk oozed. Really disappointing. Aside from that it was incredible. Duck confit was so tender! Hash browns were perfectly cooked and they had a really awesome tea selection, served with your own infuser. Places like this make Milwaukee, Milwaukee. It’s why we keep coming back.

I know I’m late in reviewing this, but Trocadero has been a go to spot for my brunch activities for the past few years. While it’s always recommended to call ahead, as they can be particularly busy during the summer months, it’s definitely worth it if you can manage to get a spot on their patio! I’m not usually an egg fan, but every time I go, I have to battle myself not to order their omelettes, and try something new. I do not fight myself well. This leads to an EGGSaperating situation. Get it? Puns. Because exasperating soungs like eg— nevermind. They usually have a fair amount of different bloodies available to hit whatever mood you’re in, and the service has always been top notch. While the service is always friendly, a fair amount of the time I’m there, it takes quite a long time for food to come out, even on days when it doesn’t seem terribly busy. This might just be a staffing issue, since the servers are prompt and quick enough. If you can manage to gather the energy to call them at ten for a noon reservation on Sunday, definitely give it a go!

Oooohhh. Trocadero. When I first moved here it came highly recommended. I’m not sure why it took me so long to try it but I will be back soon! Friends and I met for brunch here after partaking in the Milwaukee Coffee Festival one sunny Saturday. It was a beautiful day and we dined on the patio. There were a lot of appealing options on the brunch menu. I opted for the Breakfast Burrito. It was huge, covered in enchilada sauce, and yummy. Bites of egg, cheese, potato, veggies and chorizo swathed in a giant flour tortilla. Delicious. My friend had crepes which I coveted. There’s an extensive drink menu including everything from bloody Mary’s to mojito’s to coffee drinks. I don’t drink, but next time may try a virgin mojito. Yum. Service was good and we enjoyed ourselves. We will come again to enjoy Trocadero!

Meh. I used to stand by this as the best brunch place in the city. It seems a lot has changed. They changed my favorite item(the BELT) breakfast sandwich and it now comes on like a hamburger bun instead of Breadsmith sourdough. Besides that, the service here is always poor. It’s more expensive(entrees & drinks) then most other brunch places, and although the food is still good, the portion size is not ideal. I’ve come here a couple times now for brunch and wanted the burger with an egg on it, but it’s $ 16

It was the friendly and welcome service that was outstanding at this brunch joint. I loved the patio and the bloody mary. Food was pretty solid and prices easy on the wallet. If you’re looking for a place to sit outside and whittle some time away with a drink, grub and pals, check out Trocadero.

Simple but very good food. Drinks are done right and staff laid back. Menu has a very French flair to it. Service efficient and food came out timely. Nice find.

We went with friends for dinner, mainly because we had been given a Trocadero gift card. The meal was good, and we had a lovely evening. The problem can at the end. We gave the server the card, and he returned saying they would not honor it, because it is a Lowlands group card and they no longer are part of that group. The card clearly says Trocadero not lowlands. As we were settling up the manager stopped by with the«how was everything this evening?» I expressed my disappointment as she said“I wish I knew about this before?” I said I hadn’t signed the credit card receipt and what would she have done if she knew before. She can do it now. At which point she mDe it clear she wouldn’t do anything. So yes, the meal was fine. But we won’t return. There are lots of places to eat.

My wife and I go to the Troc a lot. It’s always one of her first suggestions for a place to eat, and my son also likes to go there for brunch when he visits us. Both of them are more adventurous eaters than I am, so the gastro pub style menu has more appeal to them than me. I usually stick with pancakes or a burger and Diet Coke, so my own evaluation of the food and drink isn’t all that helpful. The burgers are good, though. I can say that I love the atmosphere. The patio is charming, and I particularly like the porch area, where one can get fresh air without getting a chill from the wind on these semi-decent days we get in spring and fall here. The main interior room is a bit dark for my taste, though some people find it cozy. I’ve always found the service very good. It can be on the slow side when they are busy, as they often are, but I think that is more the kitchen than the wait staff. And by the standards of the East Side, parking is pretty good – I’ve pretty much always been able to find a place somewhere across the street, though not necessarily all that close, and without having to feed a meter, too.

Troc! You are so strange and leave me with such mixed feelings! Brunch was awesome! Dinner was not. Let’s start with the good(brunch). I got the standard Bloody Mary and it was one of the best I’ve had. I will totally come back and order it again. I ordered the duck confit hash, which I totally recommend. I suppose I don’t have anything to compare it to, because I’ve never had duck confit before, but everything tasted fantastic and the whole dish came together very well. I hate ordering the same thing twice, but I wanna stick with this. It was that good. My man friend got the quinoa skillet, which was tasty as well. However I preferred my dish. With that experience under my belt, I was pretty confused with how dinner turned out. This time around, I went for the pasta provencal. My favorite part of the dish was the kalamata olives, which didn’t overpower it as they sometimes tend to do – it perfectly accented the flavors already present. What originally drew me to the dish ended up being the biggest disappointment: the braised pork belly. Pork belly is my fave, but this was overcooked, dry, and kinda hard to chew. I prefer not to get pasta when I go out to eat, because pasta is so cheap, and this feeling held true. I also tried my boo thang’s crispy brick chicken and had a similar underwhelming feeling(plus his portion was much smaller). Both times, service was great. We didn’t have to wait for a table. The atmosphere is lovely. Had I written this review solely after my brunch, experience is would have been almost a 5, but dinner was a pretty big bummer. That said, I’ll totally be back for brunch again.

Went for Sunday brunch a few weeks back and enjoyed the experience very much. The staff was great, the atmosphere was perfect for brunch, and the bloodies really are that good. Where they fell short(just a little) was on the crepes. We ordered two different types of crepes, and while the filling was absolutely delicious, the crepes themselves were just not what I was expecting. Instead of being medium sized, light, and thin; they were huge, thick, dense and chewy. They had nice flavor, it just wasn’t the consistency that I was expecting from a crêpe. Perhaps instead of making one huge crêpe(it resembled a Boxty), split it into two smaller crepes so they’re not as thick and doughy. Outside of that, the experience was great, and the rest of the brunch menu we tried was outstanding.

I’ve been wanting to go to Trocadero for a while, their sign and location always intrigue me when I’m driving across the Holton bridge. Then I discovered they were on the Lowlands city tin so we decided to go for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We got there before the dinner rush and ordered drinks at the bar. I got a white sangria which was a drink special and it might have been my favorite Sangria of all I’ve tried, so crisp and refreshing. We also ordered the Parmesan chips with aioli dip, the perfect classy-fied bar snack. I really like the bar area, it is a triangular room at the front of the building with large windows which let in a lot of light at that time of day. We watched the Bucks game on the tv behind the bar. When we were ready for dinner we were seated on the indoor patio. It was still early so the tables were mostly empty, it is a deceivingly big space for having such a skinny entry way. My only comment about the service is that when I ordered a glass of wine I wasn’t familiar with it also seemed like the waitress wasn’t familiar with the wine, saying ‘oh that one’ when I pointed out my selection on the menu instead of taking the chance to tell me a little bit more about it. I ordered the Pasta Provencal and my boyfriend ordered the Water Street Burger. The burger was surprisingly good, the pasta was fine but I would choose something different next time. I liked the variety of menu options. Highlights of Trocadero were the bar, the sangria, and the robust menu. We will definitely be back when they have music on their patio this summer as the pedestrian bridge makes it a quick walk across the river.

Went with a friend for brunch. They serve brunch both Saturday and Sunday starting at 9am, and it does not disappoint! Overall this place had great service and excellent food. The building itself is really cool too, both inside and out. For our meal– we ordered the ham and Gruyère crêpe and croque-Madame paired with traditional mimosas. Everything was perfectly delicious and very filling. With such a great meal and so many more mouthwatering things we didn’t get to on the menu, I would definitely go back!

Trocadero is a lovely bar/restaurant located on the east side of Milwaukee. I have been here for both lunch and dinner, and have had a great experience both times. The staff is friendly and makes sure that you are taken care of. I have never been disappointed by the food here. They have some very unique dishes. My most recent trip was for dinner with my coworkers. We started off with the cheese board appetizer. You pick 3 cheeses from a list of several choices, and you also get season fresh fruit, fig jam, candied walnuts and a baguette. If you are a cheese lover, like I am, you will enjoy this. For my meal, I had the grilled cheese sandwich. This isn’t your average grilled cheese, though. It comes with gruyère, boursin, smoked gouda and red rock cheddar cheese with tomato jam on multi grain bread. Was it awesome! Trocadero has a fantastic beer and wine selection to choose from. You are sure to find something that you like. There will be more trips here in the future for me.

3 stars is just a tad much for the mediocrity that is trocadero. I wanted to really like this place… I gave it a few chances — a special menu dinner, last New Years, a brunch, and the regular menu, under new management this New Years. The service has alway been fine enough. The food has been fine — but not really memorable, except for NYE2015, after which i will forever remember the hockey puck that they marketed as «petit filet sliders.» A part of me feels like the fact that the appetizer was fine should even out the pretty terrible entrée, but it doesn’t. I will say that i was getting over a stomach bug, so this was the first appetite I had in 3 days, and I was hungry for some meat. It came, and it was overcooked to the max. And maybe even cooked hours ago. The sliders were just inedible, but the second star is earned because they did take it off our bill(even though I ate the $ 2 uncharged salad… that was fine, and like I said… first appetite in 3 days). $ 48 later, for a glass of pinot, prosecco, brie baked scallops, a plate of mussels and the day old tasting sliders… not really worth it, IMHO. Also, I made a reservation for NYE on December 8th, and called again after they changed new ownership(which was Dec. 18), and confirmed, but when we walked in for our 8pm reservation, they didn’t have a record of it. Luckily, they could seat us, but then forgot that they had seated us. That unfortunately, didn’t help their cause. Thanks Trocadero for not being a contender on our restaurant rotation.

Consistent and tasty. Ordered the croquettes which were a lite heavy on goat cheese but crispy and delicious nonetheless. Saw a new lobster bisque«paprika» soup and gave it a try. The soup base was a little thin to be a bisque. Lobster was tough a little over done and the potatoes were bountiful along with the corn. The spice was good but I couldn’t get past the fact that I wanted a thicker broth. Everything else ordered was good, fillet sliders, sweet potato fries, kids grilled cheese and burgers.

Sunday brunch here is out of this world. They have a special menu for brunch and the Rib Gratin is absolutely amazing. The bread was the right amount of flakey and under this creamy explosion of flavors. The bloody Mary’s are fantastic and the place has such a cool ambience about it.

Came here after the Lakefront Brewery tour for our free Lakefront beer, and stayed much longer than expected. We ended up with two bartenders, Alyssa and Sol, both of which were friendly but Sol took it to another level. Just an extraordinary conversationalist and makes you want to stay. We tried ordering a menu item that we were excited about, but they didn’t carry it anymore. We ended up getting a tapenade plate that was good, but could have used something else. Next time we’re in Milwaukee we’ll definitely come back to chat with Sol and give Trocadero the shot to earn that star back.

Dropped-in for brunch on 4÷20÷14 at around 1:30pm. + Plenty of seating — despite it being Easter Sunday, we had our pick of nearly any spot + Hostess was friendly and flexible + Garden room was nice; lots of light — Garden room was quite warm — sunlight + heated floors = too toasty + Patio seems awesome — would like to sit out there in the summer + Server promptly appeared, explained menu and specials + Coffee and waters were always kept full + Nice beer list — fairly limited tap selection, but tons of bottles + Great mixed drinks — Both were pricey + Cool menu; lots of great options — Very pricey, in general — $ 13 for a breakfast burrito sans any sides, is a bit steep The bill for the three of us, with 1 round of drinks, came to $ 80 after tip. No appetizers, just three entrees, three drinks, and a coffee. Hmm…
