Have been getting meals delivered weekly. They are all delicious and it’s great to have an easy option for following a no grain no dairy diet. These are made with real food. I highly recommend anyone stuffing themselves with ‘food’ like lean cuisines give this a try for a much healthier way of life. Its also amazing that they give you calorie count and macro info. Its great seeing the menu ahead of time and being able to choose qauntity of meals. Having the option to skip weeks makes the subscription more practical, and you don’t have to subscribe if you want to go on a week by week basis. My only critique is i wish they had a low carb track with more veggie sides instead of so many potatoes!

I don’t follow one diet in particular, but I do have an affinity for meat. So this truck appealed to me. I only got one dish(pork carnita I think?) and it was fantastic. The flavors on that thing were just amazing. My only complaint(and I think this is maybe just a food truck thing) is I could have used just a little more food. But that won’t stop me from going back!

Lunch options in or very near the US Bank building downtown are limited at best. It is nice to see the food trucks coming out now that the weather is(slightly) improving. I sought out the Urban Caveman Truck as my primal curiosities were peaked by the variety of food options for restrictive dieters– Paleo, GF, Lactose Free. Super helpful and courteous staff(owner?). I tried the burger bowl, found it to be delicious, but at a price point of $ 8 I may seek out alternative lunch options first. I would highly recommend this to friends with food allergies or restrictive diets as there are very few restaurants that cater to these issues.

Paleo: a dietary choice(or restriction) oft discussed, oft misunderstood. Paleo, as best I can summate without delving into the nuances: «Hey everyone! Maybe don’t eat so much wheat/gluten and dairy… it may be delicious, but it wasn’t really around 20,000 years ago when we — humans — were hunter-gatherers. Eating „paleo“ every now and again = a solid choice for your health! Dairy and gluten can be difficult for the human body to process. Truth.» Paleo: don’t be scared, it can be delicious!(Challenge your thoughts re: what a meal«needs» to be complete. Read: you don’t need the bun.) Full disclosure: I went true paleo for a week and a half once, and it was really, really difficult. That said, I lost a substantial amount of weight just in that week and a half, and I could definitely notice a difference in my body and how I felt. I had the pleasure of trying UC last night for the first time and I was wicked impressed. Their pulled pork w/sweet potatoes? Delightful. The pork was tender, the sweet potato mash was savory/sweet(a little cinnamon in there, perhaps?) and the BBQ sauce on top was spicy and flavorful.(You can choose between mild and spicy BBQ, and I went for the spicy as I’m a gal who loves her scovilles. I certainly wasn’t disappointed.) Also! Even if you’re not a dessert person you should probably spring for these amazing homemade coconut/chocolate cups they make. They’re comprised of just a few ingredients: coconut, coconut oil, dairy-free dark chocolate and sea salt, but boy howdy, they’re flipping fantastic. Five big stars for a few reasons: –really nice owners/staff –really good food(high quality, great execution) –reasonable prices –this truck caters to folks with dietary restrictions/people interested in the paleo lifestyle without being in your face or annoying about it(they just do what they do and do it well, regardless of the fact that they have a «theme») Yay Urban Caveman! Paleo-ers and non-paleoers alike should check ‘em out.

Cashew Chicken Curry on cauliflower rice. Delicious. Spicy. Local. Fresh. Although, I feel bad for my cubicle neighbor this afternoon … P.U. ;-)

A+ for creating something I’ve never seen before. A truck catering to those who eat paleo. Or just sometimes eat paleo(like me). I tried the curry chicken with riced cauliflower. It was flavorful and tasty. For $ 8 it wasn’t a whole lot of food, but that’s fine since I know the ingredients are probably a bit more expensive than standard food(pastured meat, organic, etc). I went around 12:30 and two of the items were already sold out, so get there early. I would have really liked to try the burger or pulled pork(both were sold out). Note to Urban Caveman– make more food! I’ll be back, but not when I’m really hungry.
