I’ve been using this Walgreens pharmacy since I moved to the neighborhood over 10 years ago. Recently the pharmacy department has become just awful. Just tonight my sister had to argue with them because they recorded the wrong prescription and I had to page my doctor again to phone it in a second time. This is not something a patient needs when they’re waiting for their post surgical pain medication. Maybe management has cut hours, employees or benefits because suddenly there are a bunch of new employees who are rude and slow. One day I stopped at the drive through and had to wait for a woman who was standing outside her car to argue with the employee about the transfer of her medications from another pharmacy. I could overhear her getting some Catch 22 runaround. Patients who are sick, ill, debilitated, disabled or in pain don’t need extra stress and grief from their pharmacy. I’ve seen too many people arguing and complaining with the staff. Tonight was the last draw. There’s other Walgreens on nearly every corner around my neighborhood, although if this an indication of a larger chain management problem, maybe we should go to CVS.

The employees seem like their mind is elsewhere. I avoid coming here if I can. I happened to stop here on the way to work because I remembered as I was heading to work that I forgot to buy something I would need today. I think I have come here twice in the past 12 months. They are on a corner — technically but unless you know it’s here, it can be easy to drive by it since it’s not as prominently on a corner like the other ones are.

I could really care less about Walgreens, unless of course I’m sick and want to pile on the meds. This Walgreens is a winner though for one simple feature… an outdoor Redbox machine. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week I can rent a Bluray for cheap. Can’t beat that.
