I love Wantable. I am new to subscription boxes, this being my first. Just ordering this made me want to order ipsy now, which I did. 36 is high for a mystery box, but this being my second box I recieved 110 dollars worth of items I absolutely loved. They shipped it out within two days, and three days later it arrived. I am on the app and love sharing with everyone the items I received. I am scared to order from other subscriptions now due to lack of customization, but if Ipsy does me right I will have Wantable and Ipsy.

Wantable is a subscription box service — if you aren’t familiar with the concept, you pay a monthly fee and get a mystery box o’stuff based on your preferences. Wantable’s unique in offering not just a make up box but an accessories(jewelry, scarves) and an intimates box(undies) too. I’m no stranger to sub boxes — I get Birchbox($ 10/mo) & Glossybox($ 20/mo — amazing, btw). I was attracted to Wantable because they promised a greater ability to customize(less Britney Spears perfume samples, more lip gloss) and because they’re local. Online reviews said the had«amazing» service which was the deciding factor as their box price is the highest I’ve seen at $ 36.(they promise you’ll get a min. value of like $ 70) Placed my online order & got a confirmation that I’d get shipping info in 1 – 3 days. Fast forward a week — hadn’t heard anything at all. So I emailed(because their site doesn’t give a phone number) — no reply. Waited another day & emailed again and got a reply that they were waiting for stock, couldn’t give me a ship date & «maybe» it would ship the week after? If you charge an ultra premium price, I expect proactive service. My card was charged immediately — if there was a backorder, I expect a prompt notice and a time that it will be resolved. I shouldn’t have to be chasing them, and then get a reply that«we can’t give you a ship date but maybe we’ll ship it soon». Cancelled my order with no regrets — there are tons of other places out there doing the same thing at ½ or ¼ the price that do offer good service. I’m just sorry that my experience with a local place sucked, as it would have been nice to support them. Also, in re-checking those glowing reviews it appears that all of them are mommy bloggers who got free stuff in exchange for writing positive reviews. So, if you’re a mommy blogger defntely give them a call. If you actually plan to pay for a subscription you should probably choose anyone else.
