Yellow Cab Co-Op

On 7/26/2022, The Day Hospital nurse called Yellow Cab Cooperative, 414-271-1899, about 4:00 pm to pick me up at the Cancer Center – Froedtert Main Campus. I called Yellow Cab at about 4:30 pm to inquire about the cab scheduled to pick me up at about 4:30 pm at the Cancer Center – Froedtert Main Campus. The woman who answered the phone refused to provide her name and claimed to be the manager, and she refused to transfer the call to her supervisor. She screamed at me, telling me that the cab would pick me up when the driver arrived, but refused to specify a time. I informed the unidentified woman that I had completed 4 hours of chemotherapy treatment and that I had to go home, I was unable to wait for the cab for an indeterminate time. She informed me that she was cancelling the cab if I continued to ask questions about the arrival time. She was screaming at me sufficient loud that the Froedtert employee at the reception desk overheard my conversation and intervene on my behalf.

On 7/26/2022, the Yellow Cab Cooperative driver, Trip No. 7829544, Car 443, was writing/completing the cab voucher while he drove on the express way around Mitchell Airport at after picking me up at about 6:15 pm at the Cancer Center – Froedtert Main Campus. The driver did not see the flat bed truck signaling that he was moving on to the same lane the cab driver was on, when I screamed that we were going to hit the truck, the cab driver looked up and move the cab to the left lane barely missing the flat bed truck. If a car had been on the left lane or if the cab driver was unable to move to the left lane for any reason, we would have had a serious car accident. Unnecessary, because the Yellow Cab Cooperative driver chose to complete the cab voucher while he drove.

Well I was going to call yellow. But after reading all the reviews I will not be using them. Doesn’t pay to treat people bad!

I use yellow cab frequently, and the cab drivers/​service is inconsistent. Sometimes I have wonderful drivers, but twice now I have had dishonest drivers whose cabs reek of stank weed. My last experience my toll came to $ 12.50. I wanted to pay with my card. When he asked me what the tip was I said nothing. (I’m a generous tipper-​but if you don’t deserve it, you aren’t getting it). He then canceled my tab and ran $ 13.50 on my card as a tip. I immediately called yellow cab about my bad service, they did nothing but told me to write a review on their website.
Needless to say I will be moving to Über.

First and Foremost — I live in a large city and I take cabs ALL the time… to feel insulted and abused like I did with the 2 cabbies in Milwaukee makes me sick. Cab #203 and #700 were both disgusting in the fact that they demanded I only pay with cash. I only had a card because I am here on travel and must keep all my expenses. However the last cabby was a real jerk. Called me another ethnic group because he felt he knew me as well as insulted how I couldn’t read the screen … there wasn’t anything to read. It did not say the total because he did not give the okay button and my fare jumped from $ 5.75 to $ 6.75 in 10 secs of waiting by the curb. He then demanded I leave collateral in his taxi so I can find an ATM to get cash out. It wasn’t until the nice door man at the hotel was able to walk with me out to the cab, THEN he let me pay by card. He was a rude, inconsiderate jerk and I WILL NEVER use them again.
They are a CO-​RRUPTED cabs not Co-​Op cabs!

Vehicle #561. Badge #6786. Flagged. Midnight. We took a very short cab ride as my girlfriend was wearing heels and dressed up for an event. We went about 5 blocks and the total was about $ 4. Great, we are home and she is happy. He demanded we pay the $ 10 minimum, raised his voice, and repeatedly pointed at the small text on the window which does say $ 10 minimum. He went on a rant about what is wrong with cab takers and how they just want what they want, and even took a minute to bash Über. He went from 0 – 60 in 2 seconds and should arguably be on meds. Ultimately he did bend and charge my card less than $ 10 but I suspect only because I said I’d give him a $ 2 tip. Because of this guy alone I will never take yellow cab again. Über, or any other company from now on. How can you wonder why customers are choosing Über over you?

Yellow cab service is very bad.
Last year, I was out with my friends and we took the yellow can from N Milwaukee street to shorewood. Didn’t know that we need cash only. When we reached our end destination, I gave my credit card to cabbie and he said its cash only. I had no cash at the moment and no debit card either. MR. Cabbie dropped us back to Milwaukee street in downtown… Isn’t this amazing?

It is sad that you have cab drivers that do not listen last night I decided to take the cab number 329 and it was in the evening 9:30 to be exact. I gave the cab driver the address and told him the street that other cab drivers take and then he asks me to type the address on his GPS and told him that the street he needs to take he took the expressway and took me around in a circle. I told him what was he doing and why he did not follow the road I gave him his response was I’m following my GPS I usually pay 10 to 15 dollars this was not the case it almost 22 dollars so if anyone runs into this cab driver do not even bother to take that cab.

I have used Yellow Cab a handful of times over the past couple of years. As someone who does not own a car, they came in very helpful when. .. I missed the bus and needed to administer an 8am Midterm or when I was taking a fly lady out to dinner and it started raining.
Be sure you have an address for pick-​up when you call. $ 10 minimum credit card (which can include tip), helpful dispatch, and friendly drivers. They are a contact in my phone!
And, they’re a Co-​op!

It was raining and I was going to the airport. I had four suitcases. The driver said «the trunks open». I had to load and unload the suitcases myself. I’ll try Über or Lyft next time.

Horrible. Waited 90 minutes for a cab after calling 5 times and they never showed up. If you’re in the Milwaukee area, buy a bike. These cabbies suck no wonder no one comes here. They’re a desolate island where no one comes unless they’re taking Amtrak.

It was very late last night at about 1:00 a.m. as I was hosting a party that ran later with my boyfriend. One of our friends who my boyfriend had driven to our house didn’t have his car so I called him a cab. The cab was pretty fast getting to our house, about fifteen minutes. However, to my dismay, my friend – who is a handicapped veteran – texted my boyfriend and let us know that the cabbie had began hassling him the moment he sat down and all the way home as to whether or not he could pay because he was black. The cabbie actually said that… So, my poor friend had to ride all the way home being bickered at by a racist and judgmental cabbie with an attitude. Go to a different service, this one is not worth a penny if they don’t even have decency.

Literally worst service I’ve ever experienced. I called for an estimate and how nice, they provided it. Next, I asked estimated wait time — answer: you want a cab or not. You get it when you get it. Politley, I asked: are we talking 30 mins or an hour and a half? Reply: you want a cab or not? You get it when you get it. My response: so are we talking half an hour wait time or 90 mins? … promptly hung up on.
I will never call back. There are other, easier, better options than this company (*cough* über *cough*).

I was turned down by FOUR different cabs on Water Street who refused to take a credit card as payment. Ridiculous. And it’s impossible to get through to dispatch on the weekends — and even after I’ve booked cabs on the phone, they often don’t show up.

They say they take credit cards but when you attempt to pay with one they say their machine doesn’t work. Scam. Come into the modern technology age. How do you expect to keep up if you don’t change with the times.

I had a terrible experience with Yellow Cab. I got in a Yellow Cab on Water Street to go back home to the UWM area later at night. When we pulled up to my apartment, I tried to use my debit card and the driver told me he did not take cards (which they do, since I had used it in the Yellow Cab on the way to Water Street). He then proceeded to drive me to an ATM about a mile away from my apartment. I did not ask him or authorize him to do this. After I was forced to take cash out at a foreign ATM that I was charged fees at, he then told me that he would charge me again to take me back to my apartment, so I walked home the mile, in the snow. Never using Yellow Cab again.

The good part is the cab was very fast to arrive.
The bad part was the ripping off… I told the cabbie right away that I will pay with a credit card to which he had nothing to say but ok. Only upon arriving to the destination he makes an announcement that there’s $ 10 Min on credit card charges while my total was $ 6.50, leaving me no choice but to pay extra. GFU yellow cab Milwaukee.
I went the extra mile and called the customer service to let them know the cabbies aren’t warning about the minimum… only to get a response that it was my fault I didn’t read the signs on the cab doors.

I have hardly used cabs in my life and this was the first time that I ever called a cab for myself. It was a Friday night at 1:44am and they told me they would send a car as soon as possible. An hour later, I called to check if a car was still coming and the dispatcher said «I will try to speed it up, one is still coming.» Another hour later, still no car. I called from my friends phone at this point and I asked why my cab never came. The dispatcher told me «They were busy picking up people on the street.» At last I got a cab and was home by 4am.
I understand that a Friday night is busy, but PLEASE DO NOT TAKE CALLS if you cannot pick them up. I am horribly disappointed by the experience. They were not sympathetic to me. They driver told me I should have come outside and found a cab, to which I told him I called a cab because I (a young 20 something girl) did not want to be outside alone late at night.
I do NOT recommend this company. I know its only one experience but this is a terrible way to make a first time customer feel. I will never use this company again.

Used yellow cab for ride to airport from house on the eastside — took about 15 minutes for cab to get there (as estimated) and no problems… will use them again if we ever need a cab in Mil…

I’ve used these folks a few times since we don’t want to deal with parking a car at a downtown hotel for $ 20+ a day. For $ 10 each way, it works out a whole lot cheaper.
It started well. I’d call for a cab and by the time I got to the door, there they were. And then it slowly deteriorated. The last two times, I would call and they would be at least 25 minutes. Today, I finally gave up. When I called them to ask where my taxi was, he guy said he’d be there in a couple of minutes. TEN minutes later, he was still not there. I called another cab company. That guy showed up faster than the Yellow guys. I think we’re done with Yellow.

On an overnight we decided to taxi it around town for the evening. Service was quick, responsive, affordable and convenient.
If you are starting from downtown, you can flag a cab. I would recommend calling for a cab only if you are unable to flag one down, or if you are are starting or stopping outside of downtown.

I have had 2 bad experiences in Yellow Cab taxis in Milwaukee. The first was with a driver named Hasan. He was friendly enough at first, but didn’t stay that way once we got to my destination. I didn’t realize until then that I didn’t have cash on me so i would have to use my card. The fare was only a bit more than $ 5, but he said that he could not take a card for less than $ 10. It is against the policies of most if not all credit card processing companies, and possibly the law, for merchants to have a minimum amount for credit card purchases.
After a few minutes of arguing and a fair amount of him swearing at me, I finally giving in to being charged nearly twice my fare, he decided to call 911 about my potentially not paying. Of course I had already paid. He was in fact running the card as he called.
The Police showed up as I was climbing my front porch and demanded that I come back down. In addition to getting yelled and sworn at by the driver, I got demeaned by the cops too. Then, the officer found out I had already paid, dismissed me and turned his ire on the driver who was not displaying his license in the vehicle.
The next time I took Yellow, I made certain that I had cash on me before hopping in the cab. the driver was nice, but charged me an extra dollar for my groceries which went in the trunk (he did not help me put them in or take them out).
