I’ve been taking regular lessons from Derek for over six months both here in the Carson Valley and up at the Zephyr Cove Tennis Club. Derek is hands-​down the most passionate and effective coach I’ve had in over 40 years of taking tennis lessons. My overall game improved both technically and with match strategy and contributed to a USTA ranking increase. The doubles clinics he offers have improved my court management and team play techniques. So, a five-​star for his coaching ability, but a six-​plus star for passion and dedication. He attends matches to watch us in league play conditions, sends texts and emails with tips as he thinks of them, and prepares custom lesson plans based on player need. His pricing is quite fair as well!
