I had been here a few times and they were fast and efficient. However, the last time in 2013 was a nightmare and I won’t be coming back. The doctor and her assistant talked down to me like I was an imbecile and a low grade terrible person, and I was only in there for an annual exam! It was very much like how another reviewer had described her experience. Then as I was checking out, the assistant yelled out one of my test results in the hallway for everyone to hear. I’m not sure if there were other patients were in the rooms, but I was embarrassed nonetheless and felt like my privacy wasn’t safe there.

I have relocated to many states and do plenty of research before I choose a doctor. Dr. Shanahan and her staff were top notch. My hysterectomy and women care were excellent and her bedside manor was outstanding. She is a caring and ethical doctor!

I’ve moved around the country quite a bit (15 moves in 10 years, had two kids), and unfortunately this was the poorest experience I’ve ever had dealing with an ob/​gyn. Maybe she was just having an off day, so I hope more reviews are written for her benefit, but she was extremely impersonable. I felt like I was treated very coldly, and was being rushed, as well as judged. I had two kids: one at age 23 & one at age 26, and she made hurtful comments about why my husband and I would have kids so young. I told her we were getting ready to start trying to conceive a third (so our kids would all be three years apart), and again she made hurtful comments about why we’d be trying to have another. I was completely taken aback! My husband and I are happily married, extremely healthy, with healthy children, and he probably makes more money than she does, but she was treating me like I was some ditzy, baby-​hungry, welfare case! SO glad we’re out of that town & back to top notch doctors in a big city.
