Minden Park

Super cute little park that reminds me of a long time ago. Back in the fifties or sixties in small town America. Cool gazebo with concerts on Friday or Saturday night. I especially love the Christmas decorations and lights in December. On a hot Saturday afternoon you can almost imagine John Philip Sousa playing Stars and Stripes Forever. Not a bad place for a picnic either.

I have lived across the street for 33 years and am now raising my family on the same house … I am so happy that they will be able to make the last memories like I have from playing at this park.

What can I say about the Minden Park in Minden, Nevada? This beautiful town square is the heart of Old Town Minden. Countless Community events have occurred there. Children Grow Up there and Families Thrive! What a tremendous spot … Carson Valley Days, Community Concerts, Weddings, Christmas Parades, Easter Egg Hunts, Car Shows, Chile Cook Offs, High School Reunions, Basque Festivals and Wiffle Ball Games! Who in Carson Valley Does Not have a memory about the Minden Park? I know I have many and I recommend that you visit this beautiful Carson Valley Landmark!

Gayle and I were out for a drive today and visited the Twin Cities of Douglas County (Minden and Gardnerville). Minden seems to be the smaller and more historical of the two, although Gayle’s Dad’s old High School (and the nearby former Catholic Church) is down the road in Gardnerville.
Right near the small and architecturally significant main street is Minden Park. It’s a pleasant two-​acre downtown park centered around an elegant gazebo. The lush grass and cement walkways would make it a nice location for a small wedding ceremony or picnic. Minden Park has also hosted many music concerts and craft fairs, along with numerous private events.
I’m more partial to nearby Genoa for such events as it’s a bit more lush and not so much desert. But in any event, we enjoyed are short stay here.
