Taylor York Salon

Moved here from San Fancisco. For years went to Di Pietro Todd and had Andrew Todd the owner do my hair. Haircuts were $ 250! Then switched to Patrick Evans and loved Stephen Paynes color at a very fair price comparable to Minden.
Many many people gave me cards of who they went to here and I never followed up at all. When Taylor York and Deonne was mentioned to me I went one two three. Weird.
The salon is magic.
Deonne is as talented as any hair person I ever been to. My hair looks fabulous. I wanted it to be the color of Reese Witherspoons at its most golden glamorous best and it is! Deonne accomplished this in just a few visits. I could not be more pleased with the results and the service of Deonne’s salon. I consider myself so fortunate to have found such a good energy talented person to go to. Good healthy hair is better than Botox! The Aveda products I have purchased have worked beautifully.

After living in the Valley for 5 years and being a cosmetologist as well it took me a long time to finally find someone who understood Haircolor, Would listen to what I wanted and would get it done with perfection I can’t say enough good about Kate at Taylor York!

Taylor York Salon is wonderful. I’ve been going to this salon for quite some time and have never had better service. Kacy is fantastic! She always makes me feel special, and very relaxed. She is great at whatever you need or want done. She is super talented. She cut my granddaughters hair as well and she has never looked cuter. Everyone in the salon is friendly and professional, and the atmosphere is great. I always look forward to my appointments. Best salon in the Carson Valley.

I have nothing but good things to say about the service provided by Kasey and the experience I had when getting my hair done by her. Recently, I tried to make an appointment (3 attempts) to be told that they would consult with Kasey and get back to me on what works with our schedules. I gave the receptionist my availability three days of the week. Someone returns the call (2^nd attempt) to tell me they only have Tuesday and Thursdays available until July. These were the days I was not able to come in and this was expressed to the appointment maker. When I told her this, she informed me that I would have to wait until July for an appointment. It was mid May at this time. I informed the girl I needed something sooner and would have to look elsewhere. She did not seem to care and simply stated okay. A few days later, someone calls me and said they were ready to set up an appointment for Kasey??? Apparently there is no communication and no one ever consulted with Kasey regarding my need and availability. Not happy with the customer service and communication AT ALL.

One of my biggest dilemmas when I moved back to Minden was who to trust with my hair? It’s not like my hair is easy, it’s never just a simple cut and color, my hair is tricky, thick, and has a mind of it’s own. My cousin goes to Taylor York and told me to try it out. So, I made an appointment for a Saturday with Adam. I was a little nervous to have someone new deal with my hair. However, Adam was super nice, did a great consultation, and really asked me questions of what I wanted. 3 hours later I was walking out with kick ass hair, that didn’t cost me a ton of money (I’m used to spending over $ 200).

Taylor-​York is a fantastic salon. I have been going there since Dion opened it.
I highly recommend Adam; he is AWESOME !! I get compliments on my hair all the time.

I have been getting my hair done by Val at Taylor York since 2004! Yes. it has really been that long. And Val has helped me go through every crazy hair stage from short to long to short again and everything in between. She is also fabulous at color! I literally have people stop me and ask me who does my color and I am always happy to pass our her name and number! And… I live in Reno! Going to Val is worth the drive every 4 weeks, come snow or come shine! Nothing will be between me and my fabulous hair dresser! I highly recommend her and the salon!

I’m so cautious about my hair, that I’ve lived in Minden since May, but have been flying back to Atlanta to get my hair cut every couple of months. I finally bit the bullet and scheduled just a bang trim with Kate at Taylor York. She did such a good job, that I asked if she could cut my hair, too! I’m so glad that I did. The Aveda experience is awesome: scented plant oil scalp massage, followed by a very relaxing massage shampoo and condition, then a great cut. I’m all set for the office holiday party on Friday and at $ 40, a lot cheaper than a flight to Atlanta. I’m so glad the other two folks submitted reviews and that I went in AND that Kate happened to be free. She works Tues & Thurs and some Saturdays, so book accordingly!
