The best! Been eating here for well over a decade. Always worth the wait, even when well over an hour with hungry kids. Always friendly service and excellent food.

My favorite place of all time. You can’t get a better chicken anywhere. There are so many Portuguese places around Mineola but this one TAKESTHECAKE. Ugh, I wish I was eating there right now. Prices can get a bit high depending on what you get. If its your first time definitely try the half chicken or steak sandwich, you will not be disappointed.

So I got here late around 9 on Sunday and was so worried we would get B rate service an hour before closing. We made the trip from Freeport after a baby sitter hold up and it was worth it. I did the 35 dollar all you can eat beautiful grilled meat option. You know it’s amazing a place like this is here not over priced and still so in touch with their customers. The manager stopped by twice just to make sure we did not feel rushed and our waiter never let our Sangria glasses go dry. All thumbs up for me. Worth every dollar. PS it was rear we got seated so quickly so anticipate a wait but know it’s «Good Eats»

Had a very good experience here while celebrating a friends birthday! When we got to the restaurant they were packed(good sign in my eyes meaning it was a great place to eat). We ended up waiting an hour for seats but it was alright. We understood being a large party(13 of us). We sat down and were immediately tended to. Drinks and orders were taken and food started to be served. Most of us got the rodizio. One of the waiters(his name was Jose) noticed that I wasn’t eating much and asked if there was something specific I was looking/waiting for. I told him that I am almost 3 months pregnant and really not feeling well but wanted some skirt steak. He sent a guy over to our table with the steak so that I can eat. Everyone had a great time, ended up being very full and even enjoyed their desserts! I will be bringing my husband there in the near future. Ended up bringing him some food home(the prime rib) and it was cooked perfectly and he ate it so fast because it was so good!

The highlight to me is the roasted chicken! Great taste, great price. order ahead of time and you may still wait. A place that is constantly busy is always a good sign. The endless meat platter when you dine is great too, rodizio I believe it’s called. Overall great experience place is always a good place to eat. I can’t rave about the place more!

This place is so amazing that I felt it was finally time to write a review to share it with the world. I cannot say anything but great things about this place, so where shall I start. The service is top notch. Everyone is always friendly and very accommodating. If you order the Rodizio, the delicious skewers of meat are always circulating to satisfy your lust for charred mammal flesh. But let’s get down to my latest of excursion to this carnivorous paradise. I have recently discovered the palate pleasing properties of their steak and eggs. Once thought of as just a breakfast dish, this establishment has proved otherwise. The steak is flavorful and the eggs are cooked to a medium consistency to leave a slightly runny yolk to beautifully pair it. But lend me your ears for a slight moment to bestow upon you the most delicious part of the dish. The sauce that rests at the bottom and soaks into the thinly sliced potatoes is from the cookbook of none other than God himself. In the words of the great Forrest Gump, «that’s all I have to say about that.» As far as dessert goes, Heavenly Whites are divine indeed and must be enjoyed by all. It is a layered concoction of whipped cream, caramel, beaten egg whites and crushed graham cracker. You’re welcome Unilocalers. And it wouldn’t be a fair review if I didn’t mention their Sangria. Mineola has been blessed with an array of great places to consume this fruity spirit thanks to its Portuguese and Brazilian heritage. This is some of the best in town. If you live in the area and have yet to visit this great restaurant, you should probably go confession first, because that is just a sin. Enjoy!

Best chicken I’ve ever had by far!!! I was here once for the rodizio about five years ago and it was very good but I’m not usually in this area, today I was driving down Jericho Turnpike and the smell coming out of the building pretty much hypnotized me. I ordered a takeout lunch, half chicken, came with rice and french fries and was very reasonable at $ 12. I’ve never enjoyed chicken as much as I did today. You have to like things that are very heavily seasoned which this is, it is pretty salty but in a good way, they know just the right amount to put on. I can’t wait until I’m working in the area again

I understand busy. I don’t understand really bad service. Our waiter was nasty and rude. It took forever to order and even longer to get our food. He consistent looked away from our table. The food… The prime rib was delicious. I had the skirt steak. My dish was over seasoned. The sides are a bigger joke. Watery beans, instant rice, over boiled carrots and broccoli, French fries and potato chips 2 ice teas, prime rib and skirt steak a whopping $ 63. Not worth it. Don’t bother. It seems like the place is filled with locals who have been lulled into mediocrity.

My wife and I are fans of Brazilian steakhouses, so we’re always looking to try one or be on the lookout for something similar like this Portuguese place. Sitting at the traffic light one evening in August at Jericho Tpke and Willis Ave in Mineola, I saw smoke and smelled the most amazing smells as I sat in my car. Figuring out it was this restaurant, I mentioned to my wife that we should try it one day. Seeing from reviews that it gets crowded, we decided to go on a Tuesday for her birthday. Parking was easy, and plenty. Nice lot in the back, although when that fills up I imagine street parking isn’t hard to find. Once inside, as the place was about half full(it was a Tuesday, and only 6PM) and we were seated immediately. We both decided on the Rodizio; all you can eat. Like other places, the waiters come around with various cuts and types of meat. Everything was great. I really enjoyed it. I had pork, chicken, and several different types of steak. All very good. My wife and I also shared a pitcher of white sangria which was excellent. Overall, a very nice dinner. Very good value for the price. Food was excellent. Sangria was excellent. This review is closer to 4.5 stars than to 4.

It’s so freakin good! I would say it’s more of a 4.5, this was one of the best Rodizios I have ever been to. It’s definitely a must visit when you are out on the Island. It’s a Portuguese Rodizios which is similar to the Brazilian ones that we are so accustomed to. I first heard of this restaurant from Zagat and it was highly rated years ago, I am so glad to know that it has stood the test of time. The place gets crazy packed so make sure you go early or are OK with waiting. The clientele is mainly families and older people but it’s a place to go for a celebration or with a group. The food: Riodizo– It’s an all you can eat meal where waiters come by with mouthwatering meats on skewers and you basically eat yourself silly for about $ 36 bucks. For the amount of food you get and for the variety, it really is a great deal. The meal comes with fries, rice and these bomb ass plantains. One of the interesting things about the meats was the taste of the fire, there really was a nice smokiness to most of the meats. –Picanha, this is a really popular cut in Brazil and is a really popular item at Rodizios, in the US it would be called a rump. The one here was great, they serve it more towards the rare side and it had so much flavor, it is also a really tender piece of meat. –Beef Short Ribs, I am a fan of short ribs and I am a fan of the short ribs here. They were so tender and juicy with a nice outer crust. –Costela de Porco, aka grilled spare ribs. I liked the flavor of the rib, they were nice but could use a tad bit of moisture. –Chicken leg, the chicken leg was great, it was so incredibly juice with a touch of spice. I normally wouldn’t pay any mind to a beef-centric dinner but this should be ordered. –Sausage, I am not sure what kind of sausage it was but if it was Portuguese, it might have been Linguica. I enjoyed the flavor but the meat inside was a tad softer than I am used to but I still really enjoyed it but my other two friends, not so much. –sides, the fries were good, they were not crunchy but also not greasy, they kinda reminded me of Greek fries. The rice was just filler but the plantains were freakin great. They were so creamy and perfectly sweet. You should order the plantains by the bucket lol Red Sangria– I enjoyed the Sangria but it was a tad sweet and doesn’t have the most pronounced wine flavor but it really did pair well with the whole meal.

Came here with my family on a quiet Thursday night. Food was pretty good. I ordered the skirt steak kabobs, which came out a little over done for medium rare but i know it’s difficult to make skirt steak a particular temperature. It came smothered in a really yummy mushroom sauce too! The other meats(regular skirt steak and top sirloin) were all a little overcooked for what we ordered(medium and medium rare), but we didn’t say anything because we could not find the waiter! The entrees came with many sides like french fries(meh), rice(okay i guess), black beans(not my thing), and home made chips(blegh). Service was sparse in terms of the waiters. It took a while for me to be able to order my food because our waiter disappeared for long periods of time. There were plenty of other employees milling around, but I didn’t feel like I was being attended to. He only came to check on us once, and I always had to flag him down to order, get the check, etc. Overall, my experience was on the mediocre end. It would not be on the top of my list of restaurants to go to.

After hearing about how great Bairrada is several times, I finally got to see what the hype is all about! I came around 6:30 on a Saturday evening and the place was insanely packed and already had a wait for tables. Mind you, it’s a pretty big restaurant so there was quite the crowd there. We were told the wait for a table for two would be about 20 minutes, but we were seated in less than ten! If you want to wait outside there’s seating there so you can order a drink and enjoy it outdoors, but they don’t serve food there. Upon being seated, you’re already being served a salad. Though it may not look like much because it’s lettuce, onion, and tomato, it’s actually really good and super fresh! Don’t forget to pair your salad with the breads because they’re amazing as well. We ordered a whole roasted chicken, french fries, chips, rice, and beans, not to mention a few glasses of wine. Everything was delicious and the chicken was incredibly juicy. My suggestion is to ask for hot sauce on the side if you want to spice things up a bit. For dessert we got the popular egg white one everyone gets there and a chocolate cake. Both were awesome! The egg white one was delicate and creamy, the chocolate one was so rich and the crust tasted like Oreo cookies. The only negative was that the service was a tad slow, but in the restaurant’s defense, it was so packed I can completely understand why! Also, a word of advice… the parking lot in back fills up rather quickly so come sooner rather than later!

Definitely going back. This place is boss. straight meat fiesta. We came for a birthday party and had the Rodizio, and it was funny watching people tap out. The meat is perfectly cooked and the service is excellent. This is no frills, Portuguese food. Excellent food. My wife and I plan to go back and order something off the regular menu, because after all that meat, we needed to be wheeled out. I love food, but I don’t want to feel overstuffed at the end. I guess for the first time, we had to have to have the meat fiesta. Now that we’ve got that done, we’ll try other stuff.

Ok so… this is one of those places that if you come, ordering the«Rodizio» is the smart thing to do. It has everything in it. So let me say that, I don’t know if it was the heat outside or just my mood… or my mistake of eating a banana before I left the house but– i was not fully in it today. Parking is in the street on crazy busy Jericho tpke where local professionals race around like its the indy 500. My nerves were wracked from that. The restaurant in appearance was super clean and well appointed. The wait staff were so so attentive to us and I really liked them. They placed the rodizio side dishes down and I was a little unimpressed. My husband was in 7th heaven of course. The collard greens were nicely done, I have never had them like that– shredded and blanched and then maybe flash sautéed with garlic perhaps? Very interesting. the rest of it(side dishes) was kind of .Meh… compared to what I can do on these dishes at home I was feeling like the meats better knock my socks off or I might feel like I wasted 35 bucks. the bacon wrapped turkey was AMAZING. In fact all of the meats were pretty damned good. All well seasoned, and juicy. I was mad I got full so fast. It is times like this I wish marijuana was legal and that I was a smoker because this would have been a pig fest for the carnivorous beast in my soul. Id say I need to give them another try on a day when I am ravenous and with more people because its that kind of place– try it out there is not much to complain about they are pretty good. This will be continued …

I drive past this restaurant everyday on my commute. And every single day, I am salivating when I drive by or am sitting at the stoplight at the corner and the wind carries blankets of the barbeque smoke through my car window. Holy cow. The smell alone warrants five stars… This is confirmed when you actually get an opportunity to eat here. It was the Saturday before Memorial Day, and we arrived around 7:30 ish for a half hour wait, which wasn’t bad at all. We passed the time with a pitcher of their delicious red wine sangria and browsed our menu options. All five of us settled on the Rodizio, which essentially is a carousel of meat, as much as you can eat. So worth it. My favorite out of all the pork, beef, and chicken we had was the simple chicken wing. Perfectly seasoned and out of this world. There was also bacon-wrapped chicken and ribs and gosh, the meat just kept coming [that’s what she said joke?] Also, as we were eating we got the waiter to change the channel on the TV nearest to us to the italian soccer game that was on(we knew it was on from one of the other farther tvs). So yeah, we did get a bit rowdy, but we had wine and delicious meat to charge us up. The sides were great too, I loved the plantains and the salad was really light and refreshing. The soft Portuguese bread was so, so good, and I think I may have to hit up a local Portuguese bakery to get my fill. This place doesn’t appear to take reservations, so prepare for a wait. I’d also recommend staying close to the hostess stand as sometimes you may not be able to hear them call out. I cannot wait to go back and bring all my serious carnivore friends! P.S — Don’t forget to take a picture with the giant cock XD

My boyfriend is a regular here, so he took me there several times. This place is very popular. If I come here for dinner, I have to wait for a while. They have a pick up counter for to-go customers. Every time I come here, there are many people in front of the counter, too. My boyfriend’s favorite is BBQ chicken. My favorite so far is mixed shish kabob. There grilled food has a good charcoal aroma. If you order entrée, they serve fresh salad, rice, french fries and home made potato chips, too. I like everything. Especially I like home made potato chips. I think they don’t salt it, so it is not salty like potato chips sold in super market and you can taste potato’s flavor well. They are little bit think and crispy. I tried goat stew, too. Meat was soft and it was very flavorful. Someday I want to try Rodizio(They bring different grilled meats to your table, and you can eat as much as you want.) Their egg custard desert was very good! They have spacious parking area behind the restaurant.
