Jericho Terrace

First I want to say I’m only giving four stars because our wedding hasn’t taken place yet: so this is based on our first appointment with Jericho terrace.
I heard about JT on Z100 so we went and met with Anthony. Everything that you’ve heard about Jericho Terrace is true! Anthony is very nice the people that work there are also very nice. Everyone says hello with eye contact. We weren’t made to feel like garbage because we weren’t spending a hundred thousand dollars like other venues we went to. Anthony treated us like gold offering us mimosas and beer with a sample appetizer The mimosa was honestly the best I’ve ever had!
We get a food tasting for our event even though our wedding is a little on the smaller side about 80 – 95 people. Everything is included we get three ice sculptures all the lighting is included, food and top shelf alcohol, cocktail hour,
maître d’ and event planner and two bridal assistants, cake! They don’t add the 20% fee it’s only 6% plus tax! That covers bathroom attendants coat check and valet Parking!
I emailed Anthony a few hours after our appointment and he responded right away to answer my questions.
The grounds are beautiful with many photo opportunities. The inside of the venue is GORGEOUS! Our ceremony would be in the skylight room which is breath taking! Our reception will be in the Oak room it’s also very beautiful! They also have a nice waiting area for guests that arrive early where they can have a drink and snacks while they wait.
We are booking our big day this Wednesday because we honestly feel JT is perfect I have no doubt our day will go off without a hitch! First impressions are everything!
If you’re looking for a venue in NY check out Jericho Terrace you won’t be disappointed! This place is magical!
My fiancé had his heart set on another venue until we went here he was sold within mins!

As we were guests — this review reflects the vantage point of been served as part of a wedding reception — first let me say everyone there was helpful and extremely accommodating I’ve never seen this many employees work harmoniously and make it seem so effortless. From the valets who took my car to the coat check gal who checked my coat everything was Excelsior.
The stations for the cocktail hour for the most outrageous I have ever seen I’ve never seen such a plethora of yummy yummy food and all of my life all very good quality extremely tasty !
The dinner options were incredible and everyone’s food was hot — usually at weddings I always get a cold steak — and everything was too top !
So if your considering have your wedding here all I can say is your guests will love it !!!

We were just married here on April 25^th, 2015. All I can say is the Jericho Terrace and its staff exceeded my lofty expectations. Our attendants were amazing; the maitre de made sure everything was taken care of and went off with out a hitch. A huge thank you to the waiters, bartenders and the manager Robert! Not only did people continuously comment on the food, the beauty of the venue, but everyone was raving about the staff as well. That was really excellent to hear! You made our day PERFECT! Lots of love and gratitude! Chris and Luis.

I was in the wedding party of a friend at this place. Good event venue. Staff are great. The variety and quality at cocktail hour was fantastic. Beautiful ice carvings etc.
Proper dinner was … blah wedding food.
But seriously, this is a pretty nice venue overall.

We worked with Michael and Chet who helped us create the wedding of our dreams in October 2015 (Ceremony at the skylight room, cocktail hour at the terrace room, and reception at the penthouse.) Both are funny, respectful and extremely accommodating. Once we made all the arrangements, they took care of all the details so that from the moment of our arrival, we had nothing to worry about except for having fun. They were both as good as their word — and everything that was promised, was delivered. The bridal attendants were wonderful! They kept my wife hydrated, bustled (whatever that means), and otherwise attended to her every whim. All of our friends said that this was the best wedding they have ever been to. You should definitely consider this venue!

My perspective is that of a guest, not the wedding party. I was extremely impressed at the food and service during the cocktail hour. I’ve never seen such an impressive display of great food. The only gripe I during the cocktail hour is there was a specialty cocktail station that looked really good, but nobody manning it.
The dinner/​dance was unbelievable. What really impressed me was the way they worked with the DJ to space the various dinner courses and coordinate with the music. The wait staff were truly professional, down to re-​folding my napkin about four times.
Overall, if you are looking for a place that will really impress your guests and have them all saying «Wow» the next day, this would be a great choice.

Attended a family members engagement party this weekend. Gorgeous venue! Cocktail hour had an amazing spread and some delicious items. Food station presentations… lovely.
However, my BIGGEST complaint is the service. I’ve been to several venues across the U.S. and this one definitely stood out when it came to hospitality. Fail. I have experienced much better service wise. That’s why I give it 2 stars. For what they charge there, everything should be done with a smile. Staff was absolutely rude and impatient. Yelling at the guest to convene in the different area as the room was not ready in time. I understand with big parties, things can be overwhelming, but that’s what that place is built for… parties, engagements, weddings etc. Someone is celebrating a special occasion, and that’s what you get? Smiling to them seemed like a job. During cocktail hour, if you asked the server what an item was, they answered with an attitude and the facial expression said it all! Including the bartender starting off the service. Overall disappointment. Staff development and training on customer service is a must!!! I did express my concern to the management but not sure if much would change.
Like I said, beautiful venue, but not worth it if your guests gets treated like crap.

I’d give this place SIX stars if I could. We were in the hands of competent professionals throughout every step of the process; from initial tour of the venue to the follow up phone call I received the day after the event. Any time I had a question/​concern during 18 months of wedding planning, someone was available to me, whether I stopped in unannounced or just called on the phone. The entire staff here is friendly and accommodating, no exceptions.
It began with Vincent, who set up our contract, and continued with Toniann and Gerard, who handled our final appointments. They all made sure we understood the options open to us in order to customize our affair. The complimentary binder they give you to keep and organize all your information is impressive (others we visited gave us a folder if we were lucky, some we weren’t even allowed to keep). Every time we visited to make payments, take reference photos, or drop off items, they were as welcoming as the very first time we visited, and offered to show us the reception room again, or whatever had been recently renovated. They made us feel like they were sharing in our excitement; that they were as happy to host our party as we were to throw it.
The facilities are absolutely breathtaking. Not only the reception rooms, but also the cocktail hour and ceremony spaces, exotic fish ponds, pianos, fireplaces, and fountains. Even the restrooms and elevators are opulent. No detail is overlooked. I was also in awe of their commitment to the upkeep of the entire hall. Not a single corner of the establishment is allowed to become threadbare, worn, or rusted. I also loved the seasonal decorations which grace the lobby and exterior spaces, which were elegant, not kitschy.
The wedding itself was everything we dreamed it could be. From the second we arrived, our every desire were seen to. We were immediately introduced to Edgar, our Maitre’d, and Bridal Attendants Belinda and Katie. These three were instrumental in making our day such a success. There was absolutely nothing they couldn’t handle– and despite all our careful preparation, there were still a lot of last minute adjustments happening! Things like my parents, who had previously decided they did not want to be part of the procession, suddenly changing their minds as the ceremony began. Thanks to Edgar’s composure, this (and all the other wacky stuff that occurred) was a nonissue.
Belinda and Katie made me feel like royalty, holding my drink during photos, and carrying my train or bouquet when we moved from location to location. But mostly I was grateful for their calm presence and gentle guidance. It was wonderful to have these two ladies to keep me informed of what was going to happen next, and to advise me (e.g. «We have 15 minutes before we need to be at _​_​_​_​, would you like to freshen up?»). During the reception, they kept checking up on us, and our champagne glasses were never empty. They looked out for me in a hundred little ways, most of which I have probably already forgotten, but appreciate nonetheless. Steven, the bartender, also stopped by the daïs, to introduce himself and see if we needed anything. If I’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a princess for a day, I now have my answer. All I needed to do was cast my eyes in their general direction, and a staff member came running.
The food was delicious, and the cocktail hour was stunning and elaborate. The ice sculptures and carved melons were amazing. We received so many compliments from guests about the food, and many said it was the best they had ever tasted at a wedding. The cake was even prettier than anticipated, and tasted great too. I was still throwing bizarre requests at Edgar (I needed the third slice of cake preserved for a superstitious family tradition, instead of the top tier), and he kept handling them with aplomb and a smile on his face. At the end of the evening we were never rushed, but allowed to take our time clearing out the bridal suite, and everyone helped us ensure nothing was left behind, before assisting us to our car with the packages.
The prices are VERY reasonable considering everything you get. My initial reaction when I first walked into the venue a year and a half ago was «Holy #%*$&, I’ll never be able to afford this…». Not so. Take a second to really dive into the quote they give you. Other halls will try to hook you in with a lower cost per plate, but then tack on an exorbitant 20% service charge over the subtotal and taxes. Jericho Terrace doesn’t resort to the same tactics used by other places. They also refuse to disparage any other business, which was refreshing. Many other caterers I toured tried to pry into what competitors I’d visited, and then proceeded to talk them down, which was an instant turn off. Jericho Terrace by contrast is a class act all the way. If you book your event here, it will be among the best decisions you’ll ever make.

Good was excellent. However, I was at a table with ten people and they gave us three be we rolls and then told us there was no more. Unacceptable.

Super wasteful place. They churn out a ton of bland and sub-​par food, most of which gets thrown out because nobody wants to eat that much food (especially when it tastes that bad). It seemed like at least 80% of the food served ended up in the trash. AT LEAST.
If you’re attending a wedding here, these are my tips:
–Eat before you go! Even a peanut butter sandwich is bound to be of better quality than what you’ll find here.
–Cocktail hour: stick to things that don’t require preparation, other than the dumplings, which I heard were good (The stuffed mushrooms, mac and cheese bites, and rice balls were inedible). Other than that, fruit, cheese, salami, crackers, etc. are your best bet.
–Reception: For the salad options, the caesar looked like the less offensive option. For the entrees, all the steaks are super well done, the pork was hard, dry, and unpleasant, the manicotti was hard… there are a lot of duds to choose from. Did I mention you should just eat before you get there?

Had my wedding here really good food. Really nice pictures and views. Service was good. My little helpers brought me drinks, took care of us.
But we were rushed a little and as a result left 45 min earlier then we were booked for.
But over all good experience.

This venue is amazing!
My husband and I got married June 6,2015. From every detailed planned to the wonderful food, we couldn’t have asked for better! The bartenders mixed amazing drinks, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. everything’s presentation was exactly how we coordinated it. Our guest are still raving about cocktail hour! Vincent who guided us through every step of the way from the start introduced us to our excellent maître d’ Donna and our two (awesomely sweet) bridal attendants, Belinda & Rosa. We couldn’t have asked for a better night. Thank you all at Jericho Terrace!

Beautiful event space. Unique layout. Only complaint is the valet parking. Perhaps it was because the event I attended was crowded — over 500 people — but the line to get in the parking lot was very long. I recommend approaching from the west so you don’t need to make a left turn into the lot. You need to consider this if you are approaching from the Meadowbrook parkway.

As grand as this place is and how amazing the service were and how magical it can be during the wedding. I have to say the food was at par. The duck looked amazing. Cooked to perfection. I just have to say that the sauce was quite sweet? I felt like t hey could’ve made it more savory with a hint of sweetness. They put what seems like an apple pie under the duck? and then drizzled a raspberry reduction? Maybe it’s just my palette but it was definitely not for me. It felt like a really funky dessert. As for the steak it was a bit dry. The colors look great but the juices runs. Making the meat a bit rubbery. As for their dessert choices. I can’t really complain. It’s nothing of special. I felt like it taste like store bought from supermarkets. Everything looks great just didn’t match their level of class. Even the cocktail hr was amazing. Looked like a fancy buffet. But, all the food I tasted was bland or over cooked. I hope they improve in time. As for location and how the wedding was. IT was fun!

Gorgeous place. Centralized location on a pretty convenient highway in Mineola. You wouldn’t expect such a nice place where it is.
Came here for a wedding last Sunday evening and they were also hosting a sweet sixteen as well. Plenty of employees that are so cordial and really do their job well. The rooms are so nicely decorated. The cocktail hour was in a beautiful room that made me feel like I was in Europe. The food was delicious and there was literally every type of food you could imagine — from sushi and lo mein to calamari, lobster, clams and steak.
The reception was in a room with a huge dome glass ceiling. Absolutely beautiful. The servers wore white gloves and suits; very fancy. Overall great wedding or event venue!

The only things memorable were all the stair locations utterly making the elevators pointless, and a staff that provided absolutely no value. First let’s start with the stairs… if you have a baby carriage or a wheel chair, you might as well leave that at home because the elevators are awkwardly placed on the other side of the stairs. So in other words, if you need to use the elevators, you first need to either go up or down the stairs to get to the other side of the reception Hall, thhen take the elevator. But once you get off the elevator, to get anywhere, you need to walk up and down the stairs. My 91 year old grandma who is in a wheel chair couldn’t make my cousin’s wedding because of the stairs. How did this even pass code?
Next the staff… none of staff was accessible for guests when asking legitimate questions like can you direct me to the bathroom, or which room/​floor is hosting the XYZ party? Eapecially the main host who is fronting the main entrance. Isn’t that the point of having one? Then the valet parking was of no value. They stuck the wrong ticket on my car so they technically couldve just given my car away. This is basic valet parking 101. Stick the correct ticket to the car. But of course they had no idea where my car was. So luckily I found it and of course the car had a different ticket number than the one I had.
The food… for the most part the food was decent. But the staff didn’t pay attention to taking the order. So the table ordered the steak with some medium rare, some well donr, and some medium. And the steaks came all out as medium. So if you’re not going to pay attention, then why bother asking people?
The reason they disnt get 1 star was because my ciuain had a good time for her wedding. But if this was my wedding, I wouldve been so pissed. So my recommendation is unless you’re getting this place for under $ 60/​person, and knowing that this place is not stroller/​wheelchair accessible, don’t bother.

Well finally! here is the review for my daughters Sweet Sixteen long overdue and i apologize… Well a couple of weeks before the big day i was introduced to Ryan who was going to work our party. At first i didnt get a warm fuzzy feeling from Ryan but as time went by he started to convince me that he was the right guy for our party. So the day arrived and i have to say that (Ryan, Mike) did an amazing job! the guest that arrived early they were escorted to a very nice private room where they indulged in cocktails and horsd’oeuvres. Nice Touch! Once the room was ready for our guests they were escorted to the event. I was at the door greeting our guest and so was the staff with in white gloves passing out champaign and a virgin drink for teens. and every guest that came in complemented how beautiful it was. all i heard was how beautiful everything looked (wifey has good taste), JT put out an awesome display for the cocktail that even i was amazed. we had opted for the buffet and man let me tell you i could not believe the set up was great easy access and well executed. all went well without a hitch! Well done JT you outdid yourself… welldone…

Absolutely beautiful place. I first heard about this place on Z-​100, but finally visited for a wedding reception last week. I loved the cocktail hour and the hall which had skylight and a large enough floor to dance the night away. I loved that the mirrors around the hall also doubled as a screen for PowerPoint presentations. Genius! Guests can take pictures all around, even the bathroom. It’s gorgeous from top to bottom, inside and out. Wow! I was very impressed by the décor and furniture.
Some of the wait staff need a little improvement. How do you startle someone seated at the table? Answer: By tossing a plate of food onto the table. Not cool! There was a bit of disorganization with the wait staff not completing tables before moving on to the next. The fruit and salad were okay. I requested the Chicken Tuscany which wasn’t bad. Dessert was a mixed variety… I only liked the ice cream and red velvet cake.

I was grateful to have been invited to yet another wedding, but this venue definitely needs improvement.
Food: the cocktail hour has a bit of a «wow» factor to it when you first step in, but you then realize that the food isn’t all that great — everything seemed mediocre. It’s too bad attractive décor is not edible. Dinner was worse.
Service: there are some very rude people who work here, it almost makes you wonder whether this is more a wedding factory and less a venue for extremely special events.
Décor: that’s the only good thing about this place — it is beautiful.
«Different strokes, different folks» — I value the quality of food significantly more than the venue’s beauty. Others may find food unimportant.

I got a pretty nasty message about the above review just now and wanted to emphasize that this review was only about the venue. It does not take anything away from the people who invite me to all of the weddings I’ve attended here. I am planning a wedding for next year and look forward to hearing all of your negative comments about the venue. I do not view negative reviews about my venue as reflective of my friendship with any couple as a whole.
The venues need to step up — couples have too little time to decide on a venue and NEVER get a chance to taste the food. Engaged couples and other Unilocal users deserve candid reviews on venues, =).
