A great diner old time classic with great food, generous portions and exceptional prices. Service and counter staff are friendly and engaging, especially if u want to talk sports. Great banter between NYC teams and Boston teams. One of the best finds in all of NYC. A five star in my book.

This diner is a true gem. It has a very old school feeling to it with booths and bar space. The staff is very friendly and personal with patrons which is always a plus. Unfortunately, they are cash only. I came here around 12PM for late breakfast. I ordered their HOMEMADE corned beef hash, two medium eggs and well done home fries and the dish was made perfectly. The corned beef hash was indeed homemade because I’ve had my fair share and its definitely different. Very seasoned and tasty. My friend ordered their pancakes and she was also very happy with her meal. The dishes came with free juice and coffee or tea. Our whole meal cost us $ 21 plus tip. I will definitely be back if I’m in the neighborhood.

It’s a nice lil place to grab something to eat. I enjoyed my meal and the service was also good. The only thing would I would have to say that’s a lil bad is that the price isn’t so inexpensive as I was lead to believe from earlier comments.

Mineola Diner deserves 4 stars for just being there and representing a bygone era in Long Island Diners. We stopped for late bkfst and were fortunate to find a narrow parking space in their miniscule lot. They have alfresco dining in the front which on a nice day is preferable. The inside is full of old memorabilia and looks as old as it is 67 years old… nothing looks new! The booths and counter space is limited but worth trying at least once. We ordered Double dipped french toast with sausage patty and a Jumbo Burger with well done fries, lettuce/tomato. French Toast was really good! the sausage patty surprisingly tasty. The Burger was huge but made med/well when I requested med/rare…despite that it was juicy and tasty… first time I didnt send something not cooked as requested back! I had to consider where I was and nowhere did it say fine dining… lol…Prices are really rolled back and the breakfast special comes with juice and coffee for like $ 8.99…If your in the area its worth a stop just to try it and experience the nostalgia… not made up stuff but real deal.

Food is average. You can definitely make all the menu items yourself at home. But you have no time or you’re too lazy, so you go to Mineola Diner for it. That’s all you’ll get — food that is average, edible, fills your stomach, and sends you on your merry way. There’s a waitress who is like a grandma and she is awesome. I would probably give her four stars if I am rating her service. But then you have the other younger ones asking you to pass then the jam tray, filling the jam tray on your table while you eat, standing over you, and then walking away leaving the jam tray randomly sitting on the table in your way. You walk to the bathroom and they will stand in your way. Basically, not trained to provide good service. But again, think of this as your home where things are just very casual. That way, you won’t be disappointed.

Horrible service. We walked in the door and were told we could sit outside. Upon going outside the other patron and the waitress start yelling that the tables are reserved. Never been treated so rudely in my life. Never going back. Also, the establishment looks as though it is about to collapse.

The food was good. This is a historic diner built in 1948. There has not been much updating. Staff was attentive. Minimal parking.

Not my favorite diner to say the least. Forgot to write a review about my experience over a year ago but I remember it perfectly. I ordered an omelet with broccoli and turkey and I received… an omelet with slices bananas inside the omelet and broccoli on the side. No I am not joking, that actually happened. Don’t know how or why, all I know is not going back. I will stick to the Town House/Williston Park Diner every time.

First thing that came into my mind; old school. I suppose they did it on purpose. The food isn’t that bad + it’s worth more than what you pay for in my opinion

Enjoyed getting breakfast and enjoyed the entire experience at the diner. I like the nice touch of «old school» that it has. I would highly recommend if in the area. Cash only though, just a heads up

I had lunch there today for the first time and all I can say is YUMMMMMMMM. I had a bacon cheeseburger deluxe that was huge, juicy, very fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. My fried were crisp on the outside, super hot and soft in the inside. No salt was necessary. The cole slaw was a prefect portion and was not overwhelmingly sweet. The coffee was OUTOFTHISWORLD! He servers were friendly and fast. This is my new spot! Just bring cash, bc they don’t accept credit cards.

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch there. Had been eyeing the place for awhile. It’s got that great nostalgic look from the outside. Small but very intimate on the inside. Very friendly staff. I was impressed by the menu. Had the spinach pie and Greek salad. Traditional and fresh and delicious. Their sweet potatoe fries are yummy. Great diner experience.

As I sat there at the counter, many commuters were grabbing«to go» bags. The two guys behind the counter are running a deli, NOT a diner! I SO wanted to like this place. An old school REAL diner, not like the fancy places that are everywhere. A good, honest plate of food is all I expect from any old school REAL diner. This place misses all the stops. Maybe grab an egg sandwich to go?

I love this place so much. A small diner, very old fashioned, but still quite modern at the same time. Same staff every single time, having their share of regulars and new customers. Plus, you have grandma pouring coffee and making everyone feel at home. A lovely décor, with old announcements, records, etc, and all of todays current events hung up as well. Best menu of any diner! Cheapest prices around, with generous portions. Plus, you have to go for the brunch menu. The pumpkin praline french toast with whipped cream was to die for because it really has that pumpkin taste, that sweet praline taste and texture, and that french toast which soaks up all of that flavor. The oatmeal raisin pancakes are also really good. If you don’t get the brunch, then get the pancakes and eggs, 1 – 3 eggs cooked to your liking, with 3 pancakes, bacon/sausage/ham, and juice and coffee for about $ 8.50. WOW!!! For lunch, go for the gyro, which is surprisingly good. The gyro meat, for a diner, was really good, along with a homemade Greek salad with all the works, and french fries. I also love their ½ and 1 pound hamburgers. Extraordinary establishment.

I’ve been coming to the Mineola Diner for at least 18 years now. The new owners have brought the place back to one that I love. Great food. Great service, I love June she’s like my grandma. Hahaha

This diner is in the official registry of «original diners» and pictured in most of the books on these places. We have only been there for breakfast but it was truly a memorable experience. Your greeted with a smile and welcome. It is very small and seating limited but there was plenty of space in the early AM. We had a simple meal… eggs on a roll. BUT… The roll is fresh the eggs tasty. Surprising enough that all places can’t make a sandwich like this but it’s just another reason that we will be back to try additional items.

Like stepping back in time the atmosphere is kitschy and fun. Great diner fare with super breakfast specials that will fill you up and not empty your wallet. Fun people great food and super fast from order to your table. If you aren’t here or on your way you are missing out.
