Best bartender in town Maria. Great place to stop in to grab a bite to eat, food is excellent. Perfect place to stop in after work for a beer right across from the Lirr platform. Love it here!

Great Irish bar across from the Mineola train station. A must stop for great beers, solid service, and affordable tasty food. I had the Shepherd’s pie and it hit the spot after a night of enjoying the Long Island Craft Beer Week at the Black Sheep.

I went to O’Carroll’s Recovery Room yesterday after a friend wanted me to meet him there and I must say, it was even better than I expected. I arrived here a little before 4:30PM yesterday, after parking in one of the nearby metered spaces, which are free on Sunday as they do not check the meters. I entered and found O’Carroll’s to be a bit on the small side, but clean and cozy at the same time, with a long bar stretching to the back of the restaurant, some high top tables on the other side of the wall, along with knick-knacks and an electronic jukebox on the wall. After grabbing a seat with my friend, I was welcomed by Jordan, the bartender, who was very welcoming and friendly. Since I wanted to have a bite to eat and the food was good according to my friend, she was happy to grab me a menu as well as inform me of the specials, which included a Filet Mignon, Grilled Shrimp Salad, and Lobster Bisque. While those specials sounded good, I decided to go for a Cajun Grilled Chicken Sandwich with no bun and no cole slaw, which cost $ 8.00 before tax and tip. Since I was driving home, I did not order any alcohol, so I was happy to order a Diet Coke instead. After Jordan took my order, I reveled in the fun and lively atmosphere with my friend, as we enjoyed the mostly rock and roll tunes which were played, including music from artists such as Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In addition, I also thought the other patrons, who my friend was happy to introduce me to, were very welcoming and added to the fun and festive atmosphere. Soon enough, my food arrived and I was pleasantly surprised, as I found the two nicely sized grilled chicken breasts to be moist, juicy, tender, and pleasantly spicy from the Cajun spices added to it. In addition, the sliced tomatoes were ripe, the lettuce was crisp, and the fries, while pedestrian, were crispy, salty, and fluffy on the inside. After my satisfying dinner, I stayed a little longer, but did not feel rushed at all. When it was time to pay the tab, I found that my dinner and Diet Cokes came out to $ 10.70, which was very reasonable! Before I left, I also used the restroom, which I found to be small, but clean and well-stocked. Another important note about O’Carroll’s Recovery Room is that is conveniently located across from the Mineola LIRR, making it very convenient for commuters. Overall, I would definitely return here as the atmosphere was fun and festive, the service was friendly and welcoming, the food was solid, and the prices were not bad at all!

THE most disrespectful service and confrontation I’ve veer had. The bartenders and management are HORRENDOUS. I’ve given too many chances too many time. This place is literally THEWORST on Long Island. Been here so many times. Every time been treated like a second rate citizen. Worst bar on LI.

This place made no sense and profiled their customers. I walk in with a business suit and an iPad to wait for the train. I sit in the back at a table so as not to take up space at the bar. The bartender got mad that I didn’t order a drink right away and demanded that I order one which is fine– I understand it’s a bar. Then I order one after she gives me dirty looks and she asks for my ID. I give her my MAID and she says she can’t accept it because it’s out of state. Then why did you want me to order a drink so bad if you don’t even want my money? Also it’s a train station bar I’m sure they get out of state ID’s all the time. Then she tells me that I’m not allowed here because I’m under 21. I asked her, how am I under 21 you don’t take my state ID but that doesn’t make me under 21. Basically she kicked me out for having a MAID. It seemed like if you weren’t a townie or shady character you were not allowed. I can’t recommend this place for being rude to non locals.

Great local bar right next to the train station. Have a drink while you wait for the train. Friendly bartenders. Good bar food.

This place grosses me out. It’s so dark and riddled with characters and just feels dirty(don’t even try to use the bathroom). Perks include super cheap drink deals, train beers to go and the proximity to the train track so you can actually see your train arrive. That being said, it’s a good stop for a beer before getting on the train and that’s about all.

Best pub in Nassau… with a great Guinness, really good… actually better than standard pub grub… next to major train line… did i mention the Guinness… this is a really wonderful and warm pub with good food, warmth and terrific bartenders. Maria — Tu– Fri is my regular — but you really cant go wrong as they are all pros… Friday happy hour with music is «special» ! !

Oh how ironic the name and this place, I feel so taken care of like being wheeled out of breast enhancement surgery and the doctor saying you look fabulous«have another dose». Marie behind bar an Irish sex pot, who knows everyone by first name and gets the«doses» just right. Food is overly decent for a bar scene. Outside garden is über adores, however I can live without the band that played 3 weeks ago(screamers belong in the bedroom). Enjoy.

I’ve found that when i get a beer on the way home after a work meeting that takes place out here once a month i’m way happier than when i don’t. Get the sugar on the rim with the pumpkin beer.

Fantastic bartenders, a fireplace, great prices, and photos of unrepentant Fenian bastards everywhere. What more could you ask for? The crowd is really nice, too. It’s the kind of place where people offer to make space for you at the bar. Plus, it’s right in the parking lot of Mineola train station, so you can just take the LIRR and avoid Nassau’s finest.

Very chill crowd, amazing service, solid drink selection. It really is a no fuss bar that delivers. Without any frills or niceties it is just a great place to grab a brew after coming back from the city. However, for Hofstra University students, the shuttle takes you right there so you do not need to worry about driving which is an added bonus.

This place has all the elements of a great Irish pub — large selection of beers on tap, good food, great service. Generally I stop here while I wait for a train to go to the Knick game. I usually arrive with just enough time to have 2 pints(and with a nice tip it’s still less than 1 beer at MSG! lol) and sometimes a bite to eat. My usual bartender is Marie and she is awesome and efficient — always on point. When I finally relax and start feeling good after a long work day it’s time to catch the train, but sometime I wonder why I would want to leave such a top notch pub… ORR starts my night off right!

Nice cozy bar that’s conveniently located near the LIRR. They do need better seating cause near the back there are about two booths but other than that, seating can be a pain if your with a large group. They do have a lot of people coming by there on Friday’s. But overall a fanastic bar!

I frequent this bar often waiting for the train out to suffolk. Happy hour is good deal $ 4 pints of domestic and $ 5 pints imported. Bartenders are friendly and the croud is always different. Food looks good but have never tried any myself. All in all a nice local bar right across from the train

I usually get good service here and enjoy my time, but today I went for lunch and encountered a bartender that clearly shouldn’t in the service industry seeing as she doesn’t know how to deal with customers. I would have given this place 4 stars based on my past experience, but it only takes one bad experience to change those feelings entirely. So, I ordered grilled salmon and opted for the veggies. When I placed my order, Marie(or Maria) the bartender, told me it didn’t come with veggies. And I pointed out that it said that it comes with veggies or fries. She responded something along the lines that the menu was wrong. If that was the case, the restaurant eats the mistake and gives the customer what’s on the menu. If the menu was right, then we’re just dealing with a bartender who doesn’t know what’s on her own menu. However, it was the latter, because I’ve had that very same meal there before. :-/ When I got my bill is was itemized: $ 11 Salmon $ 1 Veggies — — — — – $ 12 Total I inquired as to why she charged me extra for veggies when they’re included. She rudely replied that it was tax, like duh, I’m supposed to infer that«Veggies» is code for tax? I pointed out that the item said«veggies,» not«tax.» And she was just very rude and condescending and said $ 11 comes to $ 1 tax as if she were trying to school on computing tax. Obviously, if you’re charging me tax, it’s not an issue. Trying to get over on me by charging me for something that’s included in the meal, as everything indicates here, is an issue. OK, if veggies is the new tax, whatever — that’s about what the tax would have come up to anyway. So I pulled out my credit card. She informed me that $ 20 was the minimum. I told her I don’t have cash and she rudely informed me that the ATM was in the front. I told her I didn’t have a bank card, either(I recently lost it). I pointed out that this policy wasn’t posted anywhere. I asked her to make an exception(honestly what choice did she have? I wasn’t going to stand in line at the bank to get cash during my lunch break). She said fine, but once again, she was utterly rude and demanded that I know the next time that the minimum was $ 20 in a tone that was only fit for a principle speaking down to a student who had done something wrong. Her rudeness was out of line and I told her that had I known the policy I wouldn’t have ordered — she says, don’t get argumentative! Totally unacceptable way to speak to a customer. Especially since I never got rude with her at any point. There are many places to get food and drink. I see no reason to pay to get insulted and berated by an employee who should not be in hospitality. They’ve lost a customer.

5 stars after 2 visits (Wednesday) My son was coming into the Mineola train station, the train was late. I was in need of Sustenance, and i am a sucker for an Irish Pub. The location of this Pub is Prime, because between the train traffic, and the Winthrop hospital traffic. plus all the other businesses in that immediate vicinity makes it «the spot» to grab a drink, and a snackie poo. The burger deluxe was absolutely fabulous. i mean deliciously cooked to perfection. SERVICE was terrific as well. I said to myself then and there I need to come back to have a drink and see the soul of the place, I learned they were having an open mic night that very night.(I love a pub that has live music) at this point I was totally sold on this place. (Thursday) Took a cab and had a couple of Stella’s. I had a fine time. Again service was up beat and friendly. Patrons were a mix of suits, scrubs, skirts and jeans. I personally never use that train station, or that hospital, LOLLOL .that said, I now have a spot to recommend to people who are going to be using either or. I do believe i will return to maybe check out the musical stylings of the local talent. or if i want to be off the grid. HAHAHA For what it is. it gets 5 stars! PLUS decent pub food and overall excellent service! Thank you!
