Horrible. Worst service. Poorest quality food. Rediculous prices. Worst bathrooms. Cyclist are so stupid to go here. 2.50 for a cafeteria taco??? Go to south omaha for a awesome quality taco for a buck. If u want a bar scene go to boondockers Tues tacos for .50 cents. This place is the first review I have left because it was so bad. I was one of the first to come here for taco ride almost 20 years ago and it was a dive but we could eat and drink for 7 bucks. everything has gotten worse over the years and the owners richer on everyone’s stupidity. We have been to some bad places but this place tops them all in horrific everything.

I wouldn’t waste my time eating here again even if I lived in Mineola. The service was terrible and the food was mediocre at best. First, the waitress had no idea it was wing night or what the beer prices were supposed to be. Even after I mentioned it she charged me incorrectly. I ordered 6 buffalo wings and 6 teriyaki wings. Both were awful — the buffalo weren’t fried long enough, tasted freezer burnt and were lacking sauce. The teriyaki had the same issues and the sauce tasted more like brown sauce from pepper beef or something. We also ordered the chicken fried chicken. The breading was good and the mashed were real but the gravy was bland and the chicken had big pockets of breading only. We will never return.

Another taco ride — ride was AWESOME and then to the food and service — HORRIBLE! Do not get the chicken tacos or nachos — I do much better at home. Chicken was crazy salty and nachos had cheez whiz, chicken and then shredded cheese(unmelted) on top of cheap! chips. Stick to the basic tacos or walking tacos and do not have high expectations at all. Service was rude :(

Came here after a 10 mile bike ride, so we figured any type of food would be good; we couldn’t be anymore wrong. The quality of the food was comparable to Del Taco(they literally had the same ground beef and hard and soft shells) yet the prices were comparable to Cantina Laredo. We came into the place starving and we had to seat ourselves… and pretty much get the food ourselves because we never saw our waitress once. We had to go up to some random waitress and ask her to take our order. I get that the place was busy with the bike enthusiasts and Lance Armstrong wannabes, but we’re hungry people too haha. The best part about the meal was the gorgeous trail and sights on the way there. It’s sad that this place has monopolized dinner for this small area; next time I feel like mediocre tacos, I’ll drive myself to Del Taco instead.

Typical small town bar food with mediocre food. I’m guessing the only reason this place is still in business is because the bicycle people… and there’s no other place to eat within 5 miles.

Another cyclist pilgrim Unilocaling this joint. Good sandwiches, tacos, and Boulevard yield no complaints here. And the homemade chips are just awesome! The crowd and the staff are friendly, and MIneola is only 10 miles, but a world away, from the stress of the day. :)

The Mineola Steak House is the final destination for the weekly pilgrimage of cyclists that descend on this poor small town every Thursday during months when weather and daylight are permitting, also know as the Taco and Beer ride. Via the Wabash Trace, literally hundreds of bikers make the 10 mile trip from Council Bluffs, IA each week. The Thursday night special is hard to beat: $ 1 tacos, $ 5 pitchers of beer and $ 6 pitchers of margaritas. Why do so many people do this? Some say it’s the food. I would never lie to you like that. Taco night at Guantanamo Bay Detention Center has a high likelihood of having better tacos, but the booze is cheap, and face it, after an entire pitcher of margaritas, who cares what the tacos taste like right?
