I feel like every time I write a review of a restaurant I’m always saying how much I love that type of food. This won’t be an exception. I love food. I especially love seafood. Tim’s is literally Unilocal’s definition of the two star rating: Meh. I’ve experienced better. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really kind of cheap. I’ve eaten outside most occasions, but either way you’re going to be sitting in cheap chairs at a cheap table. It’s not a place where I want to get comfy(ready to chow down), peel shrimp, and share drinks with friends/family. Don’t take that the wrong way though, I don’t mind a patio/lawn/casual atmosphere at all. Disclaimer: The deck atmosphere on the lake is nice, of course. Who would complain sitting lake front though? It’s like complaining about being at the beach. It doesn’t happen. The actual seafood is good. It’s nothing spectacular. I would say for the area it’s definitely nothing to complain about. Some of the other items aren’t worth it though. Their crab dip tastes like they took a huge hunk of cream cheese with added crap meat, and sprinkled a tiny bit of old bay. It’s bland and gross. I had the seafood pasta one time, bland as well. I will, however, compliment their hush puppies. The real issue with Tim’s is that it’s priced far too high for what you get and the location. I’m very aware of the fact that they’re on the lake, that they’re serving seafood, and that their first location is based out of NOVA(everything up there is more expensive) but it’s borderline ridiculous. With that being said, I will easily go to a sushi restaurant(in the same area) and be willing to drop 10 – 15 dollars PERROLL. I have absolutely no issue spending money on good food. Come on though, Tim’s. You’re ridiculous. $ 15-$ 18(I forget the exact amount) for 1lb of steamed shrimp and nothing else? I guess you’re paying for the lake but there are plenty more places that have just as good of an atmosphere and way better food(*cough cough* Lakeside). Also, sometimes it stinks outside as well as there’s only one bathroom for men and women. I’ve heard some pretty hilarious, yet awkward, stories on that aspect. If I was you, I would hit up Lakeside(in Spotsy) which is also lake front and has a fun little bar or head over to Asian Café for the best sushi ever(Louisa County).

Went here for my grandsons birthday celebration. The food was good, steamed shrimp, hush puppies, fried clams(were huge) everyone was pleased with their meals. The view of the Lake is a plus, watching the boats and jet skies come in. It gets REALLY crowded around 12:00 on weekends.

Food is mediocre, had to send back the hush puppies on two different visits. Service is slow, deck is lovely.
