Atmosphere is comfortable yet classy. Servers are very well trained and food is delicious. Beautiful overlook of Minerva downtown, especially nice around Christmas. One of my top favorite places to eat.

We just went here last night with friends for Valentines Day. It was very nice inside… comfy and cozy… we were told attire was buisness casual… could def wear a nice pair jeans here though :-) The service was very prompt and friendly… the waiter was personable and very nice :-) We got appetizers. my friends got stuffed banana peppers. they felt they were very spicy, almost too much to eat. We had stuffed mushrooms. was $ 9 for 2! Felt that was a little overpriced… The dinners however were very tasty and i thought not very pricey for what i was expecting! Also got a martini which are usually $ 8 – 12 depending so was pleasantly surprised ut was only $ 6.50! It is a def nice place for a special occasion and would recommend for a date night out!

What a wonderful find in rural east central Ohio! The Hart Mansion is proudly perched on a stately hill 300 feet above the small town of Minerva. Built in the 1880s and sparing no expense, the Mansion exudes opulence with 14 foot ceilings, circle-head victorian windows and beautiful hardwood floors. Our party started with a couple of appetizers recommended by our server: the roasted banana peppers stuffed with sweet Italian sausage and pepper jack and an order of bruschetta sliced in eight pie shaped slices… an outstanding start! For our entrees, we selected a filet, a New York strip and an order of the penne pasta with chicken. All portions were generous and all entrees were exceptional. Hart’s is worth the trip — five all night long.

Not at all what I expected by the price that you pay. I felt like I was in my grandmothers cramped home. I couldn’t pull my chair out without asking the people who were sitting on top of me to scoot in. They put white table clothes down and expect people to pay $ 40 a plate. The food was not bad, but it was not good either. Plenty of nicer places to spend your money within a half hour radius. We won’t be returning.

I had been looking forward to going here since it opened but since I live in San Diego didn’t know when I’d make it. This is my home town so this July was visiting my friend and she and her husband took me there. It use to be a scary place on the hill but now the place is beautiful. Went upstairs to the bar and to look around then downstairs for dinner. Everyone was very friendly and my steak was outstanding. I didn’t think the prices were too high – they are within range of good restaurants in Canton. The staff was very friendly. The Manager Vicki was attentive making sure all was OK. If I lived there or near by I’d make this a favorite place to eat.

My wife and I went to a bed and breakfast nearby and were recommended this restaurant. You drive to the end of a small street of suburban homes and go into what looks like a drive way for another small house, but you find a white mansion with a good sized parking lot. You dine in a very nice, large home. High ceilings, white walls, big art pieces, including some nice tapestries. The staff is very friendly and though every table was full, our food came out promptly. The menu is old-fashioned, high-end American food, with surf and turf, alfredo, and lemon chicken. Our favorite part of the meal were the small cups of soup that you get for an appetizer along with your meal. The bisque soups were flavorful. The dessert was also very good. The food and portions are good, but what really makes the place special are the staff and décor. The prices were high, but the atmosphere and service justify it. If you’re in the area and want to treat yourselves to a romantic evening or special celebration, I can’t imagine a better destination than the Hart Mansion.

Very disappointed in the price of the food and wine. The bar tender was unfriendly. When you order a piece of fish that’s all you get. Add a starch and vegetable and you pay extra on top of the $ 22.00 for the orange roughy. The décor is beautiful and the owner is very nice. A little too pricey for the area.

Great place with an awesome setting. Very quite and comfortable for an old mansion. The view of the«city» is great and does not get any better than during the holidays with snow on the ground. The restaurant is managed by a young couple that is passionate about the food service industry. Their passion and attention to detail is expressed throughout the place, but the best part is the food. Price is right slightly higher than your large chains but better quality and to know that you are contributing to a local business it doesn’t get any better.

Tried this place back in August. Actually looked at this old former home when it was up for sale back in circa 2000 when it was what you could pretty much sum up as a dump. The current proprietors have obviously poured a lot of $$ into the place & grounds as the results are quite pleasing, though the building on the exterior is already showing signs of wear and could stand a repainting. The inside is very tastefully decorated on a modern upscale level. The cuisine is what you would expect for a restaurant of this level– a bit overpriced and overrated, not bad– but not great; and definitely not cheap. You are paying more for the ambiance & presentation, as they say. I don’t know how long this place will remain open since it appears most of their clientele is not local and Minerva, like most of eastern OH is struggling with the times. Definitely worth a visit if only to experience the grounds & interior of the old Hart mansion for yourself; the prices won’t have me returning anytime soon but wouldn’t rule out a repeat visit sometime in the future either.

The building is beautifully restored, the views are gorgeous, the food was just ok. I had the Greek salad and crab stuffed orange roughy. The salad was tasty though over dressed. The roughy was good but came with no accompaniments, which for $ 23 I thought was a bit of a rip. my husband had the fillet special and when ordering his temp asked if the temps usually went over or under the bartender(we sat at the bar) said they were spot on so He ordered his steak medium when he cut into his steak it very over done I would say past well just under burnt. Told the bartender who said she would let them know. He ate it as was because he had an appointment and could not wait for a refire. We will try it for lunch one time and see if it is any better.
