First of all, let me say: I know the website is a bit outdated, but don’t let that drive you away from it. I price-shopped around for different buses, and this was the cheapest by a pretty significant amount. The buses aren’t anything terribly fancy, but the outsides have a fun paint job, there’s some lights to decorate, a bathroom, and the music is very easy to hook up/control to any phone, ipod, etc! Gwen, the owner, got back to me almost immediately, every time we talked, and was SO nice. Her professionalism, and knowing that I would be able to get ahold of her, was actually a really big factor in deciding to go with 1Place2Party. I confirmed booking with her a month or so ahead of time, and she called a few days before the bus to verify everything. The day of the party bus, our driver arrived at our pick-up location 10 minutes early, but was nice and totally let us take our time rounding everyone up to get them on the bus. He was polite but professional, and incredibly easy-going. He also was a very smooth driver — no jerky stops or accelerations!(I’ve been on some party buses where that was NOT the case!) He patiently waited at each of the bars, and was exactly where he told me he’d be each time. I know these all sound like obvious things that a driver should do, but it was so nice to not have to worry ATALL! 10⁄10 would go with these guys again. Great experience.

I’ve used 1 place 2 party for party bus rental in the past — probably about 6 years ago. They were fantastic — on time, professional, clean, and knew exactly how to navigate where we wanted to go. This time around, Meh. I’ve experienced better, especially for the price. Even though I found a better price deal from a different service, I chose to go with 1 place 2 party, because of my previous experience. Gwen(the owner) worked with me on price as much as possible, and I felt comfortable with my decision to hire them. The bus driver showed up on time(10 minutes early, in fact) at my house, and gave me the rundown on rules. The plan was a dive bar tour of the western suburbs — I’d given the city names to Gwen prior, and she assured me it was ok to give the final bar list to the driver as we went. The first bar was easy to find, and one of the attendees on the bus who lives in the area gave the driver directions. He did not follow them, and took a longer way that he knew — but we didn’t mind because we’d brought enough beverages to get a good start on the bus! He dropped us off 30 minutes later, and we went into the first bar while he waited. We bar hopped across the street, and he was ready for us when we were done. The second bar was a bit of a further drive, and we started to give him directions, starting with«turn left at the second light». We then stopped and said — «wait, do you know how to get to Victoria?» To which he responded«yes, but only on 41.» Ok, no problem, we don’t mind going that way, and told him we’d give him specific directions to the bar once we got near Victoria. 25 minutes later, we look out the window to see«Dead End» ahead of us. When asked if he knew where he was, he responded«No, I knew I missed the turn to 212 somewhere back there, but I figured you’d let me know if I was going the wrong way.» Um, sir, we are drinking on a party bus for which we’ve paid damn good money. We’ve been drinking for a few hours now, and were paying no attention to where you(who is being paid to drive us) are going — you said you knew how to get to Victoria, but have now driven us damn near to Belle Plain. While he turned around, I called the owner. Mind you, it was my 30th birthday, and this is the last thing I wanted to be dealing with, but we’d lost nearly an hour of «tour» time at our dive bars. She agreed to talk to the driver at the next stop — which ended up being a bust, at NO fault of the bus company(Floyd’s will be getting a separate review). The rest of the evening was without incident, but we never used the extra 30 minutes that Gwen offered us at the end of the night(we’d already been going for many, many hours, and didn’t need it). I was not offered a refund in leiu of the time offer. Overall, the bus didn’t ruin the evening, but it sure didn’t add to it either.
