I have been in here a couple times to order food from there. The food quality is great, but the overall business quality is average. I recommend to anybody who goes in there to take their food to go, not eat it there. When I first saw their dining area, I almost walked out because of its appearance. However, the food smelled great so I gave it a chance. Everything in the dining area is worn down, old, and torn. It does not have a warm or welcoming appeal to it. Therefore, I do not feel comfortable sitting in there for very long. They obviously need to replace their furniture with newer and better quality ones. I think that this would be a great start in giving customers a better first impression. They appear to have a better eye on cleanliness and order in their kitchen area. They seem to keep their food products fresh and sanitary. I did not see any issues with sanitation in that area. The only kitchen issue I can think of is that their utensils appear out of date, which does not have any effect on the food quality. Updating them would make a better first impression, similar to the dining area issue. The employees are friendly and pleasant to talk to. They are helpful with answering any questions I may have and gave good suggestions for what they think would work best. I always feel comfortable asking them whatever question I may have. The food is delicious. My favorites are a tie between the falafel and the gyro wraps. They remind me a little bit of Subway subs, except with peta bread instead of the generic burrito bread that I commonly see elsewhere. Their wraps appear to be long and thin, but they stuff the inside so much that it does not take much to fill me up. One suggestion I may have relating to their food is to re-arrange and re-organize their menu to make it easier to read. When I am in the area and in the mood for some good middle eastern food, I will continue to keep this place in mind. Until they improve their dining area, I will continue taking my food to go and recommend others do the same. I hope the owner reads this review and takes that into consideration.

Cool — an Iraqi Bakery! Lots of sweet goodies ripe for the picking(load up, it’s self-service), including the best baklava available in the Twin Cities(think ultra syrupy versus the more prevalent, drier«Greek» variety). Also, tried the«Iraqi fudge» Halawa Dihiniyya — moist, heavy, intensely sweet. Just a little bit is all you need, though, in true glutton fashion, I consumed approximately half a pound and enjoyed every last morsel. Looking forward to checking out the grill offerings(i.e. kebabs and such). Be prepared to communicate via gestures and smiles, as Arabic was the dominant language here among the staff and quite possibly the patrons too.

Central Ave’s best kept secret. Flat bread is always fresh, I’m talking still warm. They have a wide variety of Iraqi sweets as well. Service is always excellent; the baker is very friendly. The recently got a döner kebab spit and knock out exceptional Schwarma sandwhiches. Prices are fair and the bread is always fresh, can’t ask for much more from a bakery.
